This is fantastic. But I’m worried that it will all be pitched as the US Section 28.

As far as I’m concerned, trans ideology is Section 28 on steroids. However homophobic it was, Thatcher’s government never suggested that children who didn’t conform sufficiently to the social stereotypes of their own sex should be reassigned to the opposite sex, and men who joked about being lesbians back then were rightly regarded as creeps.

But I can still see it happening.

SionnachRuadh · 29/01/2025 08:30

Like that section taking aim at "sanctuary states" (looking at you, Tim Walz's Minnesota)

DeanElderberry · 29/01/2025 08:26

Who has co-ordinated the production of these EOs and commissioned the writers of them? I have only read the ones on gender issues so have no idea whether the others are equally well written (regardless of intention). I don't think President Trump was sitting there organising this for the last year, but someone clearly was.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 29/01/2025 08:12

There have been some very good EO's coming from the USA recently, like the Cass Report gave ammunition to those who were fighting this insanity, so these very clearly written EO's can be used to inform the fight in this and other country's.

The more bullets the better. 🤞😁

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 29/01/2025 07:51

What worries me is that enough minds haven't been changed in this issue and now they will dig their heels in rather than being persuaded this is right.

BreadInCaptivity · 29/01/2025 00:38

*GAC interventions not GAF.

BreadInCaptivity · 29/01/2025 00:36

He's not messing about here, this is a very comprehensive deconstruction of GI/GAC legislatively and institutionally.

I'm at pains to say I am on the same wavelength as Trump on anything but here we are.

There's got a be a lesson for "the left" (obviously loosely said in the US Democratic sense) here and I hope people start to take note.

I think so many people are "done" with this issue and being bullied into submission in the face of biological reality and lack of good research that the only way to put it to bed is to push back hard and unequivocally.

TRA tactics have misfired spectacularly due to any willingness to compromise or listen to the lived experience of anyone else (including detransitioners), to even acknowledge a tension of rights (with women), to brush off the many, many times male predators have used GI to undermine safeguarding and the lack of ethics due to substandard research on childhood GAF interventions.

Toseland · 29/01/2025 00:23

Brilliant - America has sneezed, let it spread around the world!

Enough4me · 29/01/2025 00:19

Trump is right on this one. Hopefully leaders in other countries take note.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/01/2025 00:15

Fantastic.

nocoolnamesleft · 29/01/2025 00:11

I despise Trump. But this looks like it will protect children. So for once I must approve.

TheFlyingHorse · 29/01/2025 00:09

Bloody hell. I'm delighted to see WPATH being chucked in the bin. Unfortunately misinformed people will doubtless object to this on political grounds despite this whole house of cards being built on "junk science".

JuneFTW · 29/01/2025 00:04

Thank you for sharing it here. Very punchy, and rightly so!

Lovelyview · 28/01/2025 23:58

This is amazing. Hope the ripples spread round the world.

NotBadConsidering · 28/01/2025 23:25

Not clear who wrote it.

Good to have lengthy statute of limitations. Also protects whistleblowers. Eithan Hazim’s case against him was recently dropped. Hopefully more people will speak out.

I like the title, even. Words that I have posted here and been reported and removed for. And now it’s clearly stated in an Executive Order from the White House.

It just keeps going!

"Sec. 5. Additional Directives to the Secretary of HHS. (a) The Secretary of HHS shall, consistent with applicable law, take all appropriate actions to end the chemical and surgical mutilation of children, including regulatory and sub-regulatory actions, which may involve the following laws, programs, issues, or documents:

(i) Medicare or Medicaid conditions of participation or conditions for coverage;

(ii) clinical-abuse or inappropriate-use assessments relevant to State Medicaid programs;

(iii) mandatory drug use reviews;

(iv) section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act;

(v) quality, safety, and oversight memoranda;

(vi) essential health benefits requirements; and

(vii) the Eleventh Revision of the International Classification of Diseases and other federally funded manuals, including the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition.

(b) The Secretary of HHS shall promptly withdraw HHS’s March 2, 2022, guidance document titled “HHS Notice and Guidance on Gender Affirming Care, Civil Rights and Patient Privacy” and, in consultation with the Attorney General, issue new guidance protecting whistleblowers who take action related to ensuring compliance with this order.

Sec. 6. TRICARE. The Department of Defense provides health insurance, through TRICARE, to nearly 2 million individuals under the age of 18. As appropriate and consistent with applicable law, the Secretary of Defense shall commence a rulemaking or sub-regulatory action to exclude chemical and surgical mutilation of children from TRICARE coverage and amend the TRICARE provider handbook to exclude chemical and surgical mutilation of children.

Sec. 7. Requirements for Insurance Carriers. The Director of the Office of Personnel Management, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, shall:

(a) include provisions in the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) and Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) programs call letter for the 2026 Plan Year specifying that eligible carriers, including the Foreign Service Benefit Plan, will exclude coverage for pediatric transgender surgeries or hormone treatments; and

(b) negotiate to obtain appropriate corresponding reductions in FEHB and PSHB premiums.

Sec. 8. Directives to the Department of Justice. The Attorney General shall:

(a) review Department of Justice enforcement of section 116 of title 18, United States Code, and prioritize enforcement of protections against female genital mutilation;

(b) convene States’ Attorneys General and other law enforcement officers to coordinate the enforcement of laws against female genital mutilation across all American States and Territories;

(c) prioritize investigations and take appropriate action to end deception of consumers, fraud, and violations of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by any entity that may be misleading the public about long-term side effects of chemical and surgical mutilation;

(d) in consultation with the Congress, work to draft, propose, and promote legislation to enact a private right of action for children and the parents of children whose healthy body parts have been damaged by medical professionals practicing chemical and surgical mutilation, which should include a lengthy statute of limitations; and

(e) prioritize investigations and take appropriate action to end child-abusive practices by so-called sanctuary States that facilitate stripping custody from parents who support the healthy development of their own children, including by considering the application of the Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act and recognized constitutional rights."

Do we know who wrote this yet?

Your bolded section is so important RE a lengthy statute of limitations. I was watching something recently with an American detransitioner and they mentioned that it was too late for them to take legal action due to that. Legal action will move the US health insurers on this issue like nothing else can.

Exactly. Looks like it has to get through Congress though. Not sure how that works but I'm sure one of our well-informed US women will be along to tell us at some point😊

Junk science, no less.

Trump is on fire with this issue. Good for him ( I hate everything he stands for otherwise)

I hate him a bit less today

Plasmodesmata · 28/01/2025 23:04

Interesting.

As many TRAs will tell you that this isn't happening to children, should be all fine to ban it?

TempestTost · 28/01/2025 23:02

teawamutu · 28/01/2025 22:52

Fuuuuuck.

So definitely no more State support - does that add up to a ban?

And do we think adult transition will be on the radar too?

It might still allow for private care, I think. I think an EO can only cover things the government does, at least that's how I understand it. I believe it would require legislation for an outright ban.

I'll bet that it would give insurance companies a nudge though, I suspect they are already worried about the impending legal entanglements so this may be enough that they stop covering this stuff too.

Professional associations could also ban it, that would be more normal, but they don't seem keen.
