I didnt think I would see it in the dark days but the worm has well and truly turned and the vast majority of people are speaking out against the terrible damage done to children because of trans ideology. I don't really care about the adults but I am delighted that the children will be treated better now.

Anyone else feeling a bit teary? Incredible to see this coverage in these cowardly publications now. And incredible to see that the women that sacrificed so mush in exposing this have finally been vindicated.

I'm hoping by the time I've read it, which won't be tonight as it's not going in, the TRAs will have gone into complete melt down!!

Things aren't going their way so far this year!

AIstolemylunch · 10/04/2024 00:20

from the summary:

  • While a considerable amount of research has been published in this field, systematic evidence reviews demonstrated the poor quality of the published studies, meaning there is not a reliable evidence base upon which to make clinical decisions, or for children and their families to make informed choices.

Says it all for me. I hope the transhause by proxy parents and butcher doctors feel deep shame.

Thanks, Boiled. There is a synopsis in your link which is where I'll leave my reading for tonight: 388pp is a teeny bit much to tackle at midnight.

Cass review - out on Wednesday

Hannah Barnes on Newsnight this evening was good. She didn't hold back. “Where have large swathes of the media been? And sadly, I include the BBC in that outside of this programme…”

And I'm reposting the Glinner interview with Sarah Smith on Newsnight too. Hannah did great work but this was one of the worst interviews I've ever seen. He deserves to be asked back on the programme. Just watch the section on the Tavistock it's worse than I remembered.

Gah, half my cut and paste disappeared outs a nightmare! So have some screenshots to describe the language used throughout the report.

388 pages long!

gulp, I think I will wait until tomorrow so I have some strong coffee.

Already some familiar names on Twitter/X trying to discredit the report.

Boiledbeetle · 10/04/2024 00:13

Within the report, we use the term gender incongruence as defined above, and gender related distress to describe the feelings that commonly arise or intensify during puberty and lead to a young person seeking help from the NHS.

The term child is used to refer to pre-pubertal children and young people to refer to under 18s who have entered puberty. The report also refers to adolescents when discussing the stages of brain development, and both adolescents and youth where the study being described uses these terms. Young adults refers to those between the ages of 18 and 30.

Wes Streeting, Labour’s health spokesman, said the report should provide a “watershed moment” for the NHS’s gender identity services.
He said children’s healthcare should always be led by evidence and children’s welfare, “free from culture wars”.

He's such a weasel shit for framing like this. Like he's on some higher fucking plain. I remember when he was part of secret Labour witch-hunt groups who were putting women on lists and having them chucked out of the party for raising these very issues almost a decade ago.

Any headlines from overseas? I'm thinking particularly of the more captured countries; Canada, Australia, New Zealand. I have suspicions that they'll try to ignore or bury it.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 09/04/2024 23:29

It's a long report and we'll need to read it carefully. But those headline points from the Telegraph article show that she's not holding back from being clear aboiut the lack of evidence and harms happening.

Boiledbeetle · 09/04/2024 23:28

From the Telegraph

Wes Streeting, Labour’s health spokesman, said the report should provide a “watershed moment” for the NHS’s gender identity services.
He said children’s healthcare should always be led by evidence and children’s welfare, “free from culture wars”.

Helen Joyce, of the gender-critical group Sex Matters, said: “This is the end of paediatric gender medicine as we know it.”

Kate Barker, chief executive of the advocacy group LGB Alliance, said: “We have known for years that for the overwhelming majority, gender distress resolves itself on its own, and that these young people grow up to be happy and well-adjusted lesbians, gay men or bisexuals.

She said it welcomed “that time to think is essential for young LGB people who are most at risk from the extreme ideas of gender identity ideology”.

birchtreeglow · 09/04/2024 23:26

After listening to KJK read some of the report out, I feel disappointed with it. Raging a bit actually. But I'll read it myself and digest. I really dislike 'young people' as a term, stick to 'children' for under 18 and say 'young adult' for 18-25 for heavens sake.

The evidence for allowing children and young people to change gender is based on "Shaky foundations"

Cass cautions that extreme care should be taken before anyone under the age of 25 transitions

No good evidence

Pressure on families to allow their children to transition.

This is massive!!

Hannah made special mention room of how bad the BBC have been on this issue

BettyFilous · 09/04/2024 23:15

Well done Hannah for calling out the shameful delays in dealing with the issues at the Tavi & most of the media for not covering it.
