Thank you. One of those threadsHmm

Yeah, odd he saw it, it must have been nuked fairly quickly.

It was nuked very quickly. Yet Billy spotted it. Isn't that amazing? What a coincidence! How clever!
And then he made a twitter thread all about it 😅
So incredibly fortunate that he was lurking on this little board of 6 women & a dog at that very moment.

I don't know, reported to the police by Butler and getting a telling off by Billy. That's why this is my favourite board, you don't get this shit on Christmas.

I love it when people take time to care

It backfires anyway

Perhaps Billy could write a song about it? He could call it something like ‘Let the women be silenced while rich white men speak’ - I’m sure it would sell about 12 copies if his wife and neighbours each bought a copy of his misogynistic, whiny ramblings set to a guitar.

Bore off Billy, you haven’t said anything remotely interesting or groundbreaking for years now.

Quiregirl · 09/01/2024 11:59

What a knobber

I saw (and posted on) that thread before it was deleted.

it seemed to be one poster saying “great man” then loads of posters saying “no, he’s a misogynistic arsehole.

Loads of threads are deleted, it’s convenient for Barg* that it’s gone as it probably didn’t show what he wanted it to.

*apologise to Private Eye and Melvin.

Quite. How dim do you have to be to imagine that people are going to take your word for what is in a thread (and it looks like it was his own anyway) once it's been deleted!

Looking forward to seeing Billy's immensely successful website Leftiesnet, where old irrelevant socialists gather to discuss the imminent revolution, and high end Dorset property values.

Excellent post.

It was up very briefly yesterday - posted by a new poster - what a surprise! It was the usual tactic of posting something insane on here for a twitter outrage thread about mumsnetters thinking Barton (or some other misogynist) is great. MNHQ were on it - by the time I'd done an AS on the poster and confirmed they'd no posting history it had gone.
But amazingly, incredibly, unbelievably...... Billy had spotted it, saved it and up it pops on his twitter feed 24 hours later. I mean - who'd have thought it 🙄😂

It was fast, here a lot or..

It's pathetic, isn't it.

Oh Billy.
I don’t even know who you are.

What an amazing coincidence that at the exact time Billy was casually browsing this forum he saw it, its contents, and saved the link, but didn’t post it immediately at the time. I am completely lost for an explanation as to how that happened it being such an amazing coincidence.

Datun · 09/01/2024 11:46

Dear Lord.

This site that has helped countless women leave men who beat and rape them, where women find a hand hold and invaluable advice when they are bereaved or their children are sick, where the 'stately homes' threads run into thousands of posts, where it's members give and seek advice on every topic under the sun...

... and these weak, sad, bitter men hone in on something irrelevant to them but that they decide to take personally and plaster their complaining all over social media.

Just to have a go at women.

PronounssheRa · 09/01/2024 11:46

Thanks MrsO, that confirms my suspicion.

PronounssheRa · 09/01/2024 11:44

I didn't see the thread but it's clear from the deletion message that MNHQ thought something odd was going on behind the scenes.

Maybe a goady thread, or a thread created for screenshot, who knows.

IcakethereforeIam · 09/01/2024 11:23

I tried to like his music, as a good socialist, back in the day, but I just couldn't. I think it was a combination of not liking his voice and finding his music overall tedious, although I might be misremembering. Perhaps it just didn't have a beat you can dance to 😄

I don't recall a Joey Barton thread. Is it an old one? Did he really save it to whisk out on the off-chance Barton said something misogynistic? He and Joey should go for a pint. I think they'd hit it off.

Chersfrozenface · 09/01/2024 11:16

Never rated him as a bloke with a guitar, never mind as a "commentator".

When he first appeared I'd already had more than enough of political blokes with a grossly inflated opinion of their own abilities, rightness and importance, so he didn't impress me.

(Yes, I'm that old.)
