She’s absolutely spot on. I’m sure there’ll be a backlash but most people will completely agree.

The DM has many faults but it does seem to be the one MSM outlet that’s shining a light on the madness of gender ideology .

JULIE BINDEL: This gender ideology is a crime against a generation

JULIE BINDEL: Over the last generation, our society has thankfully moved away from compelling children to be 'proper' boys and girls. But now all that has changed in a very disturbing way.

I used to be an anti-DM snob. Never again. They covered this issue amazingly - and we should all be grateful for it.

Don't be lazy, always read across the board, never stick with one news source.

Totally agree. The DM has many faults but it’s the one msm outlet who has been very clearly shining light on this issue to its readers while other outlets wring their hands and say #bekind when yet another predatory man in a dress commits a violent crime.

Not going to give the DM clicks but JB is always spot on.

You should - they have been superb on highlighting the horrors of gender ideology.

I suspect ploppers, trolls and drive by scolds will be on the increase in the coming weeks

Igneococcus · 25/06/2024 07:49

Something along the line they hate transpeople while using a bindelj as username.@Cailin66 The troll had started another thread saying this as well, gone now.

Cailin66 · 25/06/2024 07:24

What did that person say?

Oh, if they wrote the same thing that I reported them for on another thread, it was a nasty transphobic comment - clearly intended for the screenshots to discredit Julie Bindel and MN.

It never ceases to amaze me how these angelic warriors on The Right Side of History have no compunction in blatantly lying and faking. I guess pious fraud is worth it for the Greater Good.

You're a tedious wee shite @Bindelj but thanks for bringing this thread back to people's attention.

Is the fact that only the DM will publish this kind of article not worthy of discussion?

It isn’t.
The Times, The Sunday Times and the Telegraph frequently cover it
Janice Turner
Hadley Freeman

Even before the rancid misogyny became apparent I'd got tired of a paper that seemed to cater to a very specific London lifestyle.

Abhannmor · 29/12/2023 12:51

The Guardian is almost unrecognisable in general from the paper I first read decades ago. Quite apart from the trans lunacy. Sometimes feels likes you are reading Take a Break. Now that's grand in its own way. But....

flyingbuttress43 · 29/12/2023 12:02

Just to illustrate my point yesterday that the D Telegraph has almost daily trans issue stories (contrary to the point that the DM is the only paper that does) here is today's from the DT.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/12/29/parkrun-must-protect-women-from-trans-rivals-or-risk-funds/

and an opinion column commenting on it too

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/12/29/trans-ideology-is-now-a-growing-threat-to-female-grassroots/

Admittedly even the Guardian covered the news story - does this mean that the Guardian is beginning to operate in the real world at last? Won't hold my breath though.

Parkrun must protect women from trans rivals or lose taxpayer funding, Olympian-backed report urges

Research finds female records at three events are held by biological men as sporting greats express fears for grassroots competitors

I’ve met a few trans women through the work that I do and all were sexually abused and traumatised when they were young. I appreciate that I have only see a a snapshot but I agree with every word that Julie says here. Severe trauma can’t be cured by the illusion that you can change sex. It doesn’t help in the long run.

I wasn't.

I know five trans women who produce electronic dance music though.

Brefugee · 28/12/2023 21:25

thanks, I'll try it - the 12 foot ladder was fine until people only posted mobile links which are no good

OldCrone · 28/12/2023 20:49

Brefugee · 28/12/2023 19:22

i don't know any but 12 foot ladder and when people post a mobile link (i use a laptop) it goes bonkers and you can't read it
so i don't read much telegraph (I can read the times)

but what i mean is: that is effort. People can click the Grauniad and read - no issues. That is one reason the gender woo is taking over, because people can't read counter articles.

You can use the wayback machine https://archive.org/web/ or archive dot is (my direct link just now was hidden).

You just c&p the url into the search box and it should work.

OldCrone · 28/12/2023 20:37

My post was hidden because I posted a direct link to archive dot is. It'll probably be back shortly. If not, I'll repost.

yes I'm sure they're not physically in the same office but it's a fun game

WarriorN · 28/12/2023 19:58

Observer is always good.

Sonia Sodah gets some crackers out. I can almost visualise everyone celebrating that OJ is out of the office when she comes in and they can all breeaaatthe.

I think it's more relevant to question why none of the left wing media will report on these important issues.

The Morning Star is definitely left wing and reports on these issues - and is GC.
It is a cooperative and supported by 12 Unions
BFAWU ( Bakers), ASLEF, Community, CWU, FBU ( Fire Brigade), GMB, NUM, POA, RMT, TSSA, Unite, USDAW.

Posters who say it is only the DM that covers trans issues are wrong. It is not true. The Daily Telegraph covers trans issues in its news columns, its features and its sports section pretty much every single day. I realise that being conceived as right wing, reading it could bring on an attack of the vapours among some posters, but honestly if posters believe it is only the DM on the case they must be going round with their eyes closed.

and i can't read them because of the paywall. So only the free articles are available to most people (I pay for The Times, I'm not paying for the Telegraph too)

IrresponsiblyCertainAboutSexualDimorphism · 28/12/2023 17:02

I have literally only answered your posts and a couple of others. Am I breaking some rules?

Exactly, if everyone had ignored your first post you would have presumably felt no need to clarify your point, which seems to have been spectacularly missed by posters I normally respect. For what it’s worth, I agree that it’s a pity Julie Bindel used the term ‘do-gooder’, which is just the sort of thing that leads some people to dismiss a whole article. However, in this thread its only effect has been to divert attention a little from all the good points that Julie made.
