Huge congratulations and thanks to Maya for this fantastic achievement for women and children.

The charitable objectives - approved by the Charity Commission, lawful and reasonable - are wonderful to see in black & white.

Brilliant news. Well deserved.

How much money have Mermaids got in the pot? Could they afford to lose another legal case?

The acting CEO isn’t daft enough to take that project on!

🥳
I wonder if mermaids et al will challenge this decision aswell 🤔 😂

I'd be surprised if they don't.

pottydimley · 06/04/2024 23:11

Fantastic news. Standby for the TRAs complaining to the Charity Commission.

PIKNIK20 · 06/04/2024 19:14

Such great news. Joining LGB ALLIANCE. Would Mermaids or Stonewall send in their clowns for them?

Boiledbeetle · 06/04/2024 12:19

Can any of us have imagined the stonewall volte face on misgendering even this time last year?

iirc, they've previously claimed that something they've always promoted was NBD and everyone understood. They they mentioned that their previous information/promulgations had been about ambitions for society and what they'd like to see rather than the current state of low/play.

Belatedly, it was about them training people in the set of PCs as Stonewall would wish them to be vs what they actually are.

That's what I'm hoping, that more people will come to understand the lies and manipulations. With the recent employment tribunals winning in Sterling fashion, it should be evident to employers and Government departments that pushing the trans propaganda and justifying it to harass and belittle women cannot now be accepted.

I wonder if mermaids et al will challenge this decision as well

It would be good, in a way. The more these mendacious bullies lose, the better it is for all. It costs them money, the more people see of their rubbish, the more they see and realise it for what it is.

tempting though it is to think the likes of stonewall, mermaids et al spend all day carpet chewing (and I dont doubt that they do) they surely realise the tide is turning? Can any of us have imagined the stonewall volte face on misgendering even this time last year?

Well that's another £25 that they will get in gift aid.

HornyHornersPinkyWinky · 05/04/2024 21:56

I got this email today as I'm on their mailing list - so delighted for them!

Oh - that's good to know.

Thanks!

well done🍾!

Citrusandginger · 05/04/2024 15:58

Brilliant news!!

Looking at the email from them it looks like they are going for gift aid too. Does anyone know if that can apply retrospectively to earlier donations? I'm guessing not, but it would be a nice boost.
