Things are about to get interesting.

The new legal analysis by Monaghan was commissioned by a family in Brighton who are arguing that their child’s school helped their child to socially transition without their consent, because it was using the toolkit. The family wrote to the council on Friday threatening possible legal action if it does not withdraw the guidance within two weeks.

The child’s mother, who asked not to be named in order to protect the identity of her child, told the Observer: “Our child was socially ­transitioned at school by a group of teachers who are quite active in the trans rights arena, despite our child’s complex mental health needs, trauma and autism.”

What a good post. One of the things that years ago alerted me to the extreme levels of psychological manipulation of children was "guidance" from the scandal hit Mermaids that advised primary schools to arrange a special assembly to "celebrate" a confused child who'd been encouraged to believe they'd been born in the wrong body. So primary schools held assemblies to introduce Peter to his classmates, now transformed into Tiffany. Thus ensuring poor Tiffany was socially glued into their new identity, unable in light of their young age to ever speak out and change their mind.

Emotional abuse of a child.

They're grooming children into wanting a medical sex change later - because everyone is telling them they really are the opposite sex, but their body isn't, which means they need surgery.

Not only that they're coercing all the other children to play along with this lie. They're making little children believe this will be what happens in real life too, when it won't. A teacher can make little kids lie, that won't work in the adult world.

If you tell little kids they need a certain thing, particularly if it's a trusted adult doing the telling, they'll believe you. This is why we have systems in place to try and avoid paedophiles working in schools (because we know if they gain a child's trust then tell them to do something they may well do it) and why there is the whole bit about emotional abuse including introducing developmentally inappropriate concepts to children in Keeping Children Safe in Education, the statutory safeguarding guidance for schools.

If you tell children they'll be utterly miserable if they don't get X, Y or Z, they'll believe you and they WILL be miserable if they don't get X, Y or Z. Marketing campaigns are often based around this idea. But if it's your teacher or parent telling you this, and that 'transition' is what you need, that's even more compelling and a hell of a lot more dangerous than the latest my little pony.

Social transition will often make it virtually impossible for a child to grow out of their dysphoria and avoid medical transition.

Not to worry if you don't understand. This is an ideology based on untruths, mangling language and attempting to upend facts, science and the social contract so we all struggle at times with meanings.

If you socially transition a child you are telling that child of any age that you believe they are the opposite sex. The NEU is in favour of doing this in secret from parents.

You are correct that schools can't perform on children double mastectomies, orchiectomies, bone shaving and all the other brutal surgeries connected with creating a facsimile of the opposite sex. But they can and some do engage in the process of social transitioning which leads a child to believe that subsequently, drugs and surgery will magically complete their sex change. Especially when some schools engage with organisations like the scandal hit Mermaids, Stonewall and other adult groups very keen on assisting children to medically transition.

So nobody's saying schools are wielding the surgeon's knife on children. But we are pointing out that some are engaging in an unevidenced psychological experiment on children despite their lack of qualifications to do this. Sounds pretty disingenuous. How would a school medically transistion a child? Of course this isn't happening.

This was discussing the 'school to clinic pipeline' of demand created via social transistion in schools.

How is a 7 year old girl, who may well still believe in father Christmas, going to understand that when their parents and other trusted adults tell them they are now a boy they don't actually mean it, they are all effectively lying about it? This is a social experiment on a grand scale.

Sorry, I just read this. I might sound stupid but "pretending they've changed sex" isn't the same as actually "changing sex" is it?
When you said about changing their bodies I assumed you meant schools were actually "changing sex" e.g. medically transitioning children, without parents knowledge.

I'm actually aghast that a teacher who teaches an age group that gets particularly excited about Father Christmas coming and woe betide the child who tells the rest of the class that he isn't real thinks those same children would have any concept that "yes you are now a boy" didn't mean EXACTLY that.

This week will be an interesting one on the papers.
