Khelif is now seeking to become professional...presumably in the female category.

Hoppinggreen · 04/11/2024 13:11

Boys whose gender may be slightly ambiguous at birth don't just happen to find themselves in womens sport at a high level and being very successful.
There are unscrupulous coaches and sporting organisations who look for these people and deliberately push them to train and compete.
As well as the IOC etc it should be these people who are stopped

No surprises for the women of this board- we have seen it before.

Receiving such a diagnosis must have been very very tough but she had good, sensitive, compassionate medical advice which she chose to ignore. She must have known the truth would out and that the humiliation of the public discussing such private matters wouldn't make up for the high of the medal. I wonder if she's in denial? Or maybe being encouraged/ pushed by family and coaches? Or cynically in for whatever she can get?

I'm sad and angry at the path she has chosen. The images of a man punching a woman against a background of cheering crowds are the worst thing I've ever seen at the Olympics.

What absolute bollocks (lol). He’s just a cheat.

Not everyone - several people I talked to about this had no idea, and in fact would not believe it.

My opinion is they did know but virtue signalling was more important to them.

peanutbuttertoasty · 04/11/2024 13:08

Shocking absolutely nobody!

Societal gaslighting of the highest order. His defendants (and I include people on here) should be ashamed of themselves. But they won’t be.

Same DSD as Caster Semenya: 5-ARD.

These guys keep showing up in women's sport and are so brazen about it even when they know fine well that they're male.

There is an obvious incentive for sports promotors to seek out similar people.

In the absence of chromosome testing, and with defining women's categories in sport by testosterone levels, they are more likely to win and are less of a risk.

Helleofabore · 04/11/2024 13:01

I look forward to the new World Boxing (as opposed to World Boxing Corporation) releasing their sex category participation rules which, I think, are due soon now that this leak is out. I suspect that it will be very difficult for them to allow these boxer’s inclusion now. But they might double down. They might try to fob people off with the ‘we will review further as more science becomes available’.

I hope that WB puts a stop to this though. Imagine being a female boxer scheduled to bout with Khelif. It must be very stressful.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 04/11/2024 12:59

The gender ideologues will still not accept this though. They're too far down the rabbit hole.

Would be better if someone other than redduxx picked it up.

NewGreenDuck · 04/11/2024 12:55

Gosh! Well who would have thought it? 😕 Next please can the Olympics committee do something about their appalling treatment of the females this man was allowed to abuse?

I'm sorry, but can you possibly be this naive?

However, much though I'd love to stick the Reduxx article up on my social media, I got slapped down last time I cited something on that site by two of my friends who thought it was 'a bit dodgy' (they are fully paid up TWAW) and now I just think - pffft. I'm tired of pointing out to friends who are entrenched in their blind Be Kind mindsets. I'll have to hope this news hits the media across the board and 'legitimises' it. (and they still won't believe it.)

In your place, I'd post it anyway, with bit about what it shows. If they're too pig headed to understand, or believe it, then that's on them.

And yeah, another one here who is completely unsurprised by this information. I also have no problem with it being revealed, he knows he's a man, but denies it, when it's expedient for him.

OldCrone · 04/11/2024 12:48

There's an article about Khelif in the Independent today, but it doesn't mention this report.

They think that genetic testing would be harmful to the male people with DSDs. They don't mention how not testing is harmful to the female competitors. Women don't matter to them. Men should have everything they want.

Mandatory genetic testing in sport ‘not justified, ethical or viable’, say academics

Safety and fairness in female sport was one of the most prominent topics at this year’s Olympic Games

Genuine question: is Reduxx a legitimate source? I’ve not come across it before. I don’t want to go around quoting a source that is not legitimate. Have any other news outlets picked this up?

I think what happened in the Olympics is appalling and people with XY chromosomes should not be in women's sport and I am also a huge advocate for safe women's spaces - but I think publishing someone's private medical records is appalling too.

Proving a bloke is a bloke isn't private medical records. If he hadn't pretended to be female he wouldn't have had this problem.

The IOC and other sporting authorities do nothing to stop "people with XY chromosomes" taking part in women's sport and, more relevantly, suppress any evidence they have of this happening. So how else do you suggest it be brought out into the open so that people know what:s going in and can express their objection to it?

PronounssheRa · 04/11/2024 12:27

I think publishing someone's private medical records is appalling too.

I agree to a point, but when there is a cover up, including the IOC and that cover up can harm women, I fear this was the only way the truth would out.

lcakethereforeIam · 04/11/2024 11:30

This bit

The report concludes by recommending Khelif be referred for “surgical correction and hormone therapy,” to help him physically align with his self-perceived gender identity, and adds that psychological support would be required because the results had caused a “very significant neuropsychiatric impact.”

made me have the slightest soupçon of sympathy for him. I can only think because I'm a little soft in the head. Then I read back, the tests were done in 2923, and any sympathy I had evaporated.

However, I don't think he's the real or, maybe, only villain here. He was enabled, even encouraged by a whole rotten apparatus.

Then there's the other guy, Taiwan's Lin Yu-ting. Khelif doesn't seem to have been the only male cheat in the boxing. I don't think it's right that Lin Yu-ting should escape scrutiny. I'm not sure why that's happened.

Because up until the time the report came through he thought all girls had testicles?

Boiledbeetle · 04/11/2024 12:22

The “ hormonal exploration ” reveals a “male type testosterone level of 14.7”, while the female gender does not exceed the maximum level of 3.

In other news bears do indeed shit in the woods

On a more serious note the IOC are a disgrace to let this happen, as is IK for going along with it knowing that women could get seriously hurt.

duc748 · 04/11/2024 12:20

And no sympathy for IK himself (and even less for the Taiwanese boxer), he has been pretty brazen and cynical. But the IOC come out of this as the real shits. They are the complete antithesis of what the Olympic spirit is supposed to be about.

duc748 · 04/11/2024 12:15

All this is to no-one's surprise, but all the people who were screaming about it on SM and claiming IK as some heroic victim of prejudice won't believe it when it's in Reduxx. Maybe, just maybe, if it was plastered all over the BBC and the Guardian...

Freydo · 04/11/2024 12:13

Good. I had a row with my woke DD who insisted he was a woman. She later consulted with her ‘non-binary’ friend who despite being woker than woke, also thought he was a man!

lcakethereforeIam · 04/11/2024 12:12

There should be mandatory chromosome/sex testing, because I'm feeling generous, some immediate help available for the athletes that might fail. Some of them may genuinely not have an earthly that they're genetically male.
