Actually I feel sorry for Dee. She comes across as confused, immature & having been influenced by the wrong people.

I listened to a young lesbian or bi woman who was an non-binary Just Like Us ambassador explaining how she’d grown up forced to conform with gender stereotypes, then encountered Just Like Us - who led her to the conclusion not that stereotypes were sexist bollocks, but that stereotypes were so important that she must be non-binary if she didn’t match them. Angry

Bigger picture, what does the Metro imagine Londoners make of stories like this? Do they imagine it will elicit sympathy? I'd have thought most people would have the same eye-rolling response that it's been met with here.

Well, to quote the article "Why haven't you updated your legal documents?'. The suggested reason is cost, but that is the same for everyone, and in any case she could apply for the free voter id. So no excuse really.

One less tattoo would have given her the time and money to do the changes.

So what I take out of the article is that she gender non confirming, as is 95% of the population to varying degrees. There's just an extra smidgeen of "I want to be special" thrown in to the equation.

Dee clearly has spent hundreds, possibly thousands of pounds on her tattoos. They are no doubt a crucial part of her identity. But then appears to take issue with spending a few quid on getting the right piece of paper.
But form filling is just not interesting is it.

There is no issue.

The guidance says Dee can show the deed poll to explain the difference between passport name and electoral roll name.

The person Dee spoke to has said the same, so that all Dee needs to do.

Dees specific set of circumstances has been accounted for, a process exists and there is no reason to anticipate anything other than a completely smooth experience at the voting station.
