Our verdict

Of the three Momcozy nursing bras Amy tested over four months, the Busty Cotton Nursing Bra was the clear winner. She found it offered the best combination of comfort, support and practicality for everyday wear for a nursing bra and says it was “comfortable enough to be worn all day long”.

The main drawback was the fit. Amy had been measured as a 34FF at Bravissimo at 35 weeks pregnant, so ordered the Momcozy bras based on this size. However, she found all three were “too loose all round” and recommends sizing down. She explains that she would have preferred the option to choose her back and cup sizes separately, as she found the backs too large while the cups were a little too small.

The good news? The Busty Cotton Nursing Bra was particularly practical for pumping, with plenty of room for her wearable breast pumps and three clasps that made it easy to use. Amy also liked the overall feel of the bra, saying: “I like the comfort of the fabric, stretch and wider straps.”

The other two bras had their own strengths. Amy found the Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra offered firmer support and good lift, making it her preferred option for fitted clothing and nights out. She says it “looked great and made me feel good on nights out”, although it was too tight around her wearable breast pumps.

The CoolFit Nursing Bra provided the firmest support of the three, which Amy appreciated, describing it as “VERY supportive”. However, she found it too restrictive for everyday wear and it didn’t quite work with her wearable breast pumps.

Ultimately, the Busty Cotton Nursing Bra was the bra Amy wore most often postpartum. She says: “I would recommend this to other mums as this is the bra I’ve worn the most postpartum.”

Our rating:

Amy tested all three Momcozy nursing bras over four months, with the Busty Cotton Nursing Bra coming out as her clear favourite for everyday wear.

How we tested the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra

Amy tested the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra over four months, wearing it two to three days a week while breastfeeding her nine-month-old daughter. She used it mainly for everyday wear and pumping, giving her plenty of opportunity to assess how comfortable and practical it was as part of her normal routine.

Amy also tested the Momcozy Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra and Momcozy CoolFit Nursing Bra over the same four-month period. She wore the Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra once or twice a month, mainly for days at work and nights out, while the CoolFit Nursing Bra was worn around once a month for the occasional night out.

Across the three bras, Amy looked at how well they worked for nursing and with wearable breast pumps, as well as assessing their comfort, support, fit, ease of use, quality and durability. She also considered how easy they were to clean and whether each bra offered good value for money.

The Busty Cotton Nursing Bra performed particularly well for comfort and ease of use, while adjustability and sizing were areas Amy felt could be improved. The Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra scored well for support but wasn't as comfortable for Amy, while the CoolFit Nursing Bra also offered strong support but was less comfortable for longer periods of wear.

Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra: what’s in the box?

The Busty Cotton Nursing Bra comes with a matching bra extender and a care guide, which directs you to the Momcozy website for its size guide, breastfeeding tips and access to a lactation consultant.

The Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra and CoolFit Nursing Bra came with the same accessories. All three bras could be worn straight away.

What type of bra is the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra?

The Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra is a wireless nursing bra designed to provide support without underwiring. Amy found it comfortable and versatile enough for both daytime wear and sleep, as well as being the most suitable of the three Momcozy bras she tested for use with wearable breast pumps.

The Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra and CoolFit Nursing Bra are also wireless designs, but Amy found both better suited to occasions when she wanted firmer support. She felt the Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra could work as a low-impact sports bra, although she wouldn't choose it for sleep, while the CoolFit Nursing Bra was too tightly fitting for this.

What is the material quality like?

The Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra is made from 73% cotton, 21.8% nylon and 5.2% spandex, with Momcozy describing the fabric as soft, breathable and designed for sensitive skin. The lightly structured cups, stretchy underband and wider padded straps are designed to provide structure and support while keeping the bra comfortable for longer periods of wear.

Amy hadn't washed the Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra or CoolFit Nursing Bra during testing, as she wore both much less frequently, so she couldn't comment on how either would fare after repeated washing.

Jellystrip seamless nursing bra

Amy found the Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra offered good lift and firmer support, making it her favourite for fitted clothing and nights out.

Does the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra offer good support throughout the day?

Amy found the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra offered a good level of everyday support, although she found it looser than a typical bra. The design is intended to support a fuller bust, with lightly structured moulded cups, a highly elastic underband and wide, padded shoulder straps. Momcozy says the five-row back closure allows the fit to be adjusted as your body changes, while the extended side panels provide additional coverage around the underarm and side of the bust.

Amy found the Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra offered firmer support, making it a good choice when she wanted more lift under fitted clothing or for a night out. The CoolFit Nursing Bra was the most supportive of the three, although Amy found this came at the expense of comfort for longer periods of wear.

Is the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra comfortable to wear all day?

The Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra was the most comfortable of the three bras Amy tested for everyday wear. She found it comfortable enough to wear both day and night, although she did find it could get warm. “I wouldn’t wear it in a heat wave!” she says.

The Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra was comfortable enough for a full day at work or an evening out, although Amy says she would be ready to take it off afterwards. The CoolFit Nursing Bra was less suited to extended wear because of its firmer fit. While Amy found it “very supportive”, she says she would generally want to take it off after a couple of hours and would mainly choose it for an evening out.

How does the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra fit?

Amy would have liked more flexibility when choosing the fit of the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra. She explains that being able to select the back and cup sizes separately would have worked better for her, as she found “the backs were too large and busts too small”.

She experienced a similar issue with the Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra and CoolFit Nursing Bra, so this was something she noticed across all three styles.

How easy is the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra to wash?

The Busty Cotton Nursing Bra is hand wash only according to the care instructions, and it shouldn't be put in the tumble dryer. Amy did put hers through the washing machine a couple of times, however, and says it “holds its shape well” afterwards.

The Jelly Strip Seamless Nursing Bra and CoolFit Nursing Bra are also hand wash only, although Amy hadn't machine-washed either of these as she wore them much less frequently.

momcozy coolfit nursing bra

Amy found the CoolFit Nursing Bra offered the firmest support of the three, but its tight fit made it less comfortable for everyday wear.

Is the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra good value for money?

At £40, the Momcozy Busty Cotton Nursing Bra is more expensive than some of the nursing bras Amy has previously used. However, she felt the difference was reflected in the fabric, support and features. She says the Momcozy bras were “much more supportive” than cheaper options from H&M and HBselect and appreciated features such as the non-slip straps.

Amy felt the fabric and features of all three Momcozy bras were worth the money, although the fit affected how much value she felt she got from them. She also points out that the Momcozy bras cost “at least twice the price if not more”, so how long you plan to breastfeed is worth considering when deciding how much to spend.
