Our verdict

If you’re looking for a stylish baby bouncer that offers gentle, soothing movement and works particularly well in a busy household, the Stokke Yoga Baby Bouncer & Swing is a strong option, especially for parents of twins.

New mum Helina tested the Stokke Yoga bouncer with her eight-week-old babies, using it as part of her everyday routine. She found it to be a practical, well-designed bouncer that helped keep one baby content while she tended to the other - something she says was invaluable during those early months.

Helina was particularly impressed by the bouncer’s movement and how responsive it is as babies grow. She explains, “The fact that the babies can bounce themselves when they start moving their legs, which in turn bounces the overhanging mobile, which they love,” adding that the motion felt “nice and soothing and not too jerky.”

She also praised how easy it was to use from day one, noting that when her babies were still small, “You can use your foot easily to make it move when they are little and can’t do it themselves.” The bouncer’s portability meant it slotted seamlessly into daily life, whether she was changing or feeding one baby, or keeping another nearby while moving around the kitchen. As Helina puts it, “It’s been great with twins, as it allowed me to change and feed one baby, whilst the other is entertained.”

While Helina and her partner loved the overall look, she did feel there was room for improvement when it came to longevity. With one baby being bigger than the other, she would have liked “more settings for the straps,” adding that she felt her babies “might outgrow it quickly.”

  • Textile seat cover

What is the Stokke Yoga Baby Bouncer & Swing like to assemble?

Helina found the Stokke Yoga bouncer “absolutely simple as!  Just one click of the seat into the pole and you’re good to go!” The bouncer is designed to snap together quickly and tool-free, so it’s easy to get set up even with twins to look after.

Optional extras, like soft toys for the attachable hanger, are also easy to add. The toy hanger clamps onto either side of the bouncer, just where the harness sits, with no extra tools required.

The bouncer breaks down into two pieces, making it simple to store or take along when visiting family. Its lightweight design makes it easy to move between rooms, though there isn’t a dedicated carry handle, so it should always be carried safely without a baby inside.

How does the Stokke Yoga Baby Bouncer & Swing look?

Helina describes the Stokke Yoga bouncer as “very cool”, saying it would “fit in with most people’s idea of something not too garish.” With its sleek, modern silhouette, she felt it looked stylish without overwhelming the space, ideal for a piece of baby gear that’s often on display.

The mesh fabric adds to its contemporary look while also feeling practical. It gives the bouncer a light, breathable appearance and helps keep babies comfortable, particularly during longer periods of use. The fabric looks soft and supportive, while still being easy on the eye, and we like the newborn insert with extra padding that ensures a sense of security in the bouncer.

Helina also appreciated the ergonomic, cocoon-like shape, which supports babies in a natural position while allowing them to sit slightly more upright. This design helps babies observe what’s going on around them, rather than lying flat and becoming frustrated, something she found especially useful with twins.

She jokes that “we call it the NASA chair as it looks like something they would train on,” a nod to its well-engineered design.

Stokke Yoga bouncer five point harness

Is the Stokke Yoga Baby Bouncer & Swing safe and stable?

Yes. Stokke is well known for its focus on safe, ergonomic design, and the Stokke Yoga bouncer feels thoughtfully engineered with baby support and stability in mind.

Helina was particularly reassured by how solid the bouncer felt in use. She explains, “It has one main arm underneath and can bounce side to side and up and down. You can change the setting, so it only goes up and down. It feels very stable and is designed to have a decent amount of movement safely.”

She also felt confident in the level of support it offered her twins, noting, “I could see that my twins were fully supported from head to toe. Their necks and backs looked comfortable in the bouncer, which is also thanks to the extra newborn cushion and the five-point harness which isn’t common with bouncers – as most have a three-point harness.” This added cushioning and comfy shoulder pads help to create a secure, cocooned feel, especially important during the early weeks.

In terms of placement, Helina found the bouncer easy to position around the home. Its stable base meant she felt comfortable using it in busy living spaces like the kitchen or living room, allowing her babies to safely observe what was going on around them. The sturdy design gave her peace of mind that the bouncer remained secure wherever it was placed, as long as it was on a flat, level surface.

What is the Stokke Yoga Baby Bouncer & Swing like to use day-to-day?

Very good, and particularly useful when one person is looking after two babies at once. Helina found the Stokke Yoga bouncer quickly became part of her everyday routine with her twins, especially during moments when she needed one baby settled while tending to the other.

One of its standout features is the way it gently bounces and swings from side to side, which Helina felt closely mimicked the natural motion of holding a baby in your arms. The bouncer is entirely powered by gentle movement, so when a baby kicks, wiggles or starts to bounce themselves, it responds to their own rhythm rather than following a preset pattern.

Because there’s no motor, the bouncer is completely quiet which is another bonus if you’re trying to get your baby to fall asleep. However, it’s worth noting that bouncers aren’t designed for long naps or general sleep.

The lightweight design of this bouncer also means it’s easy to carry around the house with one hand, making it simple to keep a baby close while moving between rooms.

The Stokke Yoga bouncer comes with three recline positions, which should be adjusted depending on your baby’s age and stage. To adjust the recline, you simply push down the lever on one side of the bouncer. The lowest position is ideal for newborns, while the middle position works well for slightly older babies who are alert and want to see what’s going on around them. The upright position encourages more movement, making it a good option for busy babies who like to kick and wiggle a lot.

Helina also appreciated how practical the bouncer was to store when not in use. It disassembles into two parts and folds flat, so it can be tucked away easily or taken along when visiting family.

Is the Stokke Yoga Baby Bouncer & Swing easy to clean?

Yes, the mesh fabric is not only lightweight and breathable but it’s also easy to clean. The seat cover and cushion are both machine washable at 40 degrees and should be dried flat without tumble drying, according to the care instructions.

Helina says you simply unzip the fabric from the back and pop it into the washing machine, which makes freshening it up after everyday use straightforward. She recommends putting it in a pillowcase or laundry bag to protect the mesh and keep everything neat in the wash. This removable design means you don’t have to spot-clean sticky fingers and spills by hand as often.

The breathable, cotton-blend mesh itself looks more resilient to everyday mess than heavier fabrics and being able to take the whole cover off quickly makes this bouncer much easier to keep looking fresh than many with fixed covers.

Stokke Yoga bouncer versus UPPAbaby Mira bouncer

The Stokke Yoga Baby Bouncer & Swing is in a similar price range to the UPPAbaby Mira bouncer

Is the Stokke Yoga Baby Bouncer & Swing good value for money?

The Stokke Yoga bouncer sits at the premium end of the bouncer market (around £249), and Helina felt the price was a little high, “I think it’s a little on the pricey side, depending on how long you expect to use it. We have used it every day, but I’d be looking to spend around £150.”

So how does that stack up against other popular options? A direct comparison is the UPPAbaby Mira Bouncer, which typically costs around £140 - £160 in the UK, significantly less than the Stokke Yoga bouncer. The Mira also offers three recline positions, breathable mesh fabrics, a removable Cozy Seat Liner, and a fold-flat design with a carry handle and storage bag included as standard.

By contrast, the Stokke Yoga bouncer is positioned as a premium, design-led bouncer, with features such as ergonomic dual movement that mimics being in your arms and a high-quality, stylish finish. It is designed in collaboration with physiotherapists to support healthy ergonomic development in infants, which may appeal to parents who are happy to pay more for thoughtful design and developmental reassurance.
