Yes - they've found something RS can impressive about, which is quite an achievement these days. (Also a lifelong notTory who is praying for a GC socialist independent candidate)

Waystation · 13/02/2024 11:11

RS response was just perfect - balanced, respectful and honest - nothing bad or controversial about it.

To be fair, having seen RMW’s ability to collate bundles

If you malign RMW's bundle compilation capabilities, you know what will happen. It's like saying Candyman.

<Googles Robin Ellacott>

Ah, character in the Strike novels.

Pft. Strike is a character in the Robin Ellacott novels, you mean...

CriticalCondition · 13/02/2024 10:38

So a prominent trans barrister from Somerset is in the audience of a people's forum with the PM in Durham. I'd be interested to know how that came about.

Should I have heard of a Robin Ellacott? Are they in government or something?

Yes. Robin is clearly a unisex name.

Brilliant response from Sunak. Finally someone starting to see sense and respect women.

I'm going to land up voting fucking tory, amn't I?

The world has gone mad.

I've been a never tory for 46 years. Not this year and I'll be writing to all my local candidates to tell them. Already told my incumbent... Caroline Lucas... Who I voted for last time

LarkLane · 13/02/2024 10:08

I'm a barrister fom Somerset The only lawyer I've come across who feels obliged to announce their county of birth, rather than their legal expertise, on the telly.

Also rather unfair on the able legal bods of Somerset. NALALT

I still don't trust him, I'm pretty sure he will say anything to get votes.

Agreed but he is man with a wife and 2 daughters (I think) Let’s hope he does see the point of view of biological women and the dangers they can face in everyday life, with rules that were put in place to protect women being eradicated. Not that we should have to refer to ourselves as biological.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 13/02/2024 09:50

Actress Robin Wright was born in 1966, so it's not that new as a female name.

White acknowledged that White’s voice had power necessary for White’s success in the court room. And tried to deny that that ‘power’ came from a male set of lungs as well as the male timbre of that voice.

Wasn’t RW SWE’s representative in the Rachel Meade case? Perhaps it will start to dawn on RW that the power of RW’s voice is irrelevant when the case is as desperately flawed as that one. 😂
