"Spanish Stonewall" suing "Non Normative Trans People"

"The Spanish equivalent to Stonewall (FELGTB) has been fuming some days because of those military guys who changed their legal sex to female without doing anything else (and keeping beards, wives, everything!), because they were proving us feminists so right.

So finally FELGTB have decided to sue the military guys (who created an organisation called "Non Normative Trans People" (TNN in its Spanish acronym) for "fraud". But TNN have doubled down and said that they are going to sue FELGTB for transphobia, because no reason has to be given for changing your ID and the law says you can't be questioned."

How transphobic of FELGTB, who are they to gatekeep transness?!

Don't think so, ex had a pink shirt and pretty sure he'd regard himself as All Man. Although this was years ago so signifiers might have moved on. 🙄

Imagine if you had been pointing out this very obvious glaring contradiction for, ooh, about 6 or 7 years, only to be ignored by everyone who didn't want to acknowledge it.

I expect you'd be quite interested to see what happens!

And perhaps mildly frustrated that misogyny is so ingrained that it's taken this for people to realise that feminine might not actually be a synonym for female?

But mainly just stocking up on 🍿

Does this mean that the courts in Spain has to arrive at a concrete, legal definition of trans in order to settle the case?

In which case, I am joining @AlisonDonut at the popcorn maker. Between this, the NHS reverse ferret on puberty blockers and Labours latest squirming on women's sports, it turning into quite a week.

This is useful though. These Spanish soldiers have seen where they can get advantage for themselves and have gone for it. (though the advantage they are getting is for women, who get special pensions etc for having had years of unequal treatment so it really does stick in the craw that men are doing this)

So now a Spanish court is going to do what the Spanish government neglected to do and that is to give robust definitions of man, woman and trans. And that can only be good for women (and the genuine trans people there are). Or maybe not - not sure how clever the Spanish government is.

kiiiind? It’s only a tiny number of squaddies self identifying as being not really trans for the sake of getting the benefits. They should budge up and make room and stop gate keeping the meaning of the non sensical words they made vague and meaningless l. NNTP rights are human rights and all that.
