The really have lost the plot - how can anyone justify prioritising men with a fetish over the safeguarding of children?

EXCLUSIVE: Canadian Mother Was Told To Be More "Inclusive" After Complaining About A Male Wearing A "Child's Bikini" While Showering With Young Girls At Her Local Pool - Reduxx

The mother of a young girl in British Columbia, Canada, is speaking out after a man in a pink, sparkly bikini — adorned with sparkles, frills and princess tiaras — was found showering in the female changing room of her local public pool. After reportin...

Your observations, coloured by your own bias, are unasked for and I shall be disregarding them.

Ditto!

You are wasting everyone's valuable time and energy. You have landed yourself in a situation in which you cannot function or engage in a meaningful or constructive way.

Why would anyone call the police if someone isn't breaking the law?

Because they feel unsafe and instinctively recognise that a boundary has been breached......yet they find themselves in a dystopian world where the authorities will suggest to them they are being hateful for feeling unsafe and compromised, maybe?

What other recourse does a woman or girl have if someone is violating their space?

I've just logged on and have been reading back over the exchanges that have occured since yesterday. I'm offering you my observation.

You are doing the same thing now.....rather than seeking genuine, honest and open dialogue you are being confrontational and refusing to engage in thoughtful, meaningful or constructive dialogue. So it has just become overly personalised.

If youn engage with the content of the discussion, rather than focussing on persons it would be better all around.

Strawman.

Explain what you mean.....How am i supposed to understand the point you are making. This is not twitter......it is a discussion board.

PinkChesnut · 22/11/2024 08:25

I stated a boundary. It was direct and clear regarding the manner I would not accept being spoken to.

Why is that a problem for you?

Self id isnt a free pass to behave like a creep. Peeking under stalls or making inappropriate comments/staring/touching w/out consent would be reason to call the law. I would not hesitate to call the police on anyone behaving in an inappropriate manner in a bathroom or changeroom, trans or not.

So, you do understand that permitting male people into female changing areas or other spaces that are predicated on the nature of female body or function is a safeguarding risk?

This is why we have single sex spaces in the first place...so to eliminate that particular element of risk. A man doesn't even have to be overtly violent or pervy for a woman to feel uncomfortable or to have her privacy violated. Just the presence of a man in a space which exists for the dignity and privacy of women and girls is enough.

I can see several people have tried to engage with you in a civilised and respectful manner.......but even when people address you in such a way, ask you to further elaborate your claims and assertions....you get stroppy.
How can there be a meaningful discussion when one party refuses to engage fully?

It's the last section of the site I linked.

I do not appreciate it when someone addresses me in an antagonistic or condescending manner. Please be respectful.

Being gay, an immigrant or a woman doesn't absolve a person from responsibility for their actions, behaviours or abuses; nor does it preclude investigation into any of the above.

Strawman.

PinkChesnut · 22/11/2024 01:58

The link I had contained one example in particular of a story that had zero proof.

What sort of proof would you require?

Shortshriftandlethal · 22/11/2024 08:16

PinkChesnut · 22/11/2024 01:54

https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Reduxx

Anyone peddling conspiracy theories about immigrants and gay people in general are not pro-women.

I am a woman immigrant, and the number of policies I run up against that are exclusively designed to target and hurt women in immigration law alone are insane.

Your integrity isn't even relevant to the discussion, I'm not suggesting anything about it.

Did you have any specific criticisms of Reduxx's reporting?

To have a valid criticism you'd have to have done some investigation yourself.

Whatever @PurpleSparkledPixie This is the salacious DM I sent you:

Hi there! I have given some thought to the comments on this thread. I swore to myself I would not continue to interact on this thread and reported some posts to MN for the personal attacks. That is why MN deleted some posts. This is what I think. I do agree that there are some troubling issues with trans people using changerooms. I don't agree that anyone born male should be able to compete against females, just because they identify as female. However, I will note that the case in Barrie was an open competition -- it is open to all ages as an opportunity for anyone to just get an official time for their speciality. That open meet is not going to jeopardize any young girl from getting a place on a team or whatever. My issue that I raised on that thread in particular was that the source of the story is very troubling. I went to one of the best journalism schools in Canada in the 90s and I am a lawyer. I care very much about journalistic integrity and truth. I believe we can have conversations about trans issues without resorting to hyperbole and exaggeration. I don't think it helps to call someone a flying monkey and suggest they have bad intentions because they point out that the person reporting a story is not a journalist and seems to hate trans people or that the editor of a publication formerly worked for an organization that I personally know planted "instigators" or activists into situations in order to perpetuate their narratives.

Stop @ ing me and I will leave you all alone. Like, forever.

Lots of these organisations and publications ( Sex Matters/Transgender Trend/Reduxx/Fair Play for Women )etc were creating by interested/concerned women from many and various backgrounds...so whilst they may not be professional journalists, they are very dedicated ,and motivated, to uncovering the facts. Reduxx is doing a fantastic job at uncovering the sordid truth of the abuses that abound.

If professional journalists had been doing their job, some of the burden of investigation would be lifted.

I'm so tempted to produce a 'TRA's on Mumsnet' bingo card, and I swear, the centre tile will be 'I have LOADS of evidence but I'm not going to tell you, because you're mean'

Toddlers have better reasoning abilities.

Salacious?

Journalism school? Lawyer?

Really?

NecessaryScene · 22/11/2024 07:13

It is about ThePublic, run by the exact same person. They're sister sites. You can presume a lack of integrity from one infects the other, it's all from the same house.

Is there any evidence for this? It really doesn't ring true to me at all - ThePublica is not remotely Slatz's style at all - it doesn't seem remotely credible.

The only place I can find that stated is on that "RationalWiki" site which is far less reliable than Reduxx itself. Not even Wikipedia can bring themselves to say that.

It would be dreadfully ironic if people were just making stuff up to discredit for Reduxx "making up" something that actually happened.

Waitwhat23 · 22/11/2024 06:37

So, on this thread, the main arguments from the 'it didn't happen' posters are -

'It's too crazy to happen' (despite many just as batshit previous examples having been established)

'Reduxx = bad, RationalWiki = good for sources' (really? Bloody hell)

DM'ing other posters rather than discussing on thread (very poor form btw)

And accusing a poster who has asked questions in a perfectly polite way to be 'respectful'.

It's almost amusing to see the desperate scrabblings as this batshittery collapses worldwide.

NotBadConsidering · 22/11/2024 05:12

Ok, maybe someone like Sleepydoor can provide an example, given the initial request was to them before your example petered out.

What I find fascinating is the repetitive need to pour scorn on the source of the reporting to try and undermine the veracity of the story, as if to try and obscure the fact a man was in the women’s changing rooms in a sparkly swim suit. Reduxx know people will do anything they can to stop this sort of thing coming to light.

PinkChesnut · 22/11/2024 05:05

NotBadConsidering · 22/11/2024 05:00

I asked for an example of Reduxx getting a story wrong.

You replied to me, with a link to a website that has its own biases.

It doesn’t indicate any example of a story Reduxx has got wrong. The website you linked questions one article by someone other than Reduxx.

I have not been remotely antagonistic, condescending or infringed on any personal boundary. You are inferring this from my comments because I am making it clear in my posts that your attempt to provide an example of Reduxx getting a story wrong is a load of nonsense. You can’t back up your claim. Your argument is anything but robust. You don’t like someone, so you’ve inferred that everything that person has ever been in contact with is unreliable. It’s a poor argument overall.

We disagree. That's fine.

Aberentian · 22/11/2024 05:00

@PinkChesnut erm in the story that's actually being reported in the article, not the one posted further down, there was no peeking, touching etc so what grounds would the staff have had to call police? Do you not read very well?

Why would anyone call the police if someone isn't breaking the law?

It's your manner of request, not the fact that you are making a request, I take issue with. Stating a personal boundary is not a reflection of the robustness of my argument.

I am asking a simple question. Can you give an example of a story Reduxx has got wrong?

You say it’s in the last section of the site you link. But the last section of the site you linked is about ThePublica. So you need to provide clarity on what you are referring to. Just what the story is about would be a start.

If you find it antagonistic or condescending to be asked to back up your claim, perhaps your claim isn’t as robust as you think it is.
