Feeling inadequate about my body because of the trans ideology

Hi everyone! It's my first post on this forum because I'm so desperate to find at least some support and to feel seen, I feel like I'm the only woman in world who has this issue and it's so distressing, and since this forum is one of few gender critical ones, I'm here.

I want to say in advance that I have nothing against trans people, I'm fully supportive of them, I think they're people that deserve love and help. But this doesn't align with my feelings about my body. I've always been a little different from other women. Not completely masculine but tall (5'8), fairly straight body type, with moderate body hair. Also I have tuberous breasts which make me feel like I'm not womanly enough because I want to have a child in future and I want to breastfeed but tuberous breasts can be an obstacle in longer breastfeeding. Those all features make me feel less womanly. And it's so upsetting. But what makes me even more self conscious and sad is that I share some common features with trans women. And it makes me so sad when people compare women like me and trans women who are biologically males. I feel like my womanhood is fragile, that I am not that different from a biological male that takes HRT. I'm so scared of voicing this opinion because people would go "why are tou disgusted by the fact that you abd trans women share similar features? Trans women are women!". But I'm gender critical. So for me it's actually all backwards. It's that the fact that a male can realistically change his body to look more like mine and my unconventional features being used to prove that trans women are real women too that makes me so distressed. To the point I actually don't consider i have breasts, even though they're moderately sized and noticeable, I just feel like I'm not me.

I'm sorry if I offended someone. I'm just so sad and upset about how i feel about my body. I hope at least one wan here feels the same. I don't feel seen at all and everything on the internet makes me feel bigoted. Thank you!

It isn't.

This thread has turned very odd and the change of voice raises big suspicions, but the issue of women being mistaken for men is a real one.

Edited

What, by their mum? Once? Presumably their mum knows she had a female child.

The thread was odd and ridiculous from the beginning tbh. It was always pretty unlikely that a only somewhat tall woman with body hair (which we basically all have) and breasts which she's presumably not whipping out on the tube for closer inspection of their shape is actually being mistaken for a trans woman. And any paranoia about feeling like a man despite having what sounds like a completely unremarkable female body is much more likely to be due to personal mental health issues than to the "trans ideology".

I'm sorry but I don't understand the concept. The tallest woman on earth is a woman. The ugliest woman on earth is a woman. The fattest woman on earth is a woman.

Why would pretty men affect whether you're a woman or not? They're men. Even the shortest, prettiest, most skinny man is a man.

I can see what you both mean re. tone. And yes, potential exploitation of vulnerable groups. We've seen a lot of that recently.

I'd always just rather be sure, and think there's more to be gained that way, long-term, than the other. And it's hard to be sure-sure - even there, I was prepared to wait a while.

But then - you guys were sure from the start, and goodness knows posters have been right to be enough times - and I know you could easily argue the opposite about pros and cons too, so 🤷‍♀️.

It's such a pity we have to think this way.

Whatever, though - the great and telling thing is, almost every single thread here becomes a pretty damn excellent argument for a need for GC feminism, whichever way it unravels (word chosen informedly, with an eye on many such!)

I agree that it's a pity. It really is .

But I won't sit back and see women genuinely pour their hearts out when I think the person prompting that has bad intentions.

I really like your posts and your outlook, so I hope you see this as it is intentioned.

It's that trans activists don't see biological sex as immutable reality. And while i hold gender critical beliefs, i still have thoughts "what if it isn't true? What if anyone can be a woman if they identify as such? What if I'm old fashioned and just believe something that will be outdated in several decades". That implies that there are no differences between men and women. That my biological sex is just something that doesn't matter. Sure, it's not the most important thing in my life, but being a woman is still a part of me. And someone blurring something that's actually a part of me or making it optional makes me feel distressed. What makes me feel even more distressed is that certain feautures are similar to those trans women have. I was just expressing my emotions and was curious if anyone had this feeling.

I didn't say anything about mothers or trans in the post you quoted.

Sorry, didn't mean to suggest you did. My response was only to the part about the thread taking a strange turn. IMO it was very strange from the off!

Note the OP name. Note the number of times 'distressed' is mentioned. Note the focus on breasts and breast-feeding.

This thread is obviously, bait for screenshots or might be in addition a self pleasuring activity. Just based on the posters responses.

Thanks betty for spotting it first

Just a minute. I posted my experience, which I've related on here before. Other women shared their differently relevant experiences. My best friend in the 1990s was frequently addressed as Sir by waiters, etc - I was there - for no better reason than she wore short hair and trouser suits. (No women made this mistake, btw; men often did.)

It's not really on to invalidate the issue as odd and ridiculous. We're telling you it's not.

I try to answer posts in a spirit of cautious good faith. I observe others doing the same. I agree it'd be wise for OP to get some support with her self-esteem.

I would (genuinely and respectfully) advise you that you should be discerning about which posts on this topic you decide to respond to.

(And as an aside, someone being referred to as Sir because men erroneously think they're a man because they have short hair and are wearing "male" clothing isn't, as far as I can see, really related to an [alleged] concern that a woman is being confused with a transwoman - is it?)

Why? What terrible things will befall me as a result of offering a little possible support to people - OPs or lurkers - on issues I can empathise with?

fair enough, nothing bad will happen to you. Personally I don't like to encourage bad actors but if you feel there's a benefit in sharing your (imo different) experience anyway then 💁

I don't think you're gender critical

What do you actually think it means?

OK, but women with this breast shape often do have a complex about it. They probably don't in the parts of the world where it is common, but it isn't in Europe or America, and isn't depicted in our media unless you're looking at bra fitting advice. They can feel like they're 'abnormal'.

Cailleach1 · 16/10/2026 22:22

This is rather a strange thread. Does anybody know what ‘tuberous’ breasts are, and why they are a problem when breastfeeding. Indeed why would they be like moobs on men. The mammary glands are what produce the milk after giving birth.

If one of the things you have in common with ‘transwomen’ is a penis and/or testicles (whether inside, outside, turned all about the house), that would certainly be a reason to feel less like a woman. In fact, you wouldn’t be a woman at all, as women don’t have these.
