Shocking interview on BBC Radio Scotland this morning. . Interviewee passionate about stopping his 10-year-old daughter’s puberty after deciding she was a boy before she could talk.

It's shocking, it's gaslighting. Bbc should be safeguarding children. WTF?

Have you ever met a child, pitta?

ThomasinaLivesHere · 20/04/2024 22:07

Others might say that children’s views should be respected especially if it’s causing them to be upset

So they’re upset because they believe a monster is under their bed - do you respect that or try to parent them? Child led in most cases is just disastrous especially when it comes to health care.

That’s just your opinion. Others might say that children’s views should be respected especially if it’s causing them to be upset. You have absolutely no basis to say that the child was gaslit. Zero!
are you saying that children who are trans should not be taken seriously? Maybe you don’t know about the amount of trans kids that actually take their own lives

Love to see your source on this with a comparison to mental illnesses.

Myalternate · 20/04/2024 22:03

Your point is wrong.

Pitta567 · 20/04/2024 22:03

thats your opinion. My point is that the father has done absolutely nothing wrong.

I think any good parent can pinpoint what is upsetting their child especially if it’s repeated. Do you not agree that it should be case by case though?!?

To send this girl into menopause age 10, before she has even started her periods? No, I don't think that that is a good idea.

Children are entitled to be allowed to grow and develop without being gaslit that their bodies are wrong and that a sex change will fix them.
No child is born in the wrong body. Every child must be allowed to go through puberty, to develop physically, emotionally and psychologically.

Think you're the opposite sex as an adult - that's up to you. Tell children they must be the opposite sex is child abuse.

CactusBasket · 20/04/2024 21:54

No, I don't. This is a ten year old girl whose options are now a normal female puberty with some mental distress, or a false male puberty with ongoing lifelong medical treatment, for which there is poor evidence of benefit and much evidence of harm.

And it's all so pointless.

The man gave a very honest account of his situation. Everyone here seems to have heard him say that he started to treat his child as a boy before he could talk but HE DID NOT SAY THAT!!!
he said that his child showed signs of distress when being referred to as female, very different thing. He did not say that from then on he was treated as a boy.
the man is clearly a very attentive father who pays attention to his child.
I applaud him. All he asked for was that each case should be looked at individually, who can argue with that?!?

I and probably hundreds of thousands of people could argue a child has no idea what is male and what is female before they can even speak! Load of rubbish.

This.

Why is he so invested in keeping his daughter pre-pubescent?

Imagine being so devoutly wedded to an ideology that you cannot see the glaring example of child abuse right there before your eyes.

It would be hilarious how these "little boys must be footballers, little girls must be ballerinas" parents can now feel righteous and progressive for perhaps the first time in their lives. Except it's devastating because of the real harm they cause.

334bu · 19/04/2024 12:48

Poor child.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 19/04/2024 12:27

Yet again this highlights the levels of trans capture in the BBC that they will broadcast this with no clue that a child appears to be being harmed.

happydappy2 · 19/04/2024 11:47

Surely social services have to look into this…..I hope it’s not true. How on earth can a female child not be protected from FGM in this country?

ArabellaScott · 19/04/2024 11:22

The best case scenario is he is utterly deluded.

It did cross my mind that he is deluded and the whole thing is fabricated. There is no child. He is May be a Rainbow Green willing to say anything to diss the Cass Report.

What sort of person looks at their perfect little daughter, too young to even talk, and decides to bring her up to believe her body is wrong? It's actually evil.

littlbrowndog · 19/04/2024 11:18

And he said she will go into the wrong puberty. But he said he could afford private healthcare so the girl will never get any sort of puberty

ArabellaScott · 19/04/2024 11:17

I am listening to it.

There are no good possibilities, here, are there.

Before his child could talk he'd made this decision for them?
