Be kind, ladies or Debbie will tell you off like one of his pupils.

or winning business woman of the year when only dressing "as a woman" part time

Excuse the nit-picking, but it doesn't really matter whether they wear women's clothes full or part time. At no time are they women.

Of course not. I was just pointing out how low effort men can be and still be lauded in some quarters as being as good as or better than actual women who are women 24/7.

Fukuraptor · 13/05/2024 16:29

What a difference a fortnight makes:

I presume Hayton knows Clark personally or otherwise identifies with the individual to have changed opinion about JKR so rapidly.

I did laugh a bit about the byline:
Debbie Hayton is a teacher and journalist. Her book, Transsexual Apostate – My Journey Back to Reality is published by Forum

Not that far back to reality if still using her/she.

I know Hayton dabbles here. So here’s my reply to the final paragraph:

It is helpful, because it was being reported as a New Progressive Thing when, as JKR points out, it’s merely the same old middle aged white blokes getting jobs.

It is necessary as there are still large sections of the public confused about what a transwoman is (a sizeable minority think it’s a woman wishing to pass as a man)

It is true. Obviously.

If a bloke wants to wear a frock and a wig to work and his work is ok with that, fine. I tend to see these as misogynistic appropriations and parodies, but let us assume he’s actually genuine and not engaging in AGP cosplay.

If he wants to present this as empowerment and breaking new ground as a woman, he can bugger off.

The only place men should wear wens clothes for work is the Christmas panto! Other people really shouldnt be dragged into agps fetishes by being forced to see it on their way to and from or at work. Exhibitionism is obviously a big part of it.

Within the last hour or so:

Miffy AT miffythegamer
A billionaire with a massive platform who plucks someone from obscurity, who's just quietly getting on with their life (and who by all accounts is well regarded), simply to mock their very existence to their 14m follers for the shits and giggles is bullying.

J.K Rowling AT jk_rowling
Publicity-hungry men who declare themselves lesbians, go on TV to tell female athletes they 'need to be careful' about what they say, advocate for males' inclusion in women's sport and send women abuse for standing up for their rights aren't 'quietly getting on with their life.'
And she links to
Victoria Derbyshire AT VictoriaLIVE Mar 4 2019
“I wouldn’t say they’re transphobic, but they need to be careful what they tweet” Lucy Clark, football’s first transgender referee, reacts to comments of ex-sports stars like Sharron Davies and Martina Navratilova on trans athletes in women’s sports
(with video clip https://twitter.com/VictoriaLIVE/status/1102519678809726976)

Might I suggest that there may be a double meaning/context to this tweet?

I mean Hayton literally just wrote a whole article telling JKRowling that she needs to be careful about what she says!

Or is this an unfortunately coincidence???

RimTimTagiTim · 13/05/2024 16:15

Hang on, so Debbie wrote a whole book about how he was really a man with AGP, and then someone points out that referee is also a man with AGP, and now Debbie's written an article about how awful it was that people know they are both men with AGP?

I think it's only OK to say it if Debbie is making money out of it.

Oh ladies be kind! You know he vanity searches his name and he'll be reporting you all to HQ for dating have boundaries.

Tinsel, datum and others on this thread have been calling him out for years and deserves an apology from the women who defended him up until he published this piece.

Someone mentioned glinnerball. He's also been exposed as a massive misognystic knobber numerous times so who do you GAF what he says or endorses?????????

You were saying it too TBF, Amalfi.

I'd like to see her apologise to all the women she chastised (and was truly vile to) for speaking the truth while she was complicit.

Zodfa · 13/05/2024 16:15

The problem is, you say "transwomen aren't women but let's be nice to them anyway" and then transwomen treat you like the second coming of Hitler. It gets harder to be consistent on the "let's be nice to them anyway" part after that.

MFF2010 · 13/05/2024 16:13

Debbie is a wolf in sheeps clothing and is no ally to women, more like a Trojan horse 🤷‍♀️

Let's not forget this is the man who put boys in girls toilets across all schools in the UK.

And went for cosy lunches with Challenor Jr.

I'd half forgotten that.

it's so telling.

Fukuraptor · 13/05/2024 16:08

I think there was also a misunderstanding that post-operative TW were all (mostly?) the effeminate homosexual type, rather than the er heterosexual type. Yes many of them don't have surgery, but that doesn't mean none of them do.

(Or indeed that the other type are not problematic in women's spaces. We aren't obligated to open female spaces up to gay men)

Zimunya · 13/05/2024 16:05

Gotta love JKR - ‘I didn’t compare him to one. He IS one’. Brilliant.

TinselAngel · 13/05/2024 15:03

It tends to be bro's before ho's with Glinner.

Well it clearly hasn't been seeing as he pissed off all the 'bro's' who gave him work and a livelihood, to support the women you are here calling a misogynistic term.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/05/2024 16:02

And went for cosy lunches with Challenor Jr.

YY, he saw himself as a mentor.

Fukuraptor · 13/05/2024 16:01

Oh dear. Looks like Hayton wasn't quite as popular as he thought.

I don't really keep up with the twitter stuff (I appreciate those who share things of interest) so I'm a bit surprised from what you've said that Bindle was a supporter of Hayden. Her book doesn't really pull it's punches, in the way that say Stock's book does.

I think there was a bit of relief that some TW appeared to accept what feminists were saying about GI and it was convenient to have some defense against the accusations of trans phobia.

But when you see that actually they are still trying to access female spaces and that GC feminists are being used as a kind of extreme difficulty setting in the sport of "where can I get accepted as a woman?" (where other TW target e.g. a job running a rape crisis centre advertised as being for a female, or winning business woman of the year when only dressing "as a woman" part time). And understand as TinselAngel has said that including TW automatically excludes their spouse/ex spouse and kids.

Really they were never allies.

FannyCann · 13/05/2024 15:58

Slightly off topic but I see Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) is making an appeal for Lumos on Radio 4 this Sunday.

She is one of the Harry Potter actors who whilst not actively supporting JKR has also managed not to join in the pile on. I hope they are still good friends.

GailBlancheViola · 13/05/2024 12:57

Interesting how transgender is most important when it is seen as a 'first' for trans - see also IW and the first transgender news reader bio - but when it is a first for a woman that it stolen by a TW the TW is a REAL woman no trans prefix allowed. Trans when it suits and real women when it suits - heads I win tails you lose.

High time to stop tolerating this shit.

This is such a good point.

Trans people get to opt in and out of categories, trans, 'real' women/ men, or their actual birth sex ( see Eddie Izzard playing men's acting roles or trans men competing in women's sport).

Whereas us actual women are relegated to a sub category in our own sex class (cis women)

Yeah, trans identified people get to expand their potential categories, and services ( see sexual survivor groups where they can choose between the women's one, the male one or the trans one) whilst reducing ours.

AlisonDonut · 13/05/2024 15:56

So Julie Bindel DMd him, basicaly telling him off because now she has to decide whether she is on JKR and KJKs side or whether she isn't.

Ha ha ha ha ha.

This is fucking hilarious. I'd say ULTRA hilarious.

I may well be wrong. It just sounds violent, and like it means forcing your way in, in quite crass language. For me it's always signalled a rape euphemism but I'd be pleased to be wrong! I've never used it for this reason.

Yeah I think it's meant to be aggressive. Just not in the context of rape.

Which is why was a bit shocking.

But as she says, women have run out of fucks.
