Lammy held Tottenham, unsurprisingly.

But his share of the vote has gone from 76.0% in 2019 to 57.5% - that's a pretty massive drop IMO. I hope he pays attention to that.

I'm one of the votes he lost, and he lost it for no other reason than his misogyny and arrogance in enacting a law that implicitly says women (the original group defined by their sex) aren't important enough to need their own name, rights or political voice.

What it certainly shows is massively poor judgement. If you aspire to be a serious politician in the world stage, you'd have thought "Never Tweet anything without checking and double-checking it first" would be axiomatic.

I've never been canvassed on the door by anyone. I'm not sure anyone puts much effort into Tottenham given it's one of the safest Labour seats in the country.

This came up years ago in a MN thread. Lammy said this (it never comes up on the doorstep) on some platform or other and a woman came on the thread to describe how DL came to her door (by-election?) and she told him she was terribly afraid of losing her hard won rights. He reassured her that he would never ever allow anyone to take her rights away. She wept with gratitude.

And here we are.

I mean there is an honesty in the list of issues he will give a crap about before he even deigns to consider women's rights. Maybe when they are all solved through the world there will be 5 minutes of his precious time before something else crops up and knocks us back down the list again.

The sheer arrogance of a man supposedly walking into a top job affecting millions of lives in a few days time and dismissing 51% with a wave of his hand.

I'm pretty certain someone posted on here to say she'd brought it up on her doorstep with him - this was last time he said it never happened.
