@Helleofabore

Hardly. I think you are under some pretty heavy bias there.

“Hostility and ideology stems” from left wing beliefs as well. You have pretty much just proved that poster’s point with your blinkered and overly simplistic reaction.

Did you read "most commonly" in my post, or did you just skip that in your haste to call me out?

No. That's a classic response - "You just think it's far right because you think it's horrible". It encompasses all the hate and bilge that can't be expressed on the usual sites. This hostility and ideology stems most commonly from the far right. Sorry.

From that link:

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been commissioned to provide masculinising surgery for transmasculine and nonbinary patients.
The Trust is proud to be the first NHS hospital site to perform this life-saving operation.

Life-saving? Completely unnecessary cosmetic surgery to the genitals which has a high rate of failure and complications and sometimes results in the death of the patient is "life-saving"?

The claim it’s “life-saving” makes it even worse, somehow. The NHS is in absolute bits. Treating severe burns? That’s life-saving plastics work. Doing a cystectomy & creating a urostomy for someone with bladder cancer: saving lives in urology.

I am enraged the NHS funds this under the banner of “life-saving care” when some people have to move from one UK country to another to get cancer treatment (depending on where drug funded). The NHS doesn’t supply wheelchairs to meet people’s clinical needs (as assessed by them) & people are paying money they don’t have because they’re in agony & increasingly immobile as they need a new hip & can’t cope with waiting another 2-3 years. People are having to pay for things without which they physically cannot function - even if it’s “just” topping up continence supplies - but the NHS has for some reason jumped on board with experimental surgery that will inevitably cause complications & require multiple revisions.

Put the money into improving gender services so people get proper therapy; so accurate records are kept; & - vitally - detransitioners can be treated. The NHS can’t fund everything & it has no bloody business funding experimental surgeries that are so staggeringly destructive.

In what sense is the website "far right"? Some posters are, yes. But it's not united under any one particular ideology other than that of shitposting and documenting crazy stuff online. This is an example of using the term "far right" to encompass anything objectionable.

I saw it on X, what that poor girl went through, surgery after surgery, complication after complication. Surgeons mutilated her and it went on for years. Imagine the same amount of money had been spent of her mental health, helping her accept herself for who she was, giving her support. People who encourage these surgeries have blood on their hands. No surgery in the world will give a man a vagina or a woman a penis.

Your post brought a lump to my throat. Imagine spending the same amount on her mental health, on helping her love and accept herself, her body, her natural physical state. Not cutting her up as if she was some specimen to be practised on. Imagine caring about mental health to that degree. It should be so bloody obvious. But it isn't. And that is tragic.

Flibflobflibflob · 19/08/2024 19:34

Ah poor thing, I read about Griffin, makes your heart hurt.

Igmum · 19/08/2024 19:32

That poor young woman. Really sad. If only she had got appropriate mental health support instead of being butchered.

WarriorN · 19/08/2024 19:23

Wtaf @Omlettes. That's horrific

Thanks for the complaint link

It is not acceptable risk and clearly an appalling tragedy.

I will post this piece by the Metro again which glorifies the channel 4 programme naked attraction which glorifies and encourages young women to have these extremely debilitating and dangerous surgeries.

metro.co.uk/2023/04/04/naked-education-stars-on-the-importance-of-baring-all-as-trans-men-18550801/

There is no bottom to where Channel Four will go.
I remember how creative interesting and exciting they were in the 90s.
Alex Mahon the CEO is one of those women in power who try to out macho the men at womens expense.
See Sturgeon Thatcher et al.
They are about to show a series of women losing their virginity on national TV.

I hate her with a passion for this erosion of anything sane .
If you are as disgusted as me, please drop her a line

And write to OFCOM

It takes the same time as to comment here.

Sorry no time to take part in the discussion and sorry it this has already been reported, but the thread was deleted as it was started by a "Previously Banned Poster" - probably nothing to do with the discussion.

Its always worth checking the link to see what MNHQ says https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5145478-5145478-transman-dead-at-24-from-trans-surgeries

And on google it still comes up on google which shows the opening of the original OP referring to sepsis.

(Does MNHQ keep as list of the email addresses of "Previously Banned Poster"?)

I've only seen what Exulansic has posted. It seems Griffin detailed all the horrendous treatment complications while at the same time remaining a staunch advocate of medicalised treatment for gender incongruence.

I imagine the horror of peeking behind that curtain and wondering if it was all for nothing would be almost unimaginable. To go through all that and let yourself realise that 99% of people will never ever think you're a man, ouch.

Yes, Griffin posted on TikTok and it is still currently up. vm.tiktok.com/ZGenXBCoW/

Griffin's giving terfs who are warning about the dangers of the surgery the middle finger in that clip.

I hope the family sue.

I don’t do tiktok.
Was Griffin documenting medical concerns there? If so, I wouldn’t think it unreasonable to discuss it.

Why are people on this thread encouraging others to visit a far right troll site responsible for bullying multiple vulnerable people to suicide and shielding a mass murderer? Apart from how reprehensible it is, are you actually under the laughable impression any information shared on there is going to accurate?

Far right?

They just document and archive what other people post?
How in the hell is that far right? Unless every single person they archive and document is far right? But that doesnt seem to be the case.

And the twee way they describe what is brutal and often fairly unsuccessful surgery

masculinising lower surgery, masculinising top surgery and lower feminising surgery

Google the name and nothing comes up except a very quiet obituary thread and lots of twitter references- oh and 🥝 farms.

Its awful that these things are happening. I just hope the the report being commissioned into adult gender services will stop this experimentation.

It's a horrific story. There's a lot about it on Twitter. I was astonished to find out this surgery is going to be offered on the NHS at this clinic https://gendersurgery.chelwest.nhs.uk I don't know if it is already offered elsewhere on the NHS. I'm gobsmacked that anyone thinks this is a good idea.
