Rape and Hamas and the denial of rape.

There have been a few threads on FWR about this before. I have lurked. We knew and know this is and was happening yet apparently it's okay if it is is happening to Jewish women or Israeli women.

I have long had a horrifying suspicion that the reason why so many of the women and girl hostages have continued to be held is until they are released with the evidential products of their rapes- the babies.

I fail completely to understand how this is being brushed aside and ignored.

Horrifying new footage shows Hamas kidnappers threatening women

WARNING: Graphic content: These are the horrifying first moments in captivity for the five youngest women held in Gaza by sick Hamas fanatics since October 7.

@BlueskysandWind a bit like the Israelis setting up videos but using the same actresses for different circumstances.

Comments like this should be left to stand for all to see.

On this thread of all threads.

It's not ok that it's happening to Israeli women. It's also not ok it's happening to Palestinian women by the IDF (yes, there's plenty of videos on SM of IDF spoofers admitting they've raped women in Gaza).

What are "IDF spoofers"?

Do you mean people pretending to be the IDF?

You could read Our Bodies their Battlefield by C. Lamb who devotes an entire chapter to the Congo
https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Our-Bodies-Their-Battlefields/Christina-Lamb/9781501199172

Or you can do some data mining of articles from 1997-2004.

But I mean specifically media organisations pretending it isn’t happening, not information about the Congo itself. As far as I can remember it’s always been talked about, same with Boko Haram etc. I can’t recall left wing media organisations ignoring it like October 7th, so I’m interested in that. It’s a bit hard to data mine articles ignoring something. TIA.

The denying, asking for proof, justification for these rapes is on a scale never seen before.
That simply cannot be denied.

The support for the monsters who carried this out is beyond belief, yet there is it. I have never seen so many civilians cheering when dead, raped or kidnapped women have been dragged off the streets.

I have never seen so many ordinary civilians supporting these actions, helping in the kidnapping, cheering in the streets when women are raped and children killed.

The anti-semitic response to from the rest of the world has been out of control.

agreed, quite shocking.

This attack was barbaric and the immediate response of so many in the West was to rush to praise this act of "resistance" - this is callous - I've not seen victim blaming like it and I'm old enough to remember, as a young adult, the massacres of white farmers in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and South Africa. No one celebrated that.

I'm not Jewish and I have no hesitation in saying that I believe antisemitism is the main reason for the responses we've seen. Something has been unleashed which is quite terrifying.

Solidarity to my Jewish sisters, I hope these young women, and the other hostages, are found alive and are able to find a way to heal.

Festivfrenzy · 28/05/2024 23:23

OP I entirely agree. These comments are insane- basically saying yeah rape happens everywhere, blah blah blah.
As if there's no difference!
Obviously there are rapists sadly in all walks of life in all cultures.
But with Hamas, Boko Haram, Afghanistan and Rochdale the organisation and joint purpose is rape- it's not a shameful crime carried out by a few outliers alongside the main aim of the army. It's literally the reason these disgusting men come together.
They plan it together, encourage each other, recruit others, normalise it, justify it, FILM IT fgs, and promote it as having some greater meaning than just seedy vile men expelling hate with violence and getting their rocks off at the same time.
It's utterly revolting, and how anyone with access to the internet can support Hamas is mind boggling.
Are Palestinians asking Hamas to stop? Not heard of it if they are. The numbers of men involved and the free shouting of "we're going to do October 7th every day" etc suggests they expect the entire community to agree with them.
I think Israel are also acting appallingly, and the volumes of women and children killed is heartbreaking, so I don't support their actions either - but Hamas are intentionally raping and torturing these women and children and that has got to be more widely called out.
As for the whatabouts- there's no marching in Western society in favour of Boko Haram, or Rochdale taxi gangs, or the Taliban child marriages - so why are there for Hamas??

That’s interesting, I’d like to read examples of left wing media and progressives denying rape in Congo if you have any links, akin to what we see now.

When rape has been used as a weapon of war in recent times, like in the Congo conflict for instance, it’s the rapists in the conflict who are doing the rape denying.

I can’t recall any other recent conflict where so-called progressives in the western world have led the denial of rape along side the rapists.

Edited

Funny you mention the Congo. It was not just the rapists who were denying it with the Congo, it was a lot of the western world- the ICC & UN. The WHO, mostly western aid workers, joined in on the raping and then denied it.

It took a decade before the first arrest warrants were issued.

But it looks like 10 months (instead of 10 years) will be all it takes to get ICC arrest warrants with the war crimes of rape and sexual slavery issued against Hamas leaders.

Good grief. Such hyperbole even though history is littered with cases of mass weaponised rape by armed combatants with far longer periods of worldwide denial. The denying and asking for proof has actually been one of the shortest ever by the fewest ever because the raping murderers live streamed it.

Sadly I doubt any who became pregnant will be released at any stage. It would be clear evidence and I doubt they would want hamas members babies being raised by Jewish mothers.

Grammarnut · 28/05/2024 21:35

trampoline123 · 28/05/2024 20:34

@Grammarnut no it absolutely does not.

I didn't save them just things I've seen over time. It's also nothing new, google searches will bring up stories from over the years, particularly of children being raped and sexually abused whilst in Israeli custody.

Awfully, rape has been used as a weapon of war going back thousands of years.

I know that. Thanks.

Well no example is going to be a perfect match to another example on every tiny detail.

Yes they are being ignored. Yes they are being excused. Yes the girls that do escape are being blamed and ostracised. They have no chance of marriage or a family. No the only marches are by family trying to get the governments to do something.

I don’t think there are any Hamas supporter marches so not entirely sure why you wrote that last bit.

The West is full of Hamas support marches. They are all over the news.

I do. In my nice middle class lefty discussion group, I was the only one of five people discussing this who didn’t deny the rapes and atrocities happened, and the only one who condemned the attacks. This quote from one of the other five sums up their opinions ‘ The Israelis have absolutely nothing to complain about, about what happened to them on October 7th’.

Did you leave? Or argue your point? How appalling.

"A screening tonight at Phoenix Cinema in North London (my lovely local indie) of a documentary about Nova music festival massacre on October 7th is desecrated.
How can a film about innocent young people butchered, raped and abducted be “Art Washing”?"

https://x.com/JonnyGeller/status/1793566038665376000

In addition to the graffiti at the Phoenix there's a protest organised for this evening when this film is due to be shown at the Phoenix in E. Finchley, one of the biggest Jewish neighbourhoods in London. A film which includes "extensive testimony of rape at a music festival". People that live in this area will have family or friends whose daughters or sisters were kidnapped, raped, mutilated or murdered on 7/10. Women that think of themselves as feminists will be among the protestors.

I never cease to be amazed by the number of phrases people come up with to avoid changing their minds in the face of facts and personal testimony. ‘Art washing’ is particular low in this genre of phraseology. For those who prefer slogans to thinking.

Ah, I'm not on X but if true I'd have thought that would be totally devastating for the IDF and their campaign. Suprised it's not made mainstream news.
