Well Farage has been disparaging towards women and supports woman haters such as Trump and Tate Reform want to get rid off the Equality Act which amongst other things, protects women.

The good/bad binary can be seen very clearly on this thread. He's been accused of child abuse, racism, intent to kill, woman hating. He's got a non binary child, perhaps he feels protective over them. Most parents support their children.

He told a politician to shut up. Look at the vitriol.

You’re not actually calling his son ‘them’ 🤯

mirax · 26/06/2024 01:16

Theeyeballsinthesky · 25/06/2024 19:37

Honestly I don’t think so. As I understand it racism from one of the righteous male left wing allies to a right wing women seems to be totes fine as she deserves it amirite?

You should see Kehinde Andrews recent tweets. He specifically singles out Badenoch, Patel, et al as deserving of being called coconut, cn, house n* and so on. Apparently he advises the Met Police on these matters.

IwantToRetire · 26/06/2024 00:40

Just to repeat what has been said.

It is (almost) irrelevant what KB's views are, because he didn't bother to say why he wanted her to shut up and disappear.

The point is he didn't, which he could have, made a supportive speech about trans rights, and some politicians didn't seem to care (or whatever the latest were are most victimist of victims) he just insulted her. It indicates complete lack of respect.

All of you commenting that she said awful things about this that and the other are just not engaging with the fact.

A stupid overpaid white male performed (ie can he even think for himself) stood on a public platform, and just insulted her.

How can anyone of you think that because you dont like her opinions on any number of issues it is okay to insult her.

And as a role model for his children, whatever their identities, is appalling. This is the sort of boot boy drunken comment that makes for many women being in public spaces something they try to avoid.

He behaved like a spoilt schoolboy pointing his finger in the play ground, going nah, nah, nah your stupid.

If he cant articulate his political position he should just STFU.\

Women in public life do not deserve and should not be subjected to hostile and attempts to humiliate them.

That's the issue.

And that the organisers, and whoever broadcast it, didn't stop him, or at least ask him to apologise.

Edited - the (almost) is because everybody realises he isn't talking about selling arms to Israel which is / was part of her remit, or not getting equal pay for women in the film industry, it was obviously about her support for women's sex based rights. Which means of course he thinks all of us should shut up and just disappear.

RantyRantington · 26/06/2024 00:08

There are young people in the care of my wider family who think that they are trans. They have been through incredibly abusive childhoods. They are loved, supported and protected by all of us and we strive to do right by them. They will never ever be used as accessories to prop up the careers of those who care for them. Shame on Tennant.

nocoolnamesleft · 26/06/2024 00:05

Disappointing. I guess I have to remember the difference between playing intelligent characters, and actually having two neurones to rub together.

OvaHere · 26/06/2024 00:02

Re his comment about having skin in the game. I'm wondering how he thinks having primary school aged son who is 'non binary' intersects with women's rights that means he needs to be so aggressively defensive and dismissive of women?

In what way is women and girls having female spaces to toilet, wash and change affecting his son? Does female sport affect his son? Single sex rape crisis centres? Single sex prisons? Does any of the above harm a 9 yr old boy, even one with they/them pronouns?

His son at the moment doesn't have a trans identity, doesn't appear to be making a claim of being a girl so what's going on? Is Tennant just wanting to take women and girls spaces in anticipation of a future where his son might decide he wants them for himself if he moves from non binary to trans?

I don't suppose we'll get answers to this but it's quite strange.

lonelywater · 25/06/2024 23:57

woman2womanmeetswomanparrish · 25/06/2024 21:20

Exactly, he wants a black woman dead.

don't be so bloody daft. wising some one silent is a millions miles away from wanting them dead. For the avoidance of doubt, I regard hims as a complete twat who has really guzzled the Kool aid and spouts complete and utter fucking nonsense, so there is that.

dougalfromthemagicroundabout · 25/06/2024 23:50

How awful to be constantly told you're 'non-binary' and then go through puberty, which will be a sexed puberty and hard enough without the added distress of reality denying indoctrination up to that point.

Obviously, the medical experimentation on children that is puberty blockers is even worse, but gaslighting children into believing sex isn't real is pretty bad.

FrancescaContini · 25/06/2024 23:44

DramaLlamaBangBang · 25/06/2024 20:13

I don't know how anyone could read that and not think it is an utter tragedy for those children

You have to feel very sorry for the children who carry the burden of their parents’ desire to be on-trend. A nine-year-old is “non binary” - WTH does this even mean? Let this child play with Lego and eat ice cream and climb trees and have fun with friends and just being a CHILD, not an identity.

dougalfromthemagicroundabout · 25/06/2024 23:42

Just imagine being a vocally TRA celebrities' trans child and thinking you might want to desist. There would be no way out.

As Cass put it 'social transition is not a neutral act'. Social transition in the public glare of the media is even less of a neutral act and frankly, isn't putting the child's wellbeing first.

And looking after your own child for a day including a packed lunch is extremely basic parenting for which no-one should get praise. FFS.

dougalfromthemagicroundabout · 25/06/2024 23:39

“A rich, leftie, white male celebrity so blinded by ideology he can’t see the optics of attacking the only black woman in government by calling publicly for my existence to end … Tennant is one of Labour’s celebrity supporters. This is an early example of what life will be like if they win.”

I think Kemi's right.

The irony of Tennant saying that people are bigoted against trans people and then wishing death upon a black woman minister who dares to speak her mind - as Kemi points out the only black woman in government. From my very quick research, only 5 women of colour have ever held cabinet positions. So if you want to talk minority groups, that's definitely a minority. It's quite difficult to become a cabinet minister, I'd imagine, if you 'shut up' all the time, so Tennant obviously doesn't think women of colour like KB should be allowed to be in cabinet positions. So progressive.

Seriously, Tennant, you're obviously the one who's bigoted and just plain abusive. Misogyny on steroids.

AmadeustheAlpaca · 25/06/2024 23:27

I'm late to this thread. I wonder if DT"s career is showing signs of decline and I suspect that a number of influential TV and entertainment industry people are quietly closing their doors to him as they find his attitude regarding his trans child distasteful.
That's why he is so vocal about trans rights, he may need the assistance of media trans supporters for employment later on. I think that the poster who thought his criticism of Kemi was a substitute for criticism of another well known woman is spot on.
His poor child, he must be having a crap time at school.

ScrollingLeaves · 25/06/2024 22:58

Thank you.

It’s good that article went on to report on those latest Labour revelations.

They missed though that in the case of GRCs only one GP instead of two would be needed, and the spousal clause removed. And in the case of conversion therapy, unfortunately, far too little was explained.

cupcaske123 · 25/06/2024 22:04

Course he does.

Is there a way for a person to stop existing without dying?

What else could he have possibly meant when he said 'however, until we wake up and Kemi Badenoch doesn’t exist anymore…'?

MaidOfAle · 25/06/2024 22:41

cupcaske123 · 25/06/2024 22:02

You obviously understand history and are worth engaging with.

Don't assume you know my heritage.

I don't think I indicated anywhere that I did?

I did interpret your use of the term "interesting" as sarcastic. Did I get that wrong? If so, I'm sorry.

molotovcupcakes · 25/06/2024 22:11

His ability to chant out the trans propaganda has been recognised and they've given him a little award!
It's only encouraged him and he is going to come out with a lot more little nasty thoughts about women who disagree with him.

What, that continuing to blame historical colonialism for problems in the present day infantilises the non-white people that live, work, vote in and run those former colonial countries and that people who do this are (probably) motivated by the soft bigotry of low expectations?

That's not what she said.

cupcaske123 · 25/06/2024 22:02

MaidOfAle · 25/06/2024 21:49

What, that white men turned up and replaced the existing indigenous rulers whilst day-to-day life went largely unchanged for the majority of people?

Yes, Kemi has made the point that colonialism was basically the same as the Normans turning up to England in 1066 and replacing the Saxon earls with Norman earls. And she's right, right down to the Harrying of the North retribution against rebels.

How dare a Black woman born in a formerly-colonised nation understand history and be able to pattern-match! ⬅ sarcasm

Topseyt123 · 25/06/2024 15:49

Yes. I did. I have no issue with it.

I've never liked my MP or anything she witters on about. I will be voting tactically in the election in the vain hope that she might be unseated.

So because you don’t like her, you agree with him that she personally shouldn’t exist?

MaidOfAle · 25/06/2024 21:49

cupcaske123 · 25/06/2024 21:05

Her views on colonisation and institutionalised racism are interesting.

Just seen a pic of him at Pride, wearing a t-shirt saying ‘you’ll have to go through me.’

Which is ironic, because that’s what sensible parents with kids who are caught up in this nonsense have been trying to say to schools for years.

Hepwo · 25/06/2024 21:45

Absolutelyfractious · 25/06/2024 21:37

15 years ago, his kid would've just been some beautiful misfit, running around with all the other misfits, maybe eventually starting a band, going to gigs, getting a piercing or tattoo.

These days, all these kinds of kids join the alphabet tribe and some of their parents, instead of raising an eyebrow and letting it run it's course get all virtuous and 'educated' and sanctimonious.

And start to tell everyone to 'shut up'.

Like we couldn't possibly understand what's going on.

No, we know only too well and we have something to say about it too.

He is literally transparent.

I agree. I'll never be a Tory and could also never be a socialist because of the ones in my family. Also many (male dominated) unions have failed to support women in the past as there is, I believe a perception that men's jobs are more important.

Yep. The Unions and a certain type of middle class Lefty Labour membership will never elect a female as leader of the Labour Party.
