What is going on here.
Why are they so determined to support LGBTYS and trans young people - who is driving this?

So this is who we are to fly the trans flag for:

A violent, abusive man who stalked a 13 year old girl.

ArabellaScott · 28/12/2024 13:03

Ah, Scott was apparently named in the Scottish event to mark a day of remembrance for Trans people.

https://archive.ph/5Krxb

'Feminist campaigners said the only Scot included in the official list of those being <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/5Krxb/www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/01/28/nicola-sturgeon-under-fire-another-trans-prisoner-womens-jail/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">commemorated was Tiffany Scott, who was one of the UK’s most violent inmates before the 32-year-old’s death earlier this year.

Scott, who was previously known as Andrew Burns, had been convicted of a <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/5Krxb/www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/01/30/keith-brown-nicola-stugeon-justice-secretary-trans-criminals/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">string of offences, including stalking a 13-year-old girl from behind bars by sending letters.
The criminal came out as transgender in 2016 but is understood never to have begun any physical transitioning nor to have possessed a gender recognition certificate.'

"There were half as many cases in Europe this year* *compared to last year (2024: 8; 2023: 16)" (TMM data)

If the figure is 8 across the whole of Europe, it should be easy to identify which of the 8 occurred in Scotland.

Not true. Granted the statistics in the article only mention Europe as a whole but you can't categorically state that no one in Scotland has been killed.

OK, which trans people have been murdered in Scotland?

ArabellaScott · 28/12/2024 12:51

Tiffany Scott died in jail this year. But no suggestion of this being due to violence.

I just looked up the Fatal Accident Enquiry, which states Scott died due to 'opiate intoxication' and 'sharp force injuries to abdomen'. He's recorded as 'female', btw.

Tiffany Scott

Trans prisoner Tiffany Scott dies in jail

The 32-year-old, previously known as Andrew Burns, was the subject of a lifelong restriction order.

@SparklyTurtle please. We would never have heard the end of it if a trans person had been murdered in Scotland.

Huh?
Equally, you can't categorically state that anyone in Scotland has been killed.
The article proves nothing about Scotland.

Its hard to take that article seriously when its based on TGEU rhetoric that states in its key findings

"Consistent with previous years, 94% of the reported murders were femicides, i.e* the victims were trans women or transfeminine people." *(their bolding)

and

"These figures offer only a brief snapshot of the actual situation. Many cases remain unreported or misreported due to misgendering," (their bolding)

They also talk about these unnamed anti trans organisations.
A majorly biased organisation.

This article makes no mention of Scotland at all? So what are you basing your assertion on?

FFS. Not a single trans person in Scotland has lost their life to violence.

350 Transgender People Murdered In 2024: ‘Will The Violence Ever End?’

Nearly one third of those murdered were under the age of 25, in a year with a "significant increase" in the number of murders

FFS. Someone in the DM comments section made the very good point about Scotland having the highest drug related deaths in Europe. Perhaps they could instead commemorate all the people who have lost their lives because of addiction this year (and who were actually living in Scotland) and concentrate their resources and efforts on doing something about that.

ArabellaScott · 27/12/2024 07:42

There are strict rules about which flags can be flown from govt buildings. Only a handful are approved.

chattyness · 27/12/2024 07:03

I don't understand why they are doing this are they flying flags for any other victims of violence? No they are not so wtf?

kiterunning · 27/12/2024 06:58

What the fuck has happened to Scotland?

IwantToRetire · 27/12/2024 00:30

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 26/12/2024 23:43

FFS. Not a single trans person in Scotland has lost their life to violence.

How many flags would they have to fly if they were to be as willling to show the same respect for the number of women who are killed each week by a former or current partner.

And this is the time of year because of families being "together" at Christmas that this is a high risk time for women.

Dont they see how absurd their posturing is, and how insulting it is to genuine victims of violence.

It's the SNP so not a surprise. They've lost their marbles.
