When it comes to travel systems, the Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle truly covers all the bases. This all-in-one set includes a pushchair with a seat and carrycot, plus a matching changing bag, cosy footmuff, cup holder, raincover, and car seat adapters. It also comes with the Pebble 360 Pro car seat and FamilyFix 360 Pro base, which features a handy swivel function to make getting your baby in and out of the car much easier.

After several months of testing the travel system with her six-month-old baby and three-year-old toddler, mum of two, Mirain, was thoroughly impressed. She praised the comfort and ease of use, highlighting the thick, high-quality carrycot mattress and the fully reclining, padded seat. The Oxford’s compact, easy fold made outings with two young children far simpler, and she found it smooth and responsive to push across a range of surfaces.

“I’ve really enjoyed using this pushchair,” she says. “The black colour is classy, sleek and stylish. It pushes easily on flat, clean terrain, and I was particularly impressed by how compact it is when folded. You don’t need to remove the seat to collapse it, which saves a lot of time – a big bonus for me. Once folded, it fits nicely into a medium-sized car boot.”

That said, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. While the suspension performs well, Mirain found it a bit awkward to bump up curbs or steps. Folding the pushchair also requires two hands, which may be inconvenient for some. She also noted a learning curve when attaching the car seat to the swivelling base, though this became easier with practice.

Still, with its thoughtful design, high-quality components, and comprehensive accessories, the Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle offers excellent value for money - a strong contender for parents looking for a budget-friendly travel system that ticks all the boxes. In the Oxford range, Max-Cosi also has the Oxford 9-piece Select Bundle and the Oxford Essentials Bundle.

How we tested the Maxi - Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle

  • Three months of using the Maxi - Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle as the primary pushchair

  • Tested with a nine-month-old baby and three-year-old toddler

  • Used for park walks, trips into the city, to the shops and on public transport

Mirain made the most of everyday outings with her children to thoroughly test the Oxford and all its components. She used the pushchair throughout the week across a variety of terrains — from the rural farm lane near her home to city pavements and grassy parks.

She was impressed by how smooth and easy the pushchair was to handle over most surfaces. However, she noted that navigating curbs could be a bit of a challenge. One of her favourite features is how compact and simple the pushchair is to fold with the seat still attached — whether in parent-facing or world-facing mode — making it quick and convenient to pop into the car boot on busy days out.

The Pebble 360 Pro car seat also saw daily use during testing, and her baby stayed comfortable and content, particularly enjoying the reclining seat position. One standout feature of the FamilyFix 360 Pro base is its inward swivel, which makes getting your child in and out of the car far easier. While it took Mirain a little time to get the hang of the mechanism, she soon appreciated the added convenience.

During testing, the travel system was scored on eight key criteria including: performance, quality and durability, ease of use, value for money, safety and stability, ease of installation, comfort and adjustability.

Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle: what’s in the box?

  • Pushchair

  • Carrycot

  • Pebble 360 Pro Car Seat

  • FamilyFix 360 Pro Base

  • Footmuff

  • Changing bag

  • Car seat adapters

  • Cup holder

  • Rain cover

How easy is the Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle to assemble?

While not super speedy, the assembly is easy to do, which may be surprising with the bundle including so many parts and accessories. The instruction manual has clear pictures which are easy to follow: Start by attaching the four wheels to the pushchair frame, click the seat into the connectors (either in world or parent-facing mode) and attach the bumper bar. If you’re using the carrycot, you need to open out the carrycot base, fit the mattress and cover before attaching the two connectors and clicking it on the frame.

The Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro car seat is designed to work seamlessly with the FamilyFix 360 Pro base, which uses SlideTech and FlexiSpin technologies for added ease and flexibility. To install the car seat, simply lift the handle until it locks, then attach it to the base.

While the design aims for convenience, some users, including Mirain, found the attachment process a bit fiddly at first. She explained that although the swivel feature is helpful, getting the car seat clicked in, pushed inward, and then rotated took a little getting used to. That said, with a bit of practice, most parents find the motion becomes second nature.

As for the base itself, installation is quick and straightforward: it clips onto the car’s ISOFIX connectors using two arms, while two stabilising legs keep it secure in the footwell.

Mirain also praised the pushchair’s simple setup: “It was extremely easy to assemble. The instructions were clear, and there weren’t too many parts. It took me around 45 minutes on my own.”

Maxi Cosi Oxford pushchair and carrycot

Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle: how does it look?

The Oxford’s seat and matching carrycot are available in two classic neutral shades — Truffle and Black — both set on a sleek black frame with premium leather detailing and embroidery, including an ergomomic handlebar that’s designed to be easily gripped.

Mirain was particularly impressed with the design. She shared: “The pushchair is very sleek and stylish. It looks slim, not bulky, and the black colour feels modern and classy. All the materials feel high quality. While the black does show mud or dust on the wheels, it’s easy enough to wipe clean.”

Measuring just 58cm wide, the Oxford pushchair is more compact than models like the Uppababy Vista V2, making it easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces while still offering plenty of room for a growing toddler up to four years old. It’s also relatively lightweight at just 11.5kg with the seat attached, and folds down neatly for easy storage.

The matching changing bag and footmuff add to the cohesive look. The footmuff is super cosy, lined with soft fleece-style fabric for winter warmth, and can double up as a seat liner in warmer months. While the Pebble 360 Pro car seat doesn’t stand out in terms of design, it’s made with breathable, high-quality fabric that’s designed to keep children comfortable during car rides and short pushchair trips.

Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle: is it safe and sturdy?

This pushchair is suitable from birth with the carrycot, and the fully reclining main seat can be used right up to four years or 22kg. The seat includes a detachable bumper bar to make getting your child in and out easier, and a five-point harness to keep them secure. While the harness was easy to use, Mirain did have some concerns.

She explained: “I really like the five-point harness – it clicks in smoothly and is quick to fasten. But the shoulder straps could be a little more snug – there’s a noticeable gap when my daughter is seated and she’s an average size for her age.”

Despite weighing a relatively light 11.5kg (with the seat attached), the pushchair feels solid and well balanced — even with a toddler hitching a ride. “My toddler likes to stand on the bar at the bottom of the pushchair (where the brake is), and it never tips — it’s really strong, sturdy, and solid,” says Mirain.

The ergonomic handlebar is easy to grip and can be adjusted to five positions to suit different heights. The brake is firm and reassuring, holding the pram securely in place. “It takes a strong push to activate, even in open-toe shoes, but I like that — it clicks clearly into place so you know it’s locked,” she adds.

The included car seat also features a five-point harness, which tightens smoothly and reclines for nap times. It’s designed to last up to 15 months. Mirain felt it was safe and secure, but not the easiest to use in a hurry: “The straps tighten evenly and feel secure — I don’t think a baby could wriggle free. But when you’re in a rush, like loading the baby near a road, it takes a little time to get the car seat into the right spot on the base, push it in, then swivel.”

How comfortable is the Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle?

If you’re using the pushchair from newborn, the carrycot comes with a reversible padded mattress to help your little one feel more cosy, plus it has ventilation windows to ensure good airflow. The cover and canopy keep your baby warm and protected whatever the weather.

The toddler seat also has a cushioned inlay, which is made from soft high-density foam, and it can be reclined in three positions, from flat to upright, with an adjustable leg rest. The UPF50+ canopy is extendable, with a peekaboo ventilation window and a sun visor to provide good coverage during nap times on sunny days.

Mirain says: “I was really impressed that the pushchair adjusts to a lie-flat position. We’ve had many day naps on the go and the large sun canopy is great at darkening the inside of the pushchair for day naps. The upright setting is handy for them to be able to see and enjoy walks but also, I’ve used the pushchair when at cafes with no available highchairs.”

For parents, the leather handlebar and five height settings offer a comfortable push. “The handle of the pushchair is adjustable, therefore there was no need to bend or stoop. For a tall person like myself, the handles lift higher to suit my height, whilst for a shorter person such as my mother, she preferred the handles down lower.”

The Pebble 360 Pro car seat comes with a comfortable Baby-Hugg inlay for newborns and the headrest can be adjusted so your baby is safely fitted. It has a UV protective canopy for protecting your baby from the sun and has been designed with ventilation panels, breathable foam and mesh fabric to ensure air circulation. Mirain says: “Our six-month-old has always liked the car seat. It’s easily adjusted for different heights, it has inserts to suit different ages. It has two recline positions which are useful, and I like that the recline position handle is similar to the pushchair’s handle. It is familiar and easy to use.”

What is the Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle like to use day-to-day?

The Oxford’s four wheels tackle most terrains well so this pushchair can be used for everything from nipping out to the shops, school runs, park visits and getting in and off public transport. It’s easy to steer, with a comfortable, adjustable handle that’s suitable for all heights and is compact enough to fit through doorways. While the suspension provides a smooth ride most of the time, Mirain did struggle with bumpier ground.

She says: “This was one of the weaker points about the pushchair. I don’t feel like it’s easy to bump the buggy up a curb and it sometimes gets stuck on bumps in the road on uneven terrains. Cobbles and rough city pavements can be difficult to manoeuvre with this pushchair compared with some all-terrain prams with air-filled tyres. It requires two hands to handle rough terrain.”

You won’t need to pack light — the Oxford’s spacious storage basket holds up to 10kg, offering more than enough room for daily outings. Mirain says: “The basket is excellent. It’s wide, deep and works well with the seat, carrycot or car seat attached. Perfect for day trips with kids.” She also noted a hidden magnetic pocket behind the seat that could come in handy for small items like nappies or paperwork — though she hasn’t used it herself yet.

The seat can be positioned world- or parent-facing, and switching between the seat, carrycot, or car seat is quick and simple. “I’ve used the car seat on the pushchair for errands — everything clicks in easily and feels really secure. You can face it towards or away from you, which is great,” Mirain explains.

That said, there was a learning curve with the Pebble 360 car seat and ISOFIX base. “It took a little time to get used to positioning the car seat correctly on the base. It’s much easier now, but just a heads-up — if you have another rotating car seat in the car, they might bump into each other. I have a medium SUV and they still clash slightly in the middle when swivelling,” she adds.

Mum pushing Maxi-Cosi Oxford and folded

Does the Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle fit in a car boot?

As the Oxford can be folded down with the seat attached, we had no issues fitting it into a car boot. Mirain says: “I was particularly impressed by the size of the pushchair once folded. You can fold it down without needing to take the chair off. This is a big bonus for me! It folds down to a nice size to fit inside a medium car boot with plenty of room for other things (changing bags, shopping and groceries etc).” Bear in mind that if you plan to use it with the carrycot, that does need to be removed first so you’ll need space to store that too.

Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle: how easy is it to fold?

Once you get the hang of it, folding the Oxford is straightforward. Just engage the brake, lock the wheels, close the hood, and fold down the seat and handlebar until the chassis clicks. One of its best features is that it folds with the seat in either world- or parent-facing mode — though the carrycot does need to be removed first.

Mirain explains: “The pushchair takes two hands to fold and unfold. It’s simple once you’ve practised a bit, but can feel a little tricky at first. There’s a strong lock to keep it folded and a carry handle that makes it easier to lift up stairs. It’s manageable one-handed — just a bit heavy.”

Maxi cosi Oxford premium bundle accessories

Does the Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle come with accessories?

Yes, plenty - which is the great thing about this travel system! Alongside the Oxford pushchair and carrycot, the Premium Bundle comes with all the parenting travel essentials - the Pebble 360 Pro car seat, rotating FamilyFix 360 Pro slide-out car seat base, matching footmuff, changing bag, cupholder, rain cover, and car seat adapters. Alongside that you can purchase extras including the Maxi - Cosi Pebble car seat cover set, a pram UPF50+ sun cover, phone holder, parasol and pram gloves to keep your hands warm in the colder months.

Mirain says: “The extras certainly make life easier. The footmuff blends nicely with the stylish pushchair and is very cosy and comfortable for baby. The cup holder is useful for carrying a travel mug / bottles or you can store a phone in there. The changing bag is very comfortable and stylish and includes a padded long changing mat – very useful.”

Is the Oxford pushchair easy to clean?

Cleaning the Oxford is simple. Most materials can be wiped clean, the seat liner is hand-washable, and the carrycot base cover can go in the machine if needed. Mirain says: “It’s easy to keep clean. Crumbs and marks show up on the black fabric but come off easily. The wheels and brake get muddy but rinse off without much effort.”

Is the Maxi-Cosi Oxford Premium Bundle good value for money?

We think it is, especially when you consider that the bundle comes with all the essentials you need for leaving the house with children. Cheaper than the likes of the Nuna Mixx Next Pushchair five piece bundle, you get a lot for your money and it lasts from newborn up to the age of four.

Alongside the pushchair and carrycot, the bundle includes a car seat, ISOFIX base, changing bag, footmuff, and useful extras — meaning there’s little else you’ll need to buy. It’s sturdy, comfortable, easy to fold, and compact enough for most car boots. While it has a few minor drawbacks — like being heavy when folded, tricky to bump up curbs, and a bit fiddly to fit the car seat onto the base — these aren’t deal-breakers for a travel system that handles the daily demands of family life.
