Just saw this on threads. How is it ok. To wish someone dead? How is that being on "the right side of history"?
I disagree with lots of people on various things. I've never thought "I'd rather hear s/he is dead"

Ooh! Mystic Meg's on MN! The cleaners will laugh and say she's right and the sun will shine every Saturday and there'll be rainbows every morning and the clouds will be candy floss. My prediction is more likely to come true than yours. Mark my words.

I joined a Facebook group called Fight the Patriarchy, thinking it would be pro women, instead there are multiple posts foaming at the mouth about JKR, and fawning over trans women. I considered posting my views but ended up just leaving the group. I can't understand why a group supposedly supporting women don't think men pretending to be women are a threat, and that they need women to defend them. A bit short sighted to say the least, and disappointing.

Oh yes, I see this delusion all over the place in genderist-aligned discourse.

They genuinely believe it.

The logic is something like...

"Patriachy imposed limitations on women"
"Patriachy hates masculine women and feminine men"
"So if we say women can be male it is like saying fuck the patriarchy!"

The fact that giving "womanhood" to men is just a relabelling of men that benefits the relabelled men but does fuck all good and quite a lot bad for actual women, and therefore troubles the actual patriarchy power dynamic not one iota appears to be beyond them.

I hear they're taking her house and turning it into a troll farm Residential IT Training Centre telling off mumsnet FWR posters focusing on online education.
JK is getting a place in the Banana Flats and will have to sign apology letters to India to pay her rent.
All terribly sad, but it's all she deserves

RoyalCorgi · 25/08/2024 15:37

Let’s have a look at some of the terrible things JKR has done:

  • Set up the Volant charitable trust, a grant-making body that awards funding to charities in Scotland to tackle social deprivation
  • Set up the Lumos charity to remove children from orphanages and return them safely to their living parent.
  • Set up a women-only rape crisis centre for women in Edinburgh.
  • Donated £10m to set up a multiple sclerosis research centre at the University of Edinburgh
  • Saved the lives of 100 female lawyers who were under threat of murder in Afghanistan, by providing funding for them to come to the UK

What an awful, awful person she is. No wonder the misogynistic loons wish her dead.

Which NHS doctor? The one Maya is being investigated for is Kamilla Kamaruddin who has been quoted as saying how validating it was to be able to do intimate examinations on Muslim female patients which they normally wouldn't allow..

Helleofabore · 25/08/2024 15:01

I am always happy to bring this clip out. I am still non the wiser about who the doctor was.

StealthSpinach · 25/08/2024 14:51

Helleofabore · 25/08/2024 13:55

Oh. Was Harrop who was the doctor the poster referred to?

This doctor?

@Helleofabore - I was speculating regarding Terf Spray GP, something about the description of the poor doctor seemed to ring a bell….

😁😊 Always a pleasure to see that clip again, though. Thanks 💐

Hooray and stuff.

I do wonder if the NHS doctor who received “abuse” may indeed have been Dr HArr0p? If so, I would suggest the poster do a little research into the abuse from a doctor to various women, as considered by the medical board/court.

This chap here? Not a nice fellow at all.

Troll GP likened JK Rowling to Jimmy Savile in sick tweets

In a series of bizarre rambling tweets, Adrian Harrop (pictured), 31, from Liverpool, claimed the beloved children's author 'isn't safe to be around children' due to her views on gender.

For what crime?

Being an actual woman?

Shall we duck her or burn her at the stake?

Are you saying that women should not point out the male body cues that allow us to identify the sex of a human?

Or if we are allowed to discuss those features, that we must limit it a number of people that you are comfortable with at a time? And never if they are doing something they are employed to do!

Welcome to Australia.

look at the language and phrasing used to describe the transwoman in the play.

Which wording, @HereforHealing ? Tall? Balding? Baf actor? Not loud enough to be hard at the back? Hats the stuff of theatre criticosm - I'm sure there's similar and worse being said about plenty of other actors at the Fringe. Balding might be a little mean, but as a sign of maleness it is pertinent in this instance.

As for retweeting someone wrh a small follower count, do you check the follower numbers of everyone you retweet? As a doctor commenting on a public forum about NHS policy he was inviting public discussion, and presumably wanted a wide audience.

Also that language has nothing to do with JKR so why are you holding her responsible?
