Great news,

I am delighted to have reached settlement in my Employment Tribunal case for discrimination and victimisation in connection with Civil Service EDI initiatives.

DCMS and DSIT have agreed to pay £116k, and to make a statement committing to overhaul their HR policies.

DCMS is Lisa Nandy's department, I think.

Brilliant news. Another courageous woman helping to return a toxic civil service to being informed and rational.

SinnerBoy · 12/01/2025 09:11

Congratulations and well done for sticking to your guns. Again, I'm also upset that you were subject to an officially sanctioned campaign of bullying and harassment and pleased that you have had such an emphatic win.

Are you going to be reinstated?

Marylou62 · 12/01/2025 08:52

Adding my voice to say Thank You..

Well done. I was initially disappointed to hear that the timeline for the the revised Gender Reassignment policy until he end of the year. But looking at the date of the hearing (had there been no settlement) this would have been November 2025. Judgement in Spring 2026. Possible appeals. So this is relatively fast track. Quite a result for this SEEN and hopefully will have impact for other SEENs too.

The joint statement which says “by the end of the year” is dated December 2024. In December 2024, the end of the year is 31st December 2024.

If they meant end December 2025 for the policy to be issued, their statement should have said end of next year.

Thank you. You've done an amazing thing for women. I can't express how grateful I am to you for pursuing this.

Helleofabore · 12/01/2025 05:29

Congratulations Eleanor!

That sex matters run down is a cracker. What a shit fight of a mess the policy document was. And how interesting it was to see who was behind parts of it. And a man with a penchant for kimonoes gave yet another great legal opinion as well.

The interconnections between the policymakers and the lobby groups are being laid out over time. It is truly something to see as a warning to not allow it to happen again.
