Is it time for feminists to turn to the Tories?
https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/is-it-time-for-feminists-to-turn-to-the-tories/

JB seems to have only just caught up with what has been an active discussion on FWR not only in the lead up to the election but for months before.

Never quite sure why papers, blogs etc., bother with chasing "names" to write for them, when they could just publish the link to one of the many relevent and thought leading threads on FWR!

Is it time for feminists to turn to the Tories?

Should feminists like me hold their nose and team up with the Tories? It's a dilemma many of those concerned about the transgender debate face

Not forgetting that the GRA was passed in 2004.

And who was Prime Minister then?

I can beleive anyone irrespective of the article itself is still trying to say it was the tories wot started it.

If it hadn't been for the Tories responding to all those who wrote in, etc., about the proposed ammendments to the GRA (ie slef id) we would have had it by now.

And KB is the only minister who has stood up and defended women's sex based rights.

It is Labour who had clung to the rainbow directive of self id and now we are going to get it.

And now doubt the same people who can only ever say it is all the tories fault will blame the tories when Labour bring is self id.

Thanks for dragging yet another thread down into groundhog day nonsense.

But maybe that's the point.

To bog down on an irrelevant and untrue point to stop a discussion moving forward and evolving.

So the title is just click bait?

It might help to read the article and then you could actually talk about what she said.

I'm sometime tempted to add to an OP please only comment when you have read the article.

It is almost like there is some AI thingy reacting to each new thread on FWR and with the AI generated article.

I get that @lonelywater, but this thread is about. JB's view that feminists should turn to the Tories.

"But <<insert female>> Labour MP" isn't an answer. What benefit can feminists get from "turning to the Tories" right now?

thats not my reading of the article. I think she is simply saying that labour is not to be trusted much (if at all) and some tories (Kemi for one) are more attuned to planet earth-which is why some feminists are looking to them rather than labour. She is clear the she personally will not be voting tory.

I didn't say anyone should-just positing a reason why labour are not to be trusted on gender woo.

Fair enough, but there are a many influential gender mentalists in the Tories, too - although thankfully a lot of them have now left the Commons. I expect to see some of them rear their heads in the House of Lords at some point though.

But why turn to the Tories?

What do they bring to the table apart from chaos and failure?

Who?

Dawn Butler, Kate Osbourne and Nadia Whittome. Gender mentalists all.

Who?

TooBigForMyBoots · 20/10/2024 02:14

The Tories? Who inflicted the trans shitshow on us, lost the election and are still a chaotic, infighting mess? Them Tories?

Why would anyone in their right mind turn to them for anything?🤯

Edited

"Why would anyone turn to them"? Whittome, Butler, Osbourne et al-thats why.

Ithink this all the time, you read articles in really well known, big newspapers, and I think, Jesus, I know six people who could write something far better in about 20 minutes.

Who gives them these jobs?

Anyway, I am surprised to see JB even ask the question. She's always seemed to be one of those silly people who assume that conservatives are all out to deliberately step on the neck of women. Notwithstanding the many women among their numbers.

username3678 · 20/10/2024 02:08

Ridiculous article. The gender ideology invasion took seed under the Tories and flourished under them. Badenoch wrung her hands and did nothing.

Single issue voters are often blinkered, I've seen 'feminists' talk about voting for Trump and Farage. Now they want to vote for a hard right Tory who admires Thatcher.
