I’m certainly no fan of LRM, but this sets a very dangerous precedent for our democracy. A sitting MP has effectively been removed from the job to which he was democratically elected because of untested allegations which he denies. Whatever he is alleged to have done, he is entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence.

Anyone who supports his suspension should be very careful what they wish for. Malicious, politically motivated allegations can be made against your allies as well as your opponents.

It sounds like there is clear evidence. They wouldn’t have suspended him without it.

This captures the issues well.

Yes, that was my thinking too.

LizzieSiddal · 29/05/2024 19:13

Not surprised in the slightest. A man who can’t control his temper, even in the workplace, has had a “serious” complaint made against him. One less nasty misogynist in Parliament. A few more to go!

GailBlancheViola · 29/05/2024 19:12

Unbelievable how the spineless Keir Starmer did fuck all about his behaviour in the Commons to Miriam Cates and Rosie Duffield.

Hmmmmmm. Do you think it's because Labour know that he wouldn't be able hold his temper against KJK?

Thought along similar lines. Unless the 8yr old complaint is very very serious, the timing seems potentially relevant.

jacksonlambsregulardisorder · 29/05/2024 19:09

It's really odd for there to be nothing after how he behaved to Cates and now this just before an election. Is it something really awful, (and presumably well-evidenced), or are they sweeping out anyone embarrassing? Are there any locals who can give context?

GailBlancheViola · 29/05/2024 19:04

So that's his Bill re Gender Conversation Therapy dead in the water then?

duc748 · 29/05/2024 19:03

He'll get no sympathy from me, after his vile behaviour on more than one occasion. But the Party's reaction does give me pause for thought; it seems hardly fair or transparent, with echoes of the way Diane Abbott has been treated. Why was he not disciplined after the Miriam Cates incident? And yet, there was a deafening silence from Labour then. They can hardly claim the moral high ground now.

jacksonlambsregulardisorder · 29/05/2024 19:02

Is it the local party that's pushed him or the central leadership?

nothingcomestonothing · 29/05/2024 18:59

Surely the face-eating leopards will never eat LRM's face!

Datun · 29/05/2024 18:57

I take it it's got nothing to do with KJK holding his feet to the fire and embarrassing the entire party?

lcakethereforeIam · 29/05/2024 18:54

He was possibly overheard, by someone with blue hair maybe, saying something that didn't adhere strictly to the trans orthodoxy. Perhaps he doesn't believe babies can be facists?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 29/05/2024 18:53

Well!! I wonder if there’s any possibility that Labour sat on that complaint until they found a good time to use it….

DisforDarkChocolate · 29/05/2024 18:48

So he be better a total cunt day in and day out in the HoC and nothing happens. Then this. Odd.

Tallisker · 29/05/2024 18:45

So KJK succeeded in unseating him and it isn't even the election yet 🤣

Sorry for just dumping the X link - I was in the supermarket carpark with no phone battery and it took me several checks between X and here to get his name (sort of) correct - I don't know if its just me but my brain can't hold information across apps!

I think that is the only place it is. But found by accident that some nice person on Reddit had typed it up, so thought only right I should share. Smile

GrimDamnFanjo · 29/05/2024 18:38

Hmmmm this all seems very odd!
But thank feck.

I complained to Labour about him regarding his behaviour in the Hiuse when Miriam Cates was speaking. He is absolutely dreadful and I’m glad to hear this.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 29/05/2024 18:34

Oh what a terrible shame.

Lloyd Russel Moyle suspended
