I'm thinking of starting a drinking game based on the word "banned".
See also "obsessed".
All my festive stash of booze will be gone long before Christmas.

Can we add “genocide” a la Emily Bridges’ insta-rant?

If he's looking for sympathy then he can find it between shit and syphilis.

ODFOD Mr Davidson.

oh boo-fucking-hoo. My heart bleeds...not.

And what biological woman lost out on their legitimate place in the competition due to him qualifying? Let's hope the wronged woman now has her appropriate placing.

LPGA...maybe they're starting to listen and wisen up to all the batshit ideology.

TWETMIRF · 10/12/2024 22:12

It's quite sad to class blatant cheating and harming women as your greatest achievement

ArabellaScott · 10/12/2024 21:39

Big cheating chap needs to get a new hobby.

HaddyAbrams · 10/12/2024 19:53

Imagine the greatest achievement of your entire life being something you only got by cheating.

Its actually quite sad.

That jumped out to me as well. He really doesn't see women as fully realised humans with as much inner life as himself at all does he?

We are just scenery to be deployed his own drama of self realisation, NPCs who will continue to play our scripted parts regardless of how the Real People change the context in which we do it.

Even as the changes trans people demand make those parts meaningless (what is the reason for the existence of women's sports, or women's anything, if anyone can be a woman?) they assume we won't question anything, that we will just carry on as their props because that's what women do, right?

Fundamentally, their definition of woman is the people who do the woman-only things. So the idea that if supposedly women-only things no longer work for women we might just ... stop, is outside their comprehension.

Interesting viewpoint. Thanks. I had just thought that he isn't really aware of how he impacts anyone else - only he seems to matter. But you may well be right that the people impacted being women means that they don't count, and that he wouldn't dismiss men quite so readily.

My experience of trans identity thinking is that trans people are in some sense "special" and the rest of us need to go along with their specialness. Those most deeply into the ideology actually seem to see us as evil. I have a trans friend who accepts that I am not inherently a bad person just because I have a different understanding of sex and gender. I also know a trans ally who is very extreme and appears to see me as a harmful person; just what I am about to do is never spelt out, but my difficulties with using compelled language and my wrongthink are sufficient evidence that I am at best a bigot who needs to repent, and at worst an evil irredeemable conservative transphobe (my actions point to something a bit more complex than that, but inconvenient facts are to be ignored).

"me, the only active golfer who is actually affected by these policy changes"

... apart from all the women he competes against.

Every time I see that 'greatest achievement' quote I feel another shot of rage at how deluded he is to think taking a place from a woman is any kind of achievement at all.

Grammarnut · 10/12/2024 09:25

Entitled man. And he can't try for the Men's Open or men's golf tournaments because he isn't good enough - but he can beat women because he has all the advantages of being male. Twerp and double-twerp. Go away.

Beowulfa · 10/12/2024 09:24

Lance Armstrong's line is that he didn't cheat, because the dictionary definition of cheating is "to gain an unfair advantage". As everyone was on drugs, his only advantage was being really good at doing drugs.

I recommend the biography Cycle of Lies, even if you're not into cycling, as an intriguing portrait of a sociopath and the system that enabled him. His recovery from cancer helped deflect a lot of criticism; "you can't question the integrity of someone who's had cancer!!!" Puts me in mind of today's breaking story about the sex pest misogynists in charge of Pink News; "you can't question the integrity of that nice well-spoken gay couple!!!"

Helleofabore · 10/12/2024 09:15

Just the manipulative language alone in Davidson's statements are a grand indication of the sex of this person.

And the reference to Davidson's birthday disappointment was just the framing that was needed.

Igmum · 10/12/2024 08:46

Good.

Good.

Good.

Now strip him of his previous awards and give them to the women who actually belong in that category.

FranticFrankie · 09/12/2024 21:53

AstonUniversityPotholeDepartment · 09/12/2024 21:45

Didn't Lance Armstrong say something similar?

😂😂
You've all said it. Though I did especially like this from @lcakethereforeIam :

"If he can survive being misgendered by his surname I'm sure he'll be fine".

Coming soon to a golf course near you: Hailey Davidson transitions to Hailey Davidsdottir.

Oh noes! So female golfer’s achievements are not as worthy in this male golfer’s mind.

DuesToTheDirt · 09/12/2024 20:10

I wonder if he was particularly pleased with his "achievement" not just because he won a competition, but because he won in the women's group and was therefore validated in his identity as a woman.

RaininSummer · 09/12/2024 19:16

What a shame for him 😂
