From today’s Telegraph: “Scottish primary schools are appointing children as “LGBT champions” and are being urged to ask pupils as young as four if they are gay, lesbian or trans, The Telegraph can reveal.
Documents show that schools are setting up LGBT clubs and “gender and sexual orientation alliance groups” for pupils as part of their membership of a scheme run by the charity LGBT Youth Scotland.”

The only LGB education little children need is learning about different families - some kids have two mums, etc. I.e. from a child's perspective.

Indeed. Giving them this kind of information when they're not able to really understand it is more for the adult than the child. I don't think it's normally because they're a bit paedoy, I think it's because they've a narrative in their minds where being the grown up who gets da kidz and like, you know, tells them things that the other adults are trying to like, hide, or something, yoanno? makes them a hero of some kind.

Mycatsmudge · 19/04/2024 09:35

With the publication of the Cass review these sinister ‘charities’ know schools in England will now be more cautious about engaging with them but Scotland’s ambivalence may be more useful to them

Esgaroth · 19/04/2024 09:34

Asking little children to talk about their (nonexistent) attraction is definitely 'paedo adjacent'.

My primary age children have only just stopped insisting they're going to marry each other when they grow up. We've told them brothers and sisters can't get married but they don't really get it. They have no concept of this adult stuff, they just like each other and think they'll always want to live together (they're also going to live next door to us and have 6 dogs each).

It's so sinister.

I'm sure there are pie people involved in a lot of this movement.

Why can't schools and parents see this? Or I suspect many can but are scared. I know someone who worked in the hospital savile was in, not in that department but knew people who were. Kids were being advised to try not be alone with him, staff were uncomfortable. Many people knew but didn't want the good work to stop and decided it was worth it for the good or because they didn't want to cause problems at work. When I asked if you knew shut was happening why didn't you say anything yourself? He thought it was not his business, he had no proof of anything anyway just gossip and feelings, and because everyone knew and did nothing felt it was pointless. I suspect many many school staff are feeling similar

Infiltrating universities and conflating its cause with gay rights. From the article above.

Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

It does indeed.

I just don't understand. "Scottish primary schools are appointing children as “LGBT champions” and are being urged to ask pupils as young as four if they are gay, lesbian or trans, The Telegraph can reveal."

At 4 I had no idea what sexual attraction was, never mind being attracted to anyone. Surely most children are the same. And if they do understand what heterosexual or gay actually means (let's forget the 'trans' part for now), and think they are one or the other, so what? What will they do about it?

At that age I thought I’d marry some tv star. Never have -ikky - babies. Have lots of cats. Wanted to be a witch.

lifeturnsonadime · 19/04/2024 08:00

This is just awful and they should leave the kids alone.

Even the argument that children are born gay doesn't make this right. Children are still impressionable. If it's all done with flags and rainbows and unicorns children can be led to believe things that are are not true.

I always thought the idea of PIE was a bit far fetched, perhaps naively but now I'm starting to really wonder.

Kucinghitam · 19/04/2024 07:50

IIRC Helen Joyce said something about gender ideology turning everything it touches into the opposite of what it should be. This is yet another perfect example. Angry

Mycatsmudge · 19/04/2024 07:49

The only choice you should give a 4 year old is “Do you want a custard cream or a bourbon biscuit?”

Rightsraptor · 19/04/2024 07:38

Yes it is arse about face as the of whole gender ideology is too. Everything is upside down/seen through a mirror/ turned 180 degrees.

We have these kinds of clubs at elementary schools in Canada - so from about age 4 to 12, though the students who join tend to be in the 10 to 12 range.

Challenging them would have parents labeled bigots immediately. They also do not tell parents their kids have joined.

If you ask people, they are predicated on the idea that sexual orientation is inborn and immutable, so kids "know" what they are. The idea that our experience of sexuality develops over our teen years (and maybe beyond) tends to be interpreted as bigoted.

That's insightful.
Children being innately immutable is in direct conflict with childhood exploration and curiosity.

We've stopped telling children "you are naughty " because of this. Only to turn around and tell them "these are life options, choose identify yours before you try then out ".

We've fixed the options in the name of making the options more available.

It's arse about face.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/04/2024 23:44

Ffs. When dd was 3/4 she said she wanted to marry our dog...

How/why the heck are little children supposed to understand what being gay or lesbian really means? And obviously there's no need to probe them on 'trans' At that age.

Just let kids be kids, damn the stereotypes and let them develop their own unique characters.

RethinkingLife · 18/04/2024 23:38

1./ A charity that sheltered leading figures in the biggest and most appalling paedophile scandal in Scottish criminal history are now invited into primary schools to ask kids if they are gay or trans. Just another average day in SNP…Scotland.
2./ Here’s the stuff the…enablers in the Scottish government don’t tell parents about the shameful history of LGBT Youth Scotland. Don’t let [them] near your kids.

2022 thread about the scandal with more detail than you might care to know about James Rennie's activities in what the Scotsman said was the worst abuse case ever to come to a Scottish court.

I agree with @DuesToTheDirt that 4 year old kids will have no concept of terms like gay or trans. They'd probably say they're whichever because they like the sound of the word or something lost to adults. Children are not supposed to be sexual, with other people at least, so any young child being sexual raises massive red flags.

It’s just never-ending ! My mum sent me a link to this story from GB news this morning! It’s as if whatever England do Scotland will do the exact opposite just to prove a point!

I wonder how many schools have signed up to this ? Budgets are tight surely there’s no money to waste on this nonsense? And what do the primary school teachers think of it ? I honestly can’t believe that a majority of Scottish teachers are happy to promote this in school esp primary school!

Shame on the Scottish Govt for promoting this dangerous ideology to our kids 🤬🤬

guinnessguzzler · 18/04/2024 11:20

100% agree @StephanieSuperpowers and I think there's a lot of them about.

As an aside I used to work with someone who is now on the Board of LGBT Youth Scotland who is an absolute tool. One of only a handful of people who I would never, ever work with or employ again in any capacity ever.

StephanieSuperpowers · 18/04/2024 11:11

I saw something I found a bit concerning on a different website in relation to teachers and disclosures around sexuality or identity. The person said that if a pupil made such a disclosure to them, they would be "honoured". The extent to which this issue is generated by inadequate adults who are using children to affirm what a wonderful person they are is very worrying. They don't have the self awareness to understand that this is what they're doing, and it's deeply inappropriate.
