Ah so he was presenting as a man at the time of his arrest, and the arrest had the magical effect of making him feel like he has a woman's identity.

It really is sickening that men's crimes are still being listed as women's crimes. These guys should have their biological sex stated in every headline, every article eg 'Man who claims he identifies as woman....' It should be clear it is not a woman's crime and when it comes to legal issues they should only be referred to by their biological sex. It's shocking this is still allowed. Why do paedophiles wishes have to be respected?

He will be given community service or at the very worse a suspended sentence. Extremely unlikely for first time sex offenders who are found with indecent images to go to jail. Even less likely now that he identifies as a woman.
If he has kids, he will still be able to see them supervised in a contact centre or by a family member.
