Amalfi! So good to see you FlowersWine

Amalfimamma · 13/05/2024 15:35

Oh ladies be kind! You know he vanity searches his name and he'll be reporting you all to HQ for dating have boundaries.

Tinsel, datum and others on this thread have been calling him out for years and deserves an apology from the women who defended him up until he published this piece.

Someone mentioned glinnerball. He's also been exposed as a massive misognystic knobber numerous times so who do you GAF what he says or endorses?????????

ResisterRex · 13/05/2024 15:34

I may well be wrong. It just sounds violent, and like it means forcing your way in, in quite crass language. For me it's always signalled a rape euphemism but I'd be pleased to be wrong! I've never used it for this reason.

I'm not sure Bindel's choice of words would be mine. "Ripping someone a new one" is a rape reference, isn't it? She and others should be reflecting, not glossing over the past.

Is it? I've never heard it in the context of a rape threat, to be honest.

I thought it was US College campus slang from one man to another. Certainly not in the context of threatening rape to each other tho.

The gentry left will never, ever admit they were wrong.

I know. This is why the safeguarding side of this particular issue is so concerning - because SG requires reflection and understanding where you wouldn't do the same thing again. Changing your approach. Discussing what and why you'd change.

I know you know this!! But it is very frustrating.

I think a lot of women have assumed that as 'transsexuals' have been around for a long time, and havent really hit the news, it is possible to return to a time when we called men 'she' out of politeness and they didnt push boundaries.

Women are saying no as they realise that its impossible to go back to a happy compromise on both sides, and are even questioning if this compromise ever existed.

Its just funny how the more academic or high profile feminists have been late to that conclusion.

Actually, it’s just occurred to me that Glinner might also have a conflict of loyalty/support because of Hayton’s article about JKR. Glinner has been very supportive online of Rowling’s campaign against compelled speech relating to the Hate Crime Act; it’ll be interesting to see how that plays out.

It tends to be bro's before ho's with Glinner.

Interesting how transgender is most important when it is seen as a 'first' for trans - see also IW and the first transgender news reader bio - but when it is a first for a woman that it stolen by a TW the TW is a REAL woman no trans prefix allowed. Trans when it suits and real women when it suits - heads I win tails you lose.

What an excellent observation.

noraclavicle · 13/05/2024 14:29

If I’m remembering this correctly, Hayton was at A Woman’s Place meeting back in Feb 2018. When he stood up to give all us women the benefit of his wisdom, he was loudly heckled by (I think?) Julia Long & her fellow-attendees. At the time I thought ‘that’s a bit unkind!’ Obviously I didn’t have the full measure of him (& others like him) at that point. Obviously others did. A lot of us I think should have paid more attention to those warning us. But most of us get to ‘no fucks left to give!’ in the end..

I do understand how years ago people fell for it. I did for a while I admit years ago. Women were so afraid of being branded bigots they went along with 'reasonable' people like Hayton. Then the scales fell from my eyes. I'm surprised how long it's taken some, like Bindel. It does show however, how manipulative these people are. Trans Widows understood this long before anyone else. I wonder how it makes Bindel feel, does she feel like she was manipulated when she looks back? I don't suppose she'd ever admit it if she did.
Anyway glad Hayton wrote it, served a very useful purpose. You can't have truth just for the people you don't like and accept lies for those you do like. It doesn't work, it's illogical.

Same here: it was women i.e. Tinsel’s writing, and the Transwidow threads, and Jennifer’s interview with Glinner that helped me see that my sympathy was being manipulated and helped me realise that women/children/LGB boundaries need enforcing 100% with no exceptions for 'nice' boundary pushers.

I've just messaged Hayton and torn him one he wishes he'd been born with. I have no fucks left to give

I can't get over Bindel saying 'torn him one he wishes he'd been born with'.

It's soo LADBible 😄

For someone who likes to carefully curate every single thing he says and does, in order to control people's reaction to him, that's going to go down like a lead balloon with Hayton.

I'm not sure he'll be bothered. He's moved on from the gentry left now.

I've just located that date I started warning people about Hayton- November 2018.

Even less, I reckon. The reaction to what he must have imagined to be a reasonable piece, will be telling.

Hayton’s fashioned a strong media presence based on telling women off while pretending to be a reasonable version of a man claiming a woman identity. Why Bindel et al were content to let Hayton lecture other women about their campaigning and analysis is beyond me but they were.

So why they now feel shocked at him turning his lecturing behaviour onto their friend is a bit hypocritical. If anything they puffed him up and put him on that media pedestal so it’s no bloody wonder Hayton’s feeling full enough of his own entitlement to try and tell them off too.
