I'm listening to it now - I'm so happy to hear her speak she has been so meaningful to me throughout my life. I knew she was in a retirement home of some sort and really pleased to hear her sounding clear and healthy. At 84 she has more between her ears than her interviewer!

Yep, that 'she won't be around forever' comment was jaw-dropping.
I was thinking about this this morning. It feels like Theroux has had some audience research done and is v keen to not offend his target demographic. He spends quite a bit of time saying 'for our younger listeners' but rarely the other way round. I wonder how much influence Spotify has too - I know nothing about them.

I was a fan.
Disappointed. He's just SO fixated on being relevant and clearly petrified of being hounded by tras.
She's 84 and it just felt like he was trying to catch her out the whole time. He kept apologising for saying or asking stuff but then asking or saying it anyway.
Germaine misunderstood some of his modern references, as is perfectly understandable from someone of that age, and he tried to explain it... i.e. "no Germaine, a WAP doesn't mean you have a wet arse" ffs. Grow the fuck up Louis! She doesn't give a crap! 🙈🙈🙈

Oh god. I used to be a huge fan of his until he said his only regret was asking a question to a "trans woman" or possibly a "trans child" that wasn't sufficiently reverential.

Is it worth overcoming that to hear Greer's thoughts?

I don’t know why he felt the need to go on and on about WAP. It was almost as cringe as hearing him vomit up his nonsense opinion about what an iconic feminist should talk about or not. Embarrassing wanker.

however it was great to hear from GG, she was fascinating as ever and I hope her health and living situation improves.
