No and all these idiots people undermining it for their own personal gain / sense of superiority are playing right into the hands of powers who would very much like democracy to fail.

It's not as if there aren't plenty of other countries without democracy that are a great example of why you really wouldn't want to live there. And yet these people are too busy navel gazing to have the teeny tiniest sense of how precious and historically unlikely to persist democracy is

Anyone who was fixated on gaining independence would surely have realised that the best thing they could have done towards that aim was to do the day job well-show you can run the place properly. Instead they decided that letting education, drug deaths, ferries etc. could go to hell in a handcart whilst they shoved a bunch of crackpot schemes like named person and gender woo down everyones throats which nobody asked for or wanted. The Sunday Post had never been on my radar, apart from for the Broons but they've been good on quite a few things lately. They led on the mesh scandal afaicr and have done some good investigative journalism.
