WTAF?? Is there anything to make people less likely to attend the theatre that this bollocks?

What am I supposed to be looking at? Presumably something in the text but when I zoom in it's all just blurred and unreadable.

I had the same issue, but am on a laptop and was able to see it in another tab in the end. Every single cast member has their pronouns under their name, including Les Dennis, who I think we all know is male.

in that daily mail interview Georgia Frost talks about how
difficult it is to be a woman. So she's a them
now, not a
woman?

I was reading that article thinking the same thing 🤔

As a woman it’s hard for us,’ she said as she collected her gong. ‘We are on our way to equality but we need to keep pushing and having this network, and having this support, will be the thing that will lift me up and help me go far.’

Well obviously the pronouns have shifted since that time. I’m guessing she opted out of being a woman as it was too fucking difficult.

She/her pronouns as recently as 2021.
I wonder what changed?

That's awful

Oh I didn't know that, how awful! How has there been no repercussions for this?!

Gorgonemilezola · 03/05/2024 11:19

As if their pronouns are the most important thing about them Hmm. What a load of toss.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 03/05/2024 10:39

It just smacks of it being the one person in the cast who's had a hissy fit and made them do this.

There's a they/them in there I suspect that is the reason

Cosmosforbreakfast · 03/05/2024 11:16

I assume they/them kicked up a stink. I would avoid it like the plague because of they/them being in it alone.

nauticant · 03/05/2024 11:15

worryworrysuperscurry · 03/05/2024 10:47

And the they/them is one of the vile creatures who doxxed JKR, posing outside her home.

LittleLittleRex · 03/05/2024 11:12

One of our local theatres often does this as well. They also butchered a version of MacBeth in their youth theatre by using They/Them on stage for a couple of the more "special" actors, it made the whole thing gobbledegook.

augustusglupe · 03/05/2024 11:02

I don’t really knowwww… 🤣

FranticFrankie · 03/05/2024 11:00

SirChenjins · 03/05/2024 10:53

WTF?? 🤬

Yep, definitely one to avoid. Shame for the cast members who’ve been forced to go along with this crap in order to get their pay cheque.

Abso f ing lutely

Brewdug · 03/05/2024 10:58

It's a nonsense, but this venue has form for doing this on cast posters, it's been discussed on here before.

It is cringeworthy and incredibly off putting. Having a well-known cast member just highlights the absurdity of it. I'd been looking forward to this production as well...

SirChenjins · 03/05/2024 10:53

clarrylove · 03/05/2024 10:39

As if that wasn't bad enough, the they/them is JKR's stalker!

there's a them in the cast, so presumably
the them person had this bright idea.

Fucking hell. So it is. How much fucking carnage can one person create?

I'd be having nowt to do with this. Or them. If I was in the TV and theatre world.

And how would we have known how special ‘they’ are without pronouns?

AGlinnerOfHope · 03/05/2024 10:39

Les Dennis is of an era, age and attitude that no one needs to be announcing his pronouns.

It’s like saying, ’king Charles, he/him’

Tamsin Greig was a superb Malvolio.

Can we just not assume until told otherwise?

pinkfondu · 03/05/2024 10:38

Erm when you are acting why would this need to be pointed out 🤷‍♀️
