4 wide eyed innocent questions for GC women

KielderWater · 28/08/2024 15:12

  1. Do you believe all GC women agree that northern women make the best Yorkshire pudding batter due to their aggression?
  2. I know a left wing woman who thinks the milk should go in before the tea, is this abhorrent behaviour a left wing thing and will you disassociate yourself from the left because of it?
  3. Brambles mostly reproduce asexually. How many subspecies do you think there are?
  4. Is my husband gender nonconformist because he hung up the washing? Should I be worried he might start keeping track of the family’s birthdays next?

Happy to answer your questions too.

I live too far south to make Yorkshire puddings. I have to buy Uncle Bessie's.
I put the rubbish out every week whilst my partner is currently cooking a roast dinner. Are we GC, trans, or just spicy straights?

I decree though that ONLY northern gravy can ever be put on chippy chips - I mean the dark black, slightly spicy, cut it with a knife gravy - anything else is just sad

I've never had Norvern Gwavy, guvnor.

I oww'a get myself Norwf this Au'umm, treacle.

OP reminded me of something a biology teacher once told me, there was some bloke with a bramble obsession travelling the country cataloguing all the tiny variations between different plants. Which explained something I'd noticed in my copy of Fitter, Fitter and Blamey, 'Very variable scrambling shrub armed with easily detachable thorns; over 2000 microspecies have been described'. Considering my copy was printed in 1980 if he's still going there could be tens of thousands by now. Possibly nearly as many as there are genders!

Chai is also boiled. Tea, spices and milk boiled/simmered together.

Edited

I don't drink tea normally but do make chai sometimes. I boil the tea and spices together in water and then add the milk and double boil it. No idea if that's the proper way to do it, but it tastes lovely.

DeanElderberry · 28/08/2024 16:11

Long ago I worked on an archaeological site where the man who made the tea for the 'workers' (it was all a bit men-and-officers) used to boil the tea with the milk and sugar already added. Always in the same kettle. He was very offended when a group of his younger colleagues staged a revolution and got their own kettle. They missed out in cold weather, when he'd add a slug of whiskey to his brew.

Meg is a "non binary" woman.

GailBlancheViola · 28/08/2024 16:10

Who was it who said that Northern women were a subset of women like trans women except more aggressive? (I might be paraphrasing a bit).

Meg-John Barker partner of Edward Lord. He wrote it in a Guide for Counsellors on Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity.

A Russian friend once taught me about boiling tea. Said it was used as a stimulant in the Gulag, and he and his friends had stumbled across it to use for all-nighters in their uni days. Yes, that's boiling the actual tea. Bring water to a boil, throw in tea leaves, keep at a boil for a few minutes.

The good thing about the brambles' confusing carry-on is that different sorts have different sized berries and come in at different times so if you know your local hedgerows you'll have in idea which crop early, which late, which produce the sweetest berries for eating with cream and which have the best berries for jam. Unless you're a deranged person I mean splitter I mean serious botanist always hanging around with secateurs and hand lenses and dichotomous keys and missing the real point of Rubus fruticosus agg.

Do you believe all GC women agree that northern women make the best Yorkshire pudding batter due to their aggression?

Absolutely. I bow to the superiority of the Northern Ladies of the Yorkshire Pud and demand everyone else do too.

I know a left wing woman who thinks the milk should go in before the tea, is this abhorrent behaviour a left wing thing and will you disassociate yourself from the left because of it?

Utterly abhorrent and utterly left wing. As is putting jam on your scone first.

Brambles mostly reproduce asexually. How many subspecies do you think there are?

Dunno, but a google rabbit hole has just confirmed that my gorgeous dahlias reproduce asexually. I’m not sure how I feel about them now. Does that make them transplants?

Is my husband gender nonconformist because he hung up the washing? Should I be worried he might start keeping track of the family’s birthdays next?

OMG, my husband often does the housework. For years I thought it was a passive aggressive temper tantrum because I wasn’t womaning properly, so I usually let him get on with it and pour myself a glass of wine (or Gin Cocktail, more recently). Was he trans all along?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/08/2024 16:04

I hang tops by the shoulders (man) because I find it makes my washing on the line look more aesthetically pleasing (woman) so maybe I'm non binary!

  1. do you steep or brew your tea?

You've left out an option, I have heard tea is 'mashed' in certain areas.

I would only ever put vinegar on chippy chips myself, but I want to be inclusive towards the gravy chip community.

Are you sure it isn’t ‘non-brewed condiment’?

  1. *surely you will just make the same species if you are reproducing asexually. I assume by parthogenesis?

Aphids reproduce by pathnogenesis until they need to mix things up a bit so produce some males. Brambles reproduce by vegetatively like buttercups and clover in your lawn.

Chippie sauce also approved. Unless this needs a 2/3 majority.

A full selection of condiments for all of womenkind!

And tartare sauce to come in bigger sachets.

I always mash tea. Not sure where that word came from as my family come from Yorkshire, Hertfordshire and Middlesex but lived in the Midlands. However I do like strong tea but is that Yorkshire or builders 🤔

@KielderWater upside down is fine, as long as he isn't wasting line space by hanging them landscape instead of portrait. How is he hanging T shirts?

I hang mine landscape on the rotary because otherwise as they rotate they get caught on the, wait for it, brambles. True story.

Following on from this.

  1. how far north do you live?
  2. do you steep or brew your tea?

1 Level with about half way up Labrador

2 I make it

I'm a single parent -mainly because I am a man hating harpy - but I brew - I'm from Liverpool

2 of my 3 female children started playing football so naturally I started buying male school uniform and changed their names to Zak and Ace - I'm not an animal ffs

Also I would bring back hanging for people, how ever they identify, who hang washing by the shoulders - bastards
