Now that the BBC has been forced to accept their bias and everyone seems to be u-turning, on both gender and the Isreal/Palestine war, how can the Guardian continue to employ and therefore support the views of Owen Jones?

He could probably go to Africa and buy one like Madonna did.

Generally countries that don't allow gay marriage (like most African ones) also don't allow gay men to adopt.
If he really wanted to be a parent, then adoption within the UK is the way forward, but I suspect his public persona might make that a bit difficult for him.

Maybe he's looking for a surrogate.

I had thought he might try a co parenting gig with Laurie Penny

Does he have views on surrogacy?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/09/2026 16:18

EmpressaurusKitty · 28/09/2026 12:44

Oh yes. He said he was looking for lesbians to carry the child for him & got Very Cross again when women gave the obvious responses.

Yes he and some other misogynist were looking for “broody lesbians”

I think some people wanted to know why he wasn’t asking the Misses Willoughby & Madigan.

Well quite 😂

ArabellaSaurus · 29/09/2026 16:11

It's an interesting subject, but Jones is so utterly blinkered and reactive I can't imagine he has any depth of insight at all.

I’m guessing that he thinks it’s all fine and that women who disagree are evil right wingers/religious maniacs who hate gay people ( I don’t) /judge the choices of those who don’t want to carry their own child blah, blah, blah.

moto748e · 29/09/2026 18:50

That review reads a bit weird to me: 95% if it is an overview of the topics OJ is talking about (familiar to most readers, I'm sure), but it doesn't say anything about Jones' views and analysis? Does he have any?

moto748e · 15/10/2026 21:37

I think the labels 'left-wing' and 'right-wing' are pretty meaningless these days. They don't any more relate to economics primarily, as they always used to do. 'Left-wing' seems to mean, identity politics and the RSOH, and 'right-wing' pretty much everything else.

BeSpoonyTurtle · 16/10/2026 10:33

Jones is a busted flush. I doubt that even Guardian readers give a toss about what he thinks any more.

Things must be desperate for RSOH champ Owen to sully his credentials by appearing on a right wing podcast

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5587920-little-owen-jones-on-triggernometry

"Tired and refreshed"

Hasn't he also appeared on the Piers Morgan show and Jeremy Vine?

I think there might be money in being the token opposition view.

Lalgarh · 16/10/2026 11:23

He used to be a regular on sky papers review but isn't on it anymore. Instead they get regular appearances from Zoe Williams from the guardian which regularly turn into shouting matches

UnaPersson · 16/10/2026 11:44

I managed to listen to 10 minutes of OJ's pressured speech. He's very hard to listen to. So will never really know whether he has valid points to make.

Is it ADHD, or misdiagnosed ADHD where they give you uppers and it makes you hyper? Or is it nerves? It's unusual behaviour.

I find his irritable, self satisfied manner very off putting. I guess he makes his money being a sort of pseudo-informed ragebait, going by his youtube titles, in which he claims he DESTROYS people.

Lalgarh · 16/10/2026 16:21

He might be securing his "meds" off plan, as it were.

Apparently rampant coke use in the 80s led to a rash of middle aged people needing hip replacements in their 50s rather than late 60s+ BC it rots the bones and joints. Andy Bell from erasure has been fairly open about it happening to him

Wow, didn't know it affected bones and joints. I had heard it was causing heart events in younger-than-typical people.

It was very, very fashionable at one point (80's/90's as you say).

Requisite glowing Graun review of his Important New Book

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2026/sep/29/the-fall-of-the-west-by-owen-jones-review-a-bracing-history-of-the-changing-world-order

Tldr: everything is Tony Blairs fault

What was that Douglas Murray book called? The War On The West?

Is Owen trying to rebrand himself as the left wing Douglas Murray? What a thought 😂

Another awful post by AJ. Setting up screenshots to discredit the forum, maybe?
