How utterly pathetic! Being NB does not make it harder to vote 🙄 The constant victimhood of this group is self-indulgent crap. Perhaps theyselves should go out into the world and find out what real problems people are dealing with?

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve never felt like a girl or a boy”

Dear Dee,
Girls and boys can do/wear/feel whatever they want and it doesn’t change the fact they’re a girl or a boy. Unless, of course, you have very regressive ideas about silly gender stereotypes - which, of course, most of these ooh-so-modern non-binary peeps do. Being innately conservative, they can’t conceive of the idea of being a girl and liking ‘boy things’. But, rather than updating their thinking, they decide they must be ‘non-binary’. That or they’re embarrassed about being boring and think saying their NB will make them more special and interesting. Spoiler - it doesn’t.

Now, now. We all know it's not real sex if it doesn't involve a penis.

As I recall, Queen Victoria agreed with you.

I've looked up the penis award Dee won.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_Freedom_Awards

Oo-er. Sexual freedom.... means freedom for penises to do what they like, I guess? Not worrying at all!

It might as well be called the pandering to penises award. If it was really about sex and sexuality why on earth is only one sex represented in the trophy - and isn't that, well, not very non-binary?

Thanks to all things Dee, I’m now stuck with Deee-lite’s ‘Groove is in the heart’ in my head.

What a banger !

Well, this is what happens when you make your identity all about being hard done by.

What an awful award - both aesthetically and for what it represents.

It makes me want to shout "PUT IT AWAY!!!" 😂

Of course there's also Dee Stevens, an NB publisher of a terribly underrepresented demographic, who's very feminine...

Dee Dee Ramone?

D-fens from Falling Down?

In my defence my musical knowledge stopped around Duran Duran. Which is another D name now I come to think about it.

EsmaCannonball · 04/07/2024 15:57

Dee Dee Ramone, so good they named him twice.

This level of self obsession is pathological. Anyway isn’t Dee a girls name, short for Deirdre?
.

Short for any name beginning with D, but historically for Deirdre and Dorothy especially (particularly if you didn't want to be Dolly or Dot in the latter case).

UsernameRedacted · 04/07/2024 15:46

MrsLeonFarrell · 04/07/2024 10:40

That was a bit of a nothingburger. I have never heard of a male Dee so I'm not sure the name is as non binary as she thinks.

As if we needed any more evidence that this movement is a men's sexual rights movement... there is Dee holding an oversized, golden erect penis with rainbow wings.

Like so much in this folder, it's funny, but it's not.

Has anyone read the comments under that Metro article? No one has much time for this poor confused and disenfranchised person.

UpThePankhurst · 04/07/2024 15:23

Isn't it weird today how you have to be pretty powerful to be recognised and celebrated and venerated for your 'underrepresentation' and 'oppression'. We have a whole lot of powerful people, often very privileged people, all handing each other flags and awards and celebrating how nice they're being to each other because they're all so oppressed and vulnerable...

and no actually vulnerable or oppressed groups anywhere in sight, because they are actually oppressed and not part of the gang. And would like actual action and things to help rather than awards and to give brave wobbly speeches about their traumas.

underheard and underrepresented voices in the media

I work in a media/arts area and honestly if you're not "underrepresented" or "underheard" you're nobody. I know I sound all "political correctness gorn mad" but seriously. I get various newsletters and updates with details of jobs, grants, scholarships, residencies, awards, competitions etc all the time. 90% of them, and I'm not exaggerating, I couldn't apply for or enter because I'm not a POC, disabled, working class (well I kind of am originally but I'd look daft claiming that) LGBTQIA+++ / "queer" and so on. And could anyone gain access to "underrepresented" status by simply saying they're NB? Why, surely not.

This requires direct action by queering yourself.

I identify as a queer adult human female. We are extremely underrepresented!

Dudley Dursley had a nickname of Big D. Do you think she's twigged that she's associated herself with JKR?

The BIGOTRY!

lechiffre55 · 04/07/2024 14:51

Maybe we should add D to the aphabetti spagetti acronym of oppressed people?
LGBTQIA2S+D
Perhaps if they round off that chevron invading the pride flag from the left it could become a bit more D shaped?
