First item is the Hate bill and JK's tweets - they did invite her on but haven't heard back yet

For women Scotland will be on too.

These many many pages of tedious mansplaining are a disincentive to any woman to have any man (even one in a dress) in her space, ever, lest he engage her in conversation.

Like the best jokes this is also 100% truth.

Disclaimer: the terms man/men/boy/boys/he/his/him and woman/women/girl/girls/she/hers/her below will refer to their sex-based meanings unless explicitly stated otherwise. The existence of alternative meanings is acknowledged but for clarity these alternative meanings are not intended or implied.

Women's single sex spaces, physical and conceptual, don't just exist to protect us from the physical threat some men (including some men who do not identity as men) pose, they also exist to protect us from the asymetric demands men place on our time and attention. To each individual man, his desire to engage an individual woman in conversation may seem like sinple friendliness but from the individual woman's perspective the cumulative effect of the time taken to be polite to all the men who want to engage her attention has a genuine cost in time and headspace she can spend on her own thoughts, needs and planning.

Indignant Willyboaby is, being interviewed on BBC Scotland The Nine tonight if anyone's interested. (I have a dog to bath).

Sorry - this paint isn't going to watch itself dry . . . 😁

I used "bathroom bills" as that's what they call them in States. We don't have legislation like that here, yet, so that was the test bed of what happens to GNC people and trans men when you use chromosome-based toilets.

Nutpicking is a logical fallacy.

You do realise that there were single sex toilets for a long long time before gender identity theory became a thing, right?

DadJoke · 03/04/2024 19:26

RedToothBrush · 03/04/2024 16:33

I did wonder that exact thought.

Nitpicking being autocorrected to nutpicking made me wonder. It also isn't the first time.

Nutpicking

Nutpicking is the fallacious tactic of picking out and showcasing the nuttiest member(s) of a group as the best representative(s) of that group — hence, "picking the nut".

It's way past time I rearranged the fridge magnets.

Oh Dear.
How sad.
I'll be watching the Footie.
Never Mind

(Look forward to the FWR analysis)

Uhh no.

You mean a TW that's been CAUGHT.

Any man, trapped in prison with no acess to sex, which many of us women know some men feel is a RIGHT, you know the kind of men that end up in prison, should not be around women.

This.

Prison is not supposed to be a gender affirming space.

If you don't want to be imprisoned with other criminals of your own sex, don't commit crimes. Simples.

lifeturnsonadime · 03/04/2024 17:54

Dadjoke has yet again made a thread all about Dadjoke and his bigoted beliefs.

Thank goodness we have women like JKR on TRSOH.

Isla Bryson is, and should, be kept on the men's estate, as is the current policy, as Sturgeon confirmed. She was briefly held in solitary on the women's estate. As always, people should be treated on a case-by-case basis. A trans women who has committed non-sexual, non-violent crimes should go to the women's estate.

ApocalipstickNow · 03/04/2024 17:18

I’d just like to pull this bit out of dad’s post

”- Service providers should be aware that where a transsexual person is visually and for all practical purposes indistinguishable from a non-transsexual person of that gender, they should normally be treated according to their acquired gender, unless there are strong reasons to the contrary.”

and ask are you seriously suggesting Isla Bryson is
“ visually and for all practical purposes indistinguishable from a non-transsexual person of that gender”
because I suspect his victims would not agree with you.

You seem very keen for men to have access to unconsenting women.

I'm answering all the questions thrown at me, then getting in to trouble for answering them. I'll return to my original point, then I am out.

Listing bad actors in a protected category and implying that all members of that category should suffer as a result of their behaviour is the weapon of MRAs, racists, homophobes and other bigots throughout the ages, usually with the excuse that it protects women and girls. JK Rowling is just following in the storied footsteps of Anita Bryant.

"What these people really want, hidden behind obscure legal phrases, is the legal right to propose to our children that theirs is an acceptable alternate way of life. ... I will lead such a crusade to stop it as this country has not seen before."

No, no, no, that’s more misrepresentation.

JKR listed men who have used the tolerance given to old style transsexuals under the GRA’s legal fiction, to abuse women.

Her list is not a set of bad actors to misrepresent trans people. It’s a very clear demonstration of why singe sex categories and safe guarding must not be undermined by men who can’t take no for an answer.

Women are sick of men stealing our stuff. They can just piss off.

You must be American - hence the reference to 'bathrooms'. The U.K is not the U.S and what goes there does not necessarily follow suit here at all.

As I understand it, U.S states are one by one challenging the notion that males should be allowed to use female facilities, as well as to compete in female sporting categories.

I don’t understand how all the lesbians are getting to date other lesbians when everyone mistakes them for men🤷‍♀️(Sarcasm)

Some single sex spaces are never delineated in that way, some are. That was the point I was making. You can't exclude women who have served their time for sexual offences against women from women's bathrooms.

Lily Cade has admitted to sexual assault on female victims. There might be single sex spaces from which she should be banned, but toilets aren't one of them.

I'm going to have to hide the thread because watching women constantly responding to this guy is doing my head in. There's showing him he's wrong for the benefit of lurkers - which is one thing, and there's allowing yourself to be used to keep a mans fantasy of rapists in womens toilets running.

There's a plopper who was on another FWR thread recently who has pictures up on another platorm of himself in terrible blue underpants. He's hidden his face but is inviting admiration of his manly physique. Yuk.

Yep.

I'm getting to the same place.

Just grey rock.

Justnot · 03/04/2024 15:24

DJ throughout the judgement, it refers to Schedule 3 exemptions, basically saying it’s fine as it is and if he thought the exemptions weren’t being applied properly he would have done something about it ( crap paraphrasing but am bored now and fucking off to the Rape Crisis thread)

We now know they haven’t been applied properly
