I just want to thank all these women for speaking out for women despite the obstacles put in their place. It's getting easier for the rest of us now.

All the women mentioned will be invited, of course.

dapsnotplimsolls · 27/01/2024 19:16

Apologies but some wine has been had. I'm now contemplating a night out at the Terf Bar - wearing terf bras, wearing suffragette colours, reciting poetry and singing Billy Bragg songs (with the lyrics changed, natch).

BettyFilous · 27/01/2024 19:12

Sall Grover, another trouper. I hadn’t appreciated that the Giggle-Tickle case touches on CEDAW and whether implementing gender identity in law undercuts sex and CEDAW commitments in signatory countries. Go Sall! 💪

KCandtheSunlightBand · 27/01/2024 19:04

Just a few more - Alice Sullivan, Rhona Hotchkiss, Dr Nic Williams, Transgender Trend (apologies to the wonderful woman that started TT whose name I cannot remember)……..

Floisme · 27/01/2024 18:51

Langcleg, MaryZ and all the other posters who were banned (including Posie Parker). And FloralBunting, one of my favourite posters who, if I remember correctly, moved on before she got pushed. And lots more I don't see any more although I like to think some at least have name changed.

And the brave women of Mumsnet! The Great Radicalisation Channel.

Maria MacLaghlan (I hope I've spelled that right after getting Germaine Greer's name wrong upthread).

Dr Miriam Grossman, a psychiatrist who I don't know too much about, but she's been speaking and warning about this nonsense for years.

Linda (Coach) Blade.

Scott Nugent.

@Boiledbeetle without whom UTDOD vols 1 and 2 wouldn't have happened.

Edited

You just know I looked to see what the edit was!
😘

Kara Dansky in the US, Meghan Murphy in Canada, Holly Lawford-Smith in Australia, many whose names I can't recall in various European countries and elsewhere.

I also think of the earlier victims of this ideology whose names I did jot down somewhere, ordinary women who lost their jobs in the last five or six years or whose lives were made so difficult that they resigned.

JoodyBlue · 27/01/2024 16:34

@ArabellaScott 😁and @Boiledbeetle that's a beaut!

A bra embroidered with tiny dinosaurs?

Well for me it would be beetles, obviously. They could be done by the wonderful woman who did this

I read that as a TERF bra! Which is completely different but actually would be rather wonderful at the same time!!

Mr. Menno deserves a mention. What a supporter!

WaterHound · 27/01/2024 15:34

Also Andrew Doyle (not a woman I know) is doing sterling work on GB News Free Speech Nation and elsewhere. Virtually every week he platforms exceptional women fighting this bullshit. 💪

JoodyBlue · 27/01/2024 15:15

@ArabellaScott I so agree with this. So hard for them to stand up for truth in this culture. If I think about backing down or backing out I think of all the youngsters who want to be able to say what is in front of their eyes and can't . Gaslighting and the environment that we are creating for the young with consequences like a 4 year boy being accepted into school as a girl. It makes me weep, when I remember my own at the age going to school. How innocent they are. How this culture is misinforming such innocence.

ArabellaScott · 27/01/2024 15:11

I'm going to thank the teenagers, who are sharp, honest, thoughtful and very definitely gc.

They give me hope when I feel so bloody exhausted I'm ready to give up.

JoodyBlue · 27/01/2024 15:01

Triggernometry are playing an important part in this and other freedom of speech and right issues, and the male podcasters taking an interest deserve recognition, Andrew Gold, Winston Marshall, Arty Morty, Graham (mentioned above) Helen Staniland, Brendan O'Neill, Dennis Kavanagh, James Dreyfus.

JoodyBlue · 27/01/2024 14:57

There are so many courageous women (and a few men) that we are almost bound to leave someone out so keep adding. I came on to post Maya who is after all the reason we are confident in our legal right to speak at all.

All of the above mentioned, of course. Adding in The Famous Artist Birdy Rose, Rosie Kay , Jess De Wahls, Baronness Emma Nicolson, Fond of Beetles Emma, Germaine Greer. There are many many more.

MostUnreasonable · 27/01/2024 14:48

And thank you to the countless women here on mumsnet and everywhere in the world who quietly terf their family and friends, fill out consultations, speak to their mps, donate to fundraisers, etc.

EasternStandard · 27/01/2024 14:25

Yes and Maya Forstater, Kemi Badenoch and Baroness Falkner

JK Rowling keeps getting silenced despite having 14M followers and everything she says about the topic is relayed by the daily mail?

I think "silenced" needs to be clarified. One isn't silenced just because a lot of people disagree.

JK Rowling is silenced despite my Facebook having daily articles saying "fans are not happy JK Rowling is executive producer in the forthcoming HP series" and three thousand comments saying "I'm over the moon about it!" And variations of that.
