Images from Susan Dalgety.

The event was of course 'Let Women Speak' at the mound.

Why were PCOS and Unite protesting against it?

That Telegraph article is really lazy; the women were not marching.

Embarrassed for PCS. It’s like they want fewer members.

It's one thing to have a 3rd rate drag act and the 'WITCH' shouter there. But quite another to have adults apparently representing serious organisations.

Correction-"once serious organisations". We have been living through a real time re enactment of that film "invasion of the body snatchers", where, without realising it until its too late, people and institutions which were previously reliable have been taken over by the virus of gender woo. think it will be at least 5 years before this nonsense will be put in the bin.

I’d prefer unions to focus on salary and t&c for their members tbh. And casework for dismissals and grievances etc. I think that’s what members probably want.

I'd encourage members to check first- it could be they were actually there in support of women's rights. Or something.

I'm sure they were there to support women's rights. We're often told that any organisation rocking up at LWS events is allied with and represents LWS? Isn't that how it works?

Pretty appalled by unite. I need to think about leaving.
I was impressed by Sharon Graham and her focus on employment issues not power broking in the Labour Party. Now I’m not so sure.

Cancelledcurio · 06/04/2024 18:39

Husband is a rep and saying he is leaving. Appalling. Bunch of w*nkers.

StainlessSteelMouse · 06/04/2024 18:37

Unsurprised to see PCS there. They often seem to be much more interested in political sloganeering than members' interests.

More disappointed to see Unite. Sharon Graham has been doing a lot of good - and pissing off lots of activists - by trying to turn them back towards a focus on members' pay and conditions.

So Unite, as well as being spectacularly shite as a union, are also anti women. Very glad I'm no longer a member.

DuesToTheDirt · 06/04/2024 18:10

Women? Speaking? Outrageous, whatever next!

ArabellaScott · 06/04/2024 18:01

PCS members in the comments threatening to leave.
