Just reading the thread on here for the first time. What I fail to understand is why so many contributors are so desperate for her to be a man. Someone who has lived their entire life as a woman. Beggars belief.

You are assuming she is a man. Show me your proof.

Can you name a single issue with the endocrinologist?

Erm, they're talking shite?

"Winston, how many fingers am I holding up"
"One"

What do you mean fingers?

Everyone can see that its three toes being held up.

I've asked an accredited Russian accountant and they agree with me.

Helleofabore · 15/08/2024 14:54

Has that answer been triple certified by the appropriate agency, Red?

cross posted.

"Winston, how many fingers am I holding up"
"One"

"Are you sure about that Winston"
"Of course I'm sure, thats what I was told to say"
"Have you tried looking with your eyes Winston"
"Do you think I'd say differently? The man who told me what to say was a well respected man in a suit with lots of letters after his name"
"But is that what you are actually seeing? With your own eyes and with your own knowledge? Do you think the man might have had an agenda"
"Why would the nice man have an agenda? He's a professional in a well respected field. And my optitician is a bad man who lies."

I see we are cycling around again.

The never ending loop.

The amount of hate this poor woman is getting is horrible. None of us know what chromosomes she has. No evidence has been presented. There is only the word of the IBA president Umar Kremlev (I would recommend a read of his wikipedia page).

Is Umar a naughty boy?

There will be links to the IOC statement and Khelif's team statements in one of the many boxing related threads on this board

It's been posted on this thread. Read the full thread for an answer to your question @rmc2001 .

Do you have a source for this? X

Hopefully, the lawsuit will also provide some evidence re the sex of this person.

spannasaurus · 15/08/2024 13:37

IOC has confirmed that it is a DSD issue for both Khelif and Lin. If they both had XX chromosomes why would the IOC say this.
Khelif's own team has said there is a chromosome problem and that they were reducing Khelif's testosterone. Only a male would need to reduce testosterone levels

Do you have a source for this? X

Humtum · 14/08/2024 23:13

Nope, I'm not agreeing with you HelleB'

I agree with those that are calling out this transphobic current that is a constant in MN.

The lawsuit raised by IK will provide even greater language, education and public attention on gender.

Given yesterdays headlines (50 women killed by male violence) let's be clear - boxing is a high impact athletic sport. It's not an act of violence nor can be likened to domestic v.

It is not transphobic to say that someone who is a genetic male should not be competing as a woman in any sport, let alone one which could seriously endanger the health and possibly the life of a female opponent.

And incidentally, neither boxer is claiming that they are transwomen, because this would mean that they acknowledge that they are men. They are saying that they are women.

Chersfrozenface · 15/08/2024 13:57

Makes you wonder why the Paris athletes chose not to challenge the tests with an appeal.

Or in Khelif's case, lodged an appeal and then withdrew it

viques · 15/08/2024 13:54

HootyMcBooby · 15/08/2024 13:42

This is EXACTLY what was said with the Caster Semenya saga.
EXACTLY.

And we all know what happened next.

Semanya appealed.

The independent tribunal not only upheld the original test results but, as is their right, published the test results in their entirety proving once and for all that Semanya’s particular DSD is one that only occurs in genetic males.

Makes you wonder why the Paris athletes chose not to challenge the tests with an appeal.

NecessaryScene · 15/08/2024 13:29

And of course the way to stop the speculation would be for the IOC or Khelif to show their own conclusive results. That would mean we had a clear conflict, and it would show that the IBA or the IOC was lying. We could get CAS to arbitrate...

spannasaurus · 15/08/2024 13:28

suggestionsplease1 · 15/08/2024 13:24

But you're just speculating here.

Previously you implied that replicability of tests was important and gives credibility.

Well clearly the IBA have retested and did not replicate the same results they achieved previously. Which suggests something is problematic in their protocols and testeing

The IBA did not simply replicate the tests and get different results. They carried out additional tests to obtain additional information

NecessaryScene · 15/08/2024 13:27

At least I'm speculating in a way that fits the evidence, and just common sense.

You seem to think that "inconclusive" tests should be replicable, and repeated inconclusive results give credibility? And any procedure that gets a conclusive result after an inconclusive one is problematic?

I suggest you never go to a doctor for anything - you'd hate it.

suggestionsplease1 · 15/08/2024 13:24

NecessaryScene · 15/08/2024 13:19

At Monday's media event Roberts said Khelif and Lin were first tested at the 2022 World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey but no action was taken as the results were "inconclusive".

So not female then.

"Inconclusive" would cover an initial XY chromosome screening without information about which specific DSD.

46XY would be "inconclusive" under World Athletics rules, until they figured out if it was 5-ARD or PAIS etc - or just normal male (ineligible), or CAIS/Swyers etc (eligible).

I don't know if IBA is applying the same rules as athletics, but it would make sense.
