How many votes did they get in the areas they stood? BBC isn’t giving a breakdown of results.

How many voted do you have to get to reclaim your deposit?

that’s not correct @OldCrone , Helen Joyce, Maya, Andrew Doyle and many more are speaking all the time to much bigger audiences than kjk and they found their way on their own, it has nothing to do with kjk speaking in parks

Go to any gay bar or pride event in the country and they will tell you the same thing.

And then go and talk to the lesbians who no longer go to the gay bar or "LGBTQ" events after experiencing pressure to date/sleep with men there.

The Party of Women's dominant focus is trans people. Same for the LGB-Alliance.

The focus in both cases is more about the right of people to identify as the opposite sex and how this conflicts with the rights of women and LGB people. Do you deny that there is a conflict?

Is there a conflict between women who want single-sex spaces and men having the right to identify as women and be allowed into those spaces?

Is there a conflict between women who want to be able to participate in sports where they compete only against other female people and men having the right to identify as women and compete against women?

Does the right of a heterosexual man to identify as a lesbian conflict with the right of a lesbian to be only attracted to female people? Is there a conflict if lesbians want to exclude such males from events for lesbians?

To be perfectly honest what you are describing, which the LGB-Alliance use as justification for existing, is complete nonsense. Go to any gay bar or pride event in the country and they will tell you the same thing.

Amazing echo chamber this, with thread after thread made by and full of people telling us it's an echo chamber. Lol smh

OldCrone · 06/07/2024 13:37

Ineverlose · 06/07/2024 11:50

No it’s not contradictory @mrshoho . The echo chamber is the Gc world. She isn’t able to move her message out further to the wider public. But worse than that, some of her fans are extremely vindictive and they cause fights and needless division in the Gc world. Her echo chamber stays within Gc circles, it doesn’t get the message out to the wider public. This is inarguably true since the election. The silent majority didn’t go near the POW. So disappointing.

And why do you think that is? None of us want to be in an echo chamber. What do you think is stopping the message getting out?

'No debate' isn't quite as extreme as it was 7 or 8 years ago when I first got involved, but it's still there. KJK was excluded from some of the hustings because the organisers didn't like her opinions. Women often don't get the chance to participate because the message that 'men can't be women' is too unpalatable to some people.

Notaflippinclue · 06/07/2024 13:31

I'm off for my weekly shop and will call on the manager at Tesco o my way past and explain I won't be spending £150 there today because they are sticking with the 'men can use the female loo' line. I wouldn't have dreamt of doing that a couple of years ago if it wasn't for people like KJK

As a normal, working, single mother, surrounded by normal, working people, KJK doesn't seem awful at all to me. She seems like someone I could call if I was running late on a school run and she'd grab my kids and take them to the park with hers. She strikes me as the person who heads off for a broom at the end of someone else's kids party because she can see we're all knackered and want to get home. She's always ready with a hug and a kind word when women need it at LWS events, but she also doesn't mince words. I have friends like that and I love them all the more for it - even though it can be bruising sometimes.

She's opinionated, I probably wouldn't enjoy being on the PTA with her, but I would appreciate her hard work, and happily buy her the drink of her choice if she ever walked into a place I was.

Plenty of us are at the coal face in this - we don't have the mental space for mucking about and secret negotiations between our 'betters' and the powers that be, or waiting for the perfect strategy or candidate. We just need something done, and I'm grateful that KJK stepped up and started doing something

Love this and agree with you

Notaflippinclue · 06/07/2024 13:25

Publicity brilliant worth every penny of the expense, it wasn't about winning seats just spread the message, we wouldn't be where we are now without people like KJK sticking their head above the parapet, well done and keep it up

If anyone here is interested there is a women's rights party that actually is about women's rights- Women's Equality Party. They aren't anti-trans and focus on a variety of issues.

But they think men can be women. So they should rename themselves the "People's Equality Party".

They haven't done very well in their 9 years of existence, despite all the fanfare and funding. Only 4 candidates at the GE with similar number of votes per candidate as KJK got with her brand new party which has only existed for less than 6 months.

It appears to be a little contradictory to on the one hand say how KJK only speaks to an echo chamber but then say how powerful she has been to cause such division and also make the GC cause appear as a lunatic fringe?

Ineverlose · 06/07/2024 11:01

Oh yes you’re right the LWS are a fourth echo chamber. I keep talking about her because I’m furious she has made such a mess out of things. Her awful tactics have made being Gc look like it’s the lunatic fringe when it’s not. Her divisive nature made lots of good Gc people turn on each other. I’m deeply disappointed

mrshoho · 06/07/2024 10:49

Then why keep talking about her @Ineverlose ? If you feel so strongly about how ineffectual she is, why are you posting about her? You forgot one thing in your list though - The LWS events that gets her point across to all who attend, as well as giving women a valuable platform to speak freely.

Ineverlose · 06/07/2024 10:35

There are 3 places where kjk is a queen - 3 echo chambers @Sloejelly - her YouTube channel, her Twitter account and on the mumsnet FWR board. She is zealously defended in those 3 places but everywhere else she is mostly ignored, dismissed or people don’t know her

Ineverlose · 06/07/2024 10:31

No @Toseland, she kept causing fights among GCs. She thinks she’s the only person who can lead. But, as she’s shown in the election, she’s a dreadful leader. Her massive ego gets in the way. If she hasn’t caused so many fights loads more would have voted for her and for POW

Toseland · 06/07/2024 09:15

"I think kjk did very badly because she causes so many fights."
This made me laugh so much - women causing fights as their rights are being removed - because they should just '#be kind' and '#Shut up' right?!
Not bloody likely!

Toseland · 06/07/2024 09:11

The POW are brilliant, well done to all the candidates. They will have raised awareness amongst each constituent in their areas who might now look into the issue we are told by the media is 'just culture wars' and they might begin to see how all the main political parties are failing women.

...in an echo chamber.

An echo chamber of posters saying her strategy hasn’t worked? So you are saying in the real world they have?

Pourquoise · 06/07/2024 08:03

Sloejelly · 06/07/2024 07:26

Yet here you are discussing her leaflets and her campaign.

...in an echo chamber.

MessinaBloom · 06/07/2024 07:28

@KeirSpoutsTwaddle

isn't it a joke? Home Office?

It doesn't really read that way. It'd be helpful if there was a wink or something like that to indicate the tone, but there isn't. Just the flat 'Typical, woman’s work.'

Sloejelly · 06/07/2024 07:26

Ineverlose · 06/07/2024 06:08

She certainly should change strategy because her strategy so far hasn’t worked, the election shows she’s just talking to an echo chamber. The silent majority, that I believe exist, didn’t vote for the POW. However I dread to think what her new strategy will be as she has shown herself to be a terrible politician: standing in the wrong constituency; too many candidates; slogans that don’t attract the attention of the public imagination etc etc

Yet here you are discussing her leaflets and her campaign.

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 06/07/2024 06:25

@MessinaBloom isn't it a joke? Home Office?

As for anti trans accusations - women's rights aren't anti trans unless trans people force them to be.

I want single sex spaces as has been in legislation for eons for the dignity, comfort and security of women, and campaigning to keep them is not anti trans. I'm anti men of any kind coming into women's spaces.

I'm moving towards being anti me as I get older. Too many of them are revealing themselves as self centred dickheads who would trample over anyone in their rush to self gratification. And a significant chunk of the rest are perverts and fetishists.

I'm also reclaiming pervert and fetishist. We apparently need the words these days.
