Hulking transgender athletes take gold, silver and bronze spots on female podium at Virginia cycling championship | Daily Mail Online

"The sailing fan from British Columbia has worked as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist and was ranked 22nd in the men's Victoria Cycling League this time in 2023.
Second place went to Jenna Lingwood, 43, who raced as a man until 2017 and is now a member of the Oregon-based women's cyclocross squad Team S&M.
She is a physics graduate of the University of Washington who works in Portland for Intel as a Supply Chain R&D Engineer.

Californian Eva Lin, 28, used to race as Henry Lin for San Jose State University's men's team, but his placings have soared since he switched to its women's team in 2022"

Dirty rotten CHEATS
That is all.

Oh hang on, it never happens though.
I must be dreaming.

Transgender athletes win clean sweep at Virginia women's cycle meet

Every medalist the elite women's madison at Virginia's Marymore Grand Prix had a trans athlete on the two-person team, marking the first time trans women are known to have scooped all top places

CHEATERS

I don't think the government should be involved in making competition rules for sports. That would be authoritarian and wrong in my opinion. Let sporting bodies deal with their own cheats.

The issue is not making specific rules, as I'm sure you know. It's about setting parameters. You think it would be authoritarian to ensure that women have equal access to sport? I don't see how. It would be in line with the UK's international treaty obligations for one thing. I hope you are not saying that you think that sports bodies should be free to discriminate against women & girls (by choosing whether or not to deal with their own cheats, or to enable cheating or not) and that government interference with that freedom would be unfair? I couldn't give any credence to that argument. Women have the right to equal access to sport and the right to fair sport. Those rights are in CEDAW, to which the UK is a signatory. Those principles also underpin the provisions about sport and positive action in the Equality Act 2010. So the Government actually has a legal and moral duty to ensure that women's sports are for women only. The sports governing bodies are covered by the EA2010 and have a legal duty not to discriminate against women.

The government doesn't have to get involved in literally drafting the rules but it should be giving a steer about such a fundamental attack on women's rights. Local councils often make funding for women's services dependent on those services being available to men, don't they? Government should make sports funding contingent on providing opportunities and fairness for women. Where the government has no financial leverage, pressure should be applied to make it clear that women's human rights are not optional or negotiable.

It passes me off also that biological female athletes put up with this treatment, after they have worked so hard and are then cheated from their rewards...
Don't turn up to events ladies, chose to walk away from this degrading shift show, only then is there a chance it will stop and just become trans vtrans.

Nandy said this, a few days ago.

“But I think most have come to the conclusion that, although they want to be as inclusive as possible, biology does matter when it comes to sport, and that it’s impossible to balance the requirement of fairness without ensuring that they take biology into account"
“I think that’s broadly sensible.”

I don't know how any law could be drafted to include all sports, at all levels and inc new ones as they emerge.

So leave it up to the sporting bodies?

Amazed that Football still allows TW to play in the female game, well maybe not considering the banned women for many years from even playing.

It doesn't need legislation as such but as Secretary for Culture and Sports she could put pressure on sporting bodies to not allow cheating men (and call them that for good measure) to damage women's sports. We keep being told the Equality Act allows for this and supposedly protects us.

Nandy doesn't give a shit. It's only the hard work of grassroots women and men who have got some sports to do what's right by women. That work has already taken approximately a decade.

Aroastdinnerisnotahumanright · 24/07/2024 09:04

I'm so curious to hear what a dyed in the wool TRA would say about this.

I know some and I think they would probably say that it was "an exception" and wouldn't happen again (while looking uncomfortable because deep down they know it's not right).

lcakethereforeIam · 24/07/2024 08:59

If Nandy sincerely believed what was quoted by the PP, then it has to be cowardice.

Lisa Nandy with her "ending of culture wars", and "less heat more light"! Whilst perpetuating her 'war on women' and adding yet more heat to the issue herself - so irresponsible - people like her are causing the issue and then complaining when asked about it!
I'm so angry.
When I think of all the years sports were not accessible to women (esp. golf, cricket, football, rugby, snooker, pool) they knew what a woman was then.

America is going to be stuck doing this nonsense after the rest of the world has quietly moved on, isn't it? The debate over trans in the States is just so bloody polarized and partisan.

Yep

Snowypeaks · 23/07/2024 23:28

It's not" fair enough" to leave it to individual sports authorities. The inclusion of men in women's sports is always unfair on women. An instance of asserting an identity where it is irrelevant and where doing so harms women.

I don't think the government should be involved in making competition rules for sports. That would be authoritarian and wrong in my opinion. Let sporting bodies deal with their own cheats.

334bu · 24/07/2024 08:31

Interesting that this has become an issue now when women are starting to win real money in sport
Men who identify as women are now coming out of the woodwork, what a surprise!
As for the women who pretend that these men have no advantage, well they are just contemptible.

Toseland · 24/07/2024 08:26

...the actual adult females put up with it...
What surprises me is that the sports officials, trainers and sporting bodies put up with it actually.
It is not the responsibility or fair on an individual woman there to play her sport on the day to have to take on protesting at the same time.

Runningupthecurtains · 24/07/2024 08:24

AdaColeman · 24/07/2024 08:05

What amazes me most about this race is that the actual adult females put up with it, by continuing to race, the women are validating these cheating men.

Surely the list of competitors is available beforehand, and these cheating men must be known in the cycling community? So why don't the women drop out of any race with a man included? How long would the cycling organisation last if every woman's race just involved two or three men?

Have you seen what has happened to JK Rowling? If you display gender critical view in the public eye you put a target on yourself.
They would lose sponsors (and for most sports people these are vital), you open yourself up for doxxing and abuse, you might be dropped by your team or your coach.

Because it probably doesn’t mean just walking away from that race but walking away from your career.

As a pp mentioned, here's the Keirin qualifier where Lingwood was relegated for pushing and head butting the female competitors. Males came first & second in the elite women qualifier.

They didn't win anything - they cheated their way into somewhere they didn't belong.
Those poor female cyclists who deserve recognition, I'm angry for them.

FrancescaContini · 24/07/2024 07:53

Three dicks on the podium 🤣

Three female cyclists who have spent years training being denied medals due to aforementioned dicks and due to a sporting body that clearly doesn’t care about its female athletes 🤬

Userxyd · 23/07/2024 23:26

Cheating men beat women in women's race.
Women told #bekind smile and clap for them.
Stepford wives or what? Horrendous to see in supposedly progressive countries.

Yes, what else are these countries doing that is equally ridiculous? Why believe other things they say?

PaterPower · 24/07/2024 07:49

Snowypeaks · 23/07/2024 19:31

This is silly, though:
"And the debate was reignited earlier this month when Nikki Hiltz, a transgender non-binary runner qualified for US Olympic team after winning the Women's 1,500-meter race at trials over the weekend."

NH is just a woman with short hair. She is in the correct category.

But the guys on that podium... It makes my blood boil.

Depends if Nikki’s been taking testosterone, I suppose - I assume not if she’s regularly being tested at Olympic qualifying events.

And if she describes herself as ‘non-binary’ then it’s likely she’s not done anything more than cut her hair short and avoids wearing dresses… or something equally banal.

Now, why doing something so ordinary makes you ‘trans’ these days still baffles me.

ScrollingLeaves · 24/07/2024 07:47

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 23/07/2024 19:56

It also fucks me off that this is tucked away on this oh so transphobic board. I want to ask all the be kind TWAW brigade on the main boards if they think this is ok and if so, give me some sort of reasonable argument. Other than wanting to be seen as kind and inclusive.

What would happen if it were put on AIBU?

I bet they are not even genuinely gender dysphoric transgender. They just want to win. They are long time losers and cheats who’ve found a scam.

Women should drop out whenever any cheats are racing. They, actual women, will lose anyway, so there is no point in wasting their time propping up these cheating males.

Yirk · 24/07/2024 07:41

Pathetic excuse for men!!
Cowards, cheaters, totally inadequate men identifying as a woman just to satisfy their male egos in snatching biological females awards, it makes me sick !! 🤮🤬

Meadowwild · 24/07/2024 07:34

UpThePankhurst · 23/07/2024 19:57

But this never happens.
There'll be so few no one'll ever notice.
Women's sports won't be affected.
There won't ever be three men on the podium taking women's medals.

Etc etc etc.

The general public are learning that these kind of statements always turn out to be bullshit, and the harms to women are fast, hard and gleeful. And the sight of three men like that is going to do some work for women too. It is disgraceful misogyny. Inexcusable.

I know. Because when did men ever feel entitled to barge through life, expecting women to accommodate them and comply with their egos and demands? When did men ever think the world was theirs by right and women mere facilitators? When did men's competitive urge ever get in the way of justice or reason?

Never.
It has never happened once in the hostory of the world so it couldn;t possibly happen here.
And it never will.

Meadowwild · 24/07/2024 07:31

I would so love to give the top three athletes plastic 99p store medals that identify as precious metals, and give the first three bio women gold, silver and bronze medals that identify as runner-up awards.

Omlettes · 24/07/2024 06:02

FFS!!
