Gender surgeon saying the quiet part out loud

Sorry if there's already a thread. A gender surgeon seems to have said some of the bits they don't say out loud, at a WPATH sponsored event, and been recorded doing so:

Top Canadian surgeon reveals the 'dreaded' TRUTH about sex-change ops

'The most-dreaded complication is to perforate the rectum while you are dissecting the vaginal cavity,' said Dr Alex Laungani. 'You're very close to the rectum, and it's very hard.'

You've been following developments in gender affirming surgery for four whole years?

That's nearly as long as I had to wait for mine - 17 years ago.

You must be almost as much of an expert as JK Rowling by now!

'Biological reality' isn't an irrelevant optional extra. It's a source of great anguish to many people - great enough to drive us to seek out drastic surgical routes toward addressing our physical dysphoria despite knowing they have a significant chance of complications.

"ghoulishly revelling in trans misery". "Significant chance of complications" So is it one or the other or both?

A huge majority - 81 percent - of those who had gender-affirming surgery in the past five years said they endured pain simply from moving around in the weeks and months after going under the knife.

Good heavens! Who would have expected major abdominal surgery to hurt during post-operative convalescence?

For months??? It bloody shouldn't. Not for non life saving surgery. I did have life saving abdominal surgery, I died on my way into the operating theatre that was how life saving it was. Even then I should have been able to go back to work three weeks later. It only took 13 weeks because I developed MRSA and had to have the wounds re-packed every day. It still hurts now nearly two decades later. But I didn't have a choice, it was the surgery or dead.

Surely no one should put themselves through non life saving surgery if you then have to spend months in pain, especially as the chances they are spending months in pain is because something went wrong.

These surgeries have the potential for so much to go wrong, so much damage to be caused, so many ongoing problems and the likelihood of death that comes with any operation where you are anesthetized.

And for what? Bits chopped off, bits added, bits inverted, bits moved from arm to crotch?

Surely it is safer and a lot less painful to get decent therapy and learn too live with what you have. It's not as if the surgery actually turns a person into the opposite sex.

have been following this car crash for about 4 years now and am still to get an answer to this-if gender woo feelings are what determines whether you are female or male and biological reality is some irrelevant optional extra, then why would you need to be hacked about with scalpels by some licensed butcher?

Short term post op pain is to be expected. I believe 3 months post op recovery time is expected for hysterectomy for example.
Years of pain, dysfunction, incontinence, recurrent infection, tissue necrosis, is not acceptable and from what I have read seems to be not uncommon.
That is before you consider the long term side effects of wrong sex hormones, particularly on young females who are pushed into menopause, osteoporosis, vaginal atrophy, increased risk of heart attack and stroke, 30 years too early.
IMO it is criminal.

I see the Mail has heroically stepped in to provide an avenue for ghoulishly revelling in trans misery in case anyone was pining for that authentic Kiwifarms experience.

so I take it the reported outcomes are all fine and dandy with you then?

Trans surgery my arse. It's akin to fgm and should be prosecutable. Hideous and butchery dressed up as cutting edge science.

UtopiaPlanitia · 18/02/2024 00:02

The post-surgery complication rates for these operations are terrifying, as is the lack of post-operative care and advice especially with patients who have the operations done privately. Surgeons are being callous in operating on vulnerable patients who aren’t fully aware of what could go seriously wrong with their bodies.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 17/02/2024 23:59

Is there any other sort of surgery with such poor outcomes that is allowed?

LargeSquareRock · 17/02/2024 23:48

Many aspects of trans “healthcare” will greatly forshorten the lives of the victims. I think permanent wound infections from fake vaginas and penises, along with the body contsgantly fighting to reject sewn on bits will result in high motality rates over the next couple of decades. That’s before we even get into young women forced into early menopause dying from cardiac issues and dementia like women in their 70s and 80s.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 17/02/2024 23:35

This was always going to be the case, but you’re not allowed to state the truth because transgenderism trumps facts.

The woke movement have forced this to the extreme and surgeons and the like are seeing £££ signs.

it will be only a matter of time before the mass court cases will start

IcakethereforeIam · 17/02/2024 23:32

'Trans care' is an oxymoron. If these butchers cared they'd be demonstrating against it.

MajesticWhine · 17/02/2024 23:31

It's tragic that these surgeries are allowed.
