Just reading the thread on here for the first time. What I fail to understand is why so many contributors are so desperate for her to be a man. Someone who has lived their entire life as a woman. Beggars belief.

Where did you get the evidence that they went through a ‘female puberty’? Please link up that reference so we can all be assured.

Normal in the sense she had a vulva/vagina and these grew up as a woman would. why do you think differently?

You have made a false assertion about something I have said, and honestly, this just happens time and time and time again.

And it's just, why would anyone bother, really, with pointing out the lies? It's absolutely tiresome. And really I'm not up for more, I need some sleep before work.

You used the words "You declare... "and then put a load of words down, and an assertion that I had never made.

I'm surprised you don't take that more seriously and you are still not taking responsibility for that.

I can not possibly know, and neither can you, the history of Imane's puberty or lack of it, their understanding of their experiences, the relevance of sport in their life to puberty etc etc.

It is not dishonest to acknowledge this lack of knowledge.

It is dishonest to draw conclusions when you do not have the requisite knowledge.

And yet, the IBA tested twice. They stated very clearly that these boxers were male.

“It is not dishonest to acknowledge this lack of knowledge.”

“It is dishonest to draw conclusions when you do not have the requisite knowledge.”

You can keep doubling down on there being no evidence, but it really isn’t convincing. The evidence is there. You, personally, are choosing to ignore it. I believe that fits the description of ‘dishonest’.

Whether you ignore it or not, doesn’t mean they are not accurate tests.

And also there is the tests mentioned by the coach done by a named endocrinologist. Want to deny that happened as well?

And, you declared that a reason that a person didn’t start menstruating was due to intense sport. Whether I say ‘suggest’ or ‘declare’, it refers to you making that statement.

You have agreed you made the statement.

I don’t agree that my pointing out the false premise of your statement was me lying.

Because they want someone to direct all their trans women angst at. And because the tabloids quite deliberately couched things in a way that suggested that she was a man at first, which stirred people up. She's become a scapegoat...and I actually blame all those men identifying as women in the sporting arena for her experiencing this backlash. It's hardly fair on her. As for the hormonal issues, it's not fair on her competitors either. The whole thing has been handled terribly.

Actually, the first we heard of it was through Redux, which is not a tabloid and made no distinction about anything but that the IBA said these were male athletes.

Most posters were not making the assumption that these boxers were trans but were saying it is highly likely that they were males with DSDs, like Semenya.

And remember, there was Lin as well.

BREAKING: TWO "Female Boxers" Set To Compete At Paris 2024 Were Previously Disqualified From Women's World Championship For Having "XY Chromosomes" - Reduxx

Two athletes competing at the Paris Olympics as “women” were previously disqualified from a women’s world championship for having “XY chromosomes.” Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan are scheduled to compete in Olympic women’s boxing nex...

Great. So you said that intense sport is a reason for delayed menstruation.

I said it is ludicrous to use that as a reason here because they could not be said to be doing intense sport until they were 17 or so. If I phrased it clumsily, so you didn’t understand what I said, just say so. No need for accusations of lies.

Do you agree that it would be dishonest to suggest that Khalif had delayed menstruation due to ‘intense sport’ since they did not start boxing until 17?

Why did you suggest it?

I’m pretty sure she had no idea she was ‘male’. She was born with a vulva/vagina and and went through normal female puberty and was obviously very good at her sport. It’s possible some ‘non traditional’ women on here might not realise they are xy. Are you now men?

I doubt that he went through a normal female puberty, given that he has no breasts, is very muscular and has a male face.

Oh dear OP, you just don't get it do you? I don't care if this person 'lived as a woman' whatever the hell that means, if he is biologically male he shouldn't be competing in women's sport. End of.

Its clearly a troll

Helleofabore · 14/08/2024 22:24

suggestionsplease1 · 14/08/2024 22:18

I did.

You then incorrectly said of my posts

"You declare it is ludicrous to point out that a male who didn’t start intense sport until 17 would not be impacted by activity delayed menstruation"

KohlaParasaurus · 14/08/2024 22:24

Oh, dear!

Contrary to the original post, I think the majority of posters in these parts would have been delighted and relieved to have had a reason to believe that Imani Khalif was a particularly talented female boxer. Instead, the information that has been made publicly available from multiple sources, and the evidence of our own eyes and ears, tells us that he's male, possibly with a DSD, and the back story has changed several times over the past couple of weeks so we can't even be sure how much of the "raised as a girl" narrative is true.

otnot · 14/08/2024 22:22

Totally agree. If a man wants to put on a dress, call himself Susan and punch women in the face, we should embrace that. What do a few broken cheekbones matter in the grand scheme of things after all? The most important thing is that we should be tolerant.

suggestionsplease1 · 14/08/2024 22:18

Helleofabore · 14/08/2024 22:16

I haven’t lied. You stated that one of the reasons for delayed menstruation was intense sport. Did you or did you not?

I pointed out that this person did not start intense sport until they were late teens. When they were spotted playing football with the boys and invited to try boxing.

I did.

You then incorrectly said of my posts

"You declare it is ludicrous to point out that a male who didn’t start intense sport until 17 would not be impacted by activity delayed menstruation"

Ok you have a problem with grasping logic, we have established that.

You said of my posts " You declare it is ludicrous to point out that a male who didn’t start intense sport until 17 would not be impacted by activity delayed menstruation"

This is an incorrect conclusion from anything I have said, and a lie.

When someone is so transparent in their willingness to misrepresent and lie it is nonsensical to try to engage with them in good faith, as it is likely that person will continue to misrepresent and lie.

Why would I waste my time?

You haven't even acknowledged your lie!

Or understood the false logic you are employing.

Why would I engage further given this?!

Helleofabore · 14/08/2024 22:13

Ok. Let’s try another of your claims.

Which culture is it permissible for a coach, in full view of the world’s cameras, to put a hand where there would be a breast if that coach believed their client was a female? And in Algeria?

Do tell? I am all ears for your explanation.

Just a slip of the hand? Absolutely permissible? Nothing to be said?

Or, is it likely that the coaching staff understand that this person is male and not female at all?

If you acknowledge your previous lie I will respond on some points.

Helleofabore · 14/08/2024 22:13

suggestionsplease1 · 14/08/2024 20:50

I mean this is very simplistic.

A lot of young people in the world unfortunately are not knowledgeable about how puberty usually manifests.

And a lot of girls may not get periods for one reason or another, consistent very low body weight, involvement in sport to an excessive degree etc.

And as for being carried on a man's shoulders, you can not generalise about cultural experiences. Women who are extremely rich are often treated differently and more like men in some cultures. Women who have different shades of skin from the norm are often treated differently and more like men. Women who are tourists or who are famous are often treated differently from most other women. Women in family or close friend situations might experience more familiar interactions and physical proximity than they would do with complete strangers.

There is no singular experience as a woman in any given culture.

Ok. Let’s try another of your claims.

”involvement in sport to an excessive degree etc”

And where have I lied?

This is what you presented as a reason for delayed / non existent menstruation.

Here is another reason for delayed or non-existent menstruation - being a male with testes going through a male puberty. That also fits with those inconvenient official tests that ruled that Khelif was not chromosomally XX and was judged to have had male pubertal advantages.

Do you have a reason for ignoring those tests? And the one reported by Khelif’s own coaching staff?

Ok you have a problem with grasping logic, we have established that.

You're perfectly welcome to respond to my posts.

But when you lie about what I am saying, I will point that out.

Given your inclination to lie I take that as a sign of bad faith, and you should understand some posters might not want to engage fully in those situations as it is tiresome pointing out the misrepresentations and lies, time and time again.

You have extrapolated an incorrect conclusion from my premises.

You should be able to grasp that from my previous post.

If you are unable to, I don't think I can help you further.

Translates as... I've said something ridiculous that I can't back up with good evidence or support with rational argument, so I'm going to call you stupid for not being able to understand the depth of my (ahem) wisdom and patronise you in the hope you'll stop asking questions I can't answer.

Can you quote from my posts please...

What exactly have I said that that is ridiculous and can not back up with good evidence of support with rational argument?

😂 Am intrigued.

@Theeyeballsinthesky She was actually born a girl at birth some women have more testosterone than oestrogen. My partner knew a woman who had hair growing out of her face and was big she could drink any man under the table. She was born a girl it took her ages to conceive a child and she was lucky she managed to have 1.

She probably had PCOS
