Just seen on X. #TERFDayofVisibility proposed for 10th October because it's X X in Roman numerals. Suggested that women in support all over the world should wear red. Symbolic but also not as political as suffragette colours for those who need to be careful at work. I think I'll give this a go. https://x.com/sappholives83/status/1837232379179544598?t=wUUgCHATTW_qZ2O6c4z8NQ&s=19

I'm not planning on leaving the house today, but am suitably dressed regardless!

Pretty socks!

Rather elderly now! White Stuff, I think. It will be a sad day when they finally wear out.

Red t-shirt and cardigan. Suffragette socks, although no one else will see those.

I am going to trawl the chalaza for a red jumper today as I don’t have anything red. I’ll save it and wear it yearly to celebrate XX.

Red nails and reddish magenta jumper ❌❌

What about women with Turners Syndrome? They have one full X and either a missing or partial second X chromosome? They are definitely considered women.

Well, X Day would have to be the tenth of every month or all of October - and would in fact include men.

PPs have given sensible replies to this bit of whataboutery. This one's to highlight that even if you had a valid point, it wouldn't be worth making.

Shouldn't you be off making offensive signs for the next Trans Day/Week/Month of Visibility/Remembrance/Pride?

Anyone else out there planning to wear red?

MarieDeGournay · 08/10/2024 17:30

Just a bit of fun - there's a memorable photo of the legendary Doc Stock looking uber-cool, wearing red socks.
I confess that I thought 'Hey, why don't I start wearing red socks, I might look uber-cool too' and I just thought perhaps somebody else was as taken with the red-socks-photo as I wasGrin
As you were. Derail over!

SinnerBoy · 08/10/2024 16:41

It's subtly clever, XX - 10/10, isn't it?

I think I know why you own red socks, KStockHERO, I remember that photo tooWink

Am I right?

I am completely confused. I don't think I am who you think I am. Sorry 😂

Villagetoraiseachild · 08/10/2024 11:28

Red socks here. Hoping to spot some other wimmins wearing red on Thursday.
Glad to be reading this morning time, the two pronged penis dance is potentially nightmare inducing!

I'm in. I don't own much red stuff but I'll dig out my red and grey checked shirt. And wear red socks.

We've been asked to wear yellow for mental health awareness on 10/10.

Livinginaclock · 07/10/2024 16:22

I have a red Birdy Rose hoody, so I'll be wearing that.

I highly doubt it's going to be an issue in most U.K. workplaces.

Besides, it's just an item of clothing that just happens to be red, right?
Those unfortunately enough to be in dodgy work situations should now start practising a wide-eyed innocent look..Hmm

I've worked for multinational companies and would never have had any idea that I shouldn't wear red on particular days, plus I'm fairly obviously not actually Chinese or Taiwanese so I doubt anyone would have thought I was wearing a red dress for that reason Confused

Mine is American and is all about the sensitivity and inclusivity while selling technology to some of the worst human rights abusers in the world.
