They want to break relationships between parents and children. Presumably the "solution" is giving more parental power to the state.

Yes more power to the state, who will delegate their powers to private businesses called 'clinics', including private clinics with online services, who may or may not be in contract with a part of a new business-led arm of the remodelled NHS, overseen by a regulator who has training from Stonewall.

Noticed that the same people who seem to suggest PBs are life saving are also the ones that say parents should be kept out of the loop in schools. How are these young people going to get these life saving drugs without their parents knowledge?

You're asking for consistency and coherence in a movement which is inherently self-contradictory.

For example, this (from a late transitioning male): "Children need to have their puberty blocked so that they never become fully sexually mature adults. I'm so glad I had my children before transitioning."

EasternStandard · 17/07/2024 11:34

I haven’t rtft but let Labour deal with this ‘heat’ they keep going on about, it’s not from women. It’s entirely in line with the sex class doing it.

They should have thought about that before creating the GRA last time.

endofthelinefinally · 17/07/2024 11:29

He sounds as if he is imploding psychologically. I have always thought he seemed to have a tendency towards delusions of grandeur. He is sounding very unwell now.
As for parents tipping ashes outside number ten, that is an absolutely insane suggestion.

He's completely lost it, hasn't he? Absolutely no self-recognition at all.

Mollyollydolly · 17/07/2024 11:13

He's completely insane. Proof of the Helen Joyce law. He seriously needs banning from twitter. This is cult, unhinged stuff.

That is so awful. Imagine goading young people to take their own lives and goading their parents to tip their ashes outside #10. The idea that parents would care so little about their own child that they would use their ashes as a protest. It suggests to me someone who doesn’t understand normal loving family relationships. Who doesn’t share that feeling that is normal for parents to have towards their own children. It’s disturbing.

Please notice how silent Stonewall have been over the Puberty Blockers furore. Not one press statement.

Watch them closely, this is an opponent silently recalibrating.

I'm struggling to think what other medical situation is ideologically based bar some religious beliefs which request no medical intervention.

Circumcision and FGM are the only ones I can think of (if you class religious/cultural beliefs alongside ideologies). And that horrible surgery which apparently promises to create a new hymen.

Remember that poor doctor who was prosecuted for repairing the mutilated, torn vulva of a woman who had given birth, without any care, following previous fgm. It was the only way he could stop the bleeding and fix what damage he could.
Yet these TRAs are demanding the sterilisation and mutilation of children. As for Peter Tatchell, I have run out of words about him.

duc748 · 16/07/2024 17:58

Well said that woman!

CorruptedCauldron · 16/07/2024 17:56

This last section of the article linked above is particularly interesting:
^^
The corporation’s obsession with drag is bait in the apparently “confected” culture wars. Gushing stories about drag allow the BBC to push gender ideology without explicitly stating the activist mantra that “puberty blockers save lives”. Wes Streeting can be cast as a baddie for seeking to implement the Cass Review without a journalist committing a single word to the page in their own name; all they need to do is to report on the half-baked thoughts of drag queens. And this is done by presenting a tough story about politics and health as instead a touchy-feely tale of community and human interest. In this way drag allows trans activist talking points to be snuck onto broadcasts and written into articles.
The BBC’s coverage of the puberty blocker scandal has all the characteristics of drag; the corporation’s journalists are taking part in a tawdry and offensive charade.

CorruptedCauldron · 16/07/2024 17:53

Good article here - not sure it’s been shared already:

IwantToRetire · 16/07/2024 17:03

re BBC - as a news outlet it is obviously grossly unprofessional.

ie a new minister has made an announcement. they just have to report that fact.

It makes me wonder whether all those "I've been reporting the news since we used semiphore" are sitting rigid in their staff chairs whilst some young "representative of the most oppressed community" is running round the news room in their rainbow boots having a complete meltdown because it would be "literal violence" to even mention something as anti trans as this and threatening to lie down on the floor and scream, and scream and scream ....

It is just unjustifiable. They have reported a new health initiative in the NE for women, and yet they cant / haven't reported a statement from the new Health Minister.

They are making themselves idiotic.

RedToothBrush · 16/07/2024 13:33

WarriorN · 16/07/2024 09:14

The bbc are in part culpable for the backlash by not reporting on this with their health correspondent.

The today programme only mentioned it because they were doing a piece on the shocking levels of threats to MPs and candidates during the election campaign, some being told attending hustings was not safe.

They linked to a piece in the Mail by Maya about the death threats Wes is getting - they are sounding as bad as those Rosie has had. He read out a few awful ones and countered that the decision was based on a medical science review (Cass) showing lack of evidence.

The bbc are being woefully inadequate here. As is KS. He needs to show some leadership.

In fairness to the BBC they did lead this with Hannah Barnes and Newsnight.

Hannah Barnes spoke of the battle she had getting the BBC to take the story.

Then most of the decent Newsnight staff quit as it became Newsnight Lite.

And since then the story has disappeared.

Without the BBC and Hannah Barnes I don't think we would be where we are now either.

Ironic isn't it. But it does suggest there has been a gradual forcing out.

Yes I do. Anyone with a medical/ nursing/ social work/ any other profession knows from day one the importance of keeping accurate written or electronic records AND regular audit of those records. It has to be deliberate. Audit is king in the nhs. I know people don't like it but it is required as part of patient safety.

Hard agree. Remember the adult trans centres who had to be instructed to share data with Cass? Why were they keeping it hidden? Because the data is dynamite and demonstrates the harm being done to these young people.

endofthelinefinally · 16/07/2024 12:03

MsGrumpytrousers · 16/07/2024 08:38

Do you really think it was deliberate? The impression I get is of a place that was utterly chaotic and incredibly badly managed. And by the end staff were ridiculously overworked.

ResisterOfTwaddleRex · 16/07/2024 11:09

One of the main things undermining the PBs to kids like Smarties approach, is that they halt growth which is required for SRS. I know no one we need to get to about this, cares about girls, but when you present men with the facts of having a micro penis that cannot be used for a neo vagina, they tend to gulp and have a bit of a think.

It's good she got that in there.

RoyalCorgi · 16/07/2024 11:05

Suzanne's Telegraph piece is very good.

There has been a lot of argument about the evidence for and against puberty blockers, and whether Cass reviewed the evidence properly, or ignored it. And while I agree that the anti-Cass activists are deranged idiots who don't understand science, I don't even think this issue should be primarily about the evidence. Anyone who is a decent human being can grasp instantly that giving children drugs that halt puberty is morally wrong. An adult who wants to stop children going through puberty is seriously depraved. Trying to reason with these people by explaining evidence to them is pointless - they completely lack a functioning moral compass.

Slothtoes · 16/07/2024 10:54

There may be an attendant scandal of being allowed to change sex markers in medical records so the unpicking needed to follow up retrospectively might not always be straightforward.

Signalbox · 16/07/2024 10:45

endofthelinefinally · 16/07/2024 08:34

When you cannot do a clinical trial for reasons of ethics or children, you do a retrospective audit using the data collected by the institution giving experimental treatment. For example the use of low molecular weight heparin in pregnancy to prevent clots.
The Tavistock deliberately failed to keep data.
This whole thing has been very well planned and orchestrated.

I think this is a really good point. The Tavistock had free rein for years to experiment on children. Why on earth is there no data? There should be no new study without a serious analysis of the data that already exists (that must exist within patients’ medical records)

Good article, although imo she underplayed the negative effects of testosterone on female bodies.

I didn't notice the semi-colon. Now I'm confused. Is it him, Stonewall, MA and JB against the world? I hope he reads my previous post, the allies he didn't include. Bless him. He and his 'voiceless community' might feel a little less voiceless. Hopefully, he might shut up for a bit. Go on Jo. Take a day off.

WarriorN · 16/07/2024 09:49

There’s something very wrong with any adult urge to see other people’s lives made so vulnerable.

It's horrific. A safeguarding nightmare.
