The Scottish Government has a Plan!

It really does, it says so. The plan has 50 points and is aimed at addressing the needs of the country's non-binary population. Maybe if all of us here in the Highlands&Islands declare ourselves NB they will build us some fecking ferries.
I will do a sharetoken when I'm on a different device in a bit.

I mean, you’d think the first thing to make clear in a consultation is what alkaline hydrolysis actually is. And what choosing that as an alternative to cremation or burial would entail or mean.

No. Instead there’s an enormously long ministerial foreword that makes absolutely nothing clear whatsoever.

well done SNP.

SaffronSpice · 18/11/2023 12:13

Because the purpose of consultations is to tick a box whilst obscuring their true intent.

UnremarkableBeasts · 18/11/2023 12:10

That consultation is a pretty good example of ornamental government consultation.

There is a lot of text on that link but it’s extremely difficult to get any real sense of what the consultation is actually about.

Why aren’t consultations subject to the same content design standards as other public facing services on scot.gov.uk?

RealFeminist · 18/11/2023 09:33

Agree, OP.

Igneococcus · 18/11/2023 09:10

I can't quite see why dissolving a body in NaOH is nicer or more environmentally friendly than the other options.

Eh? Water cremation?
Cremation + 🔥✅
Cremation + 💧💦🚹

I'm not sure Google is my friend here.

Just read this from Susan Dalgety & thought of you JanesLittleGirl
"A recent survey by think tank Our Scottish Future revealed that the Scottish Government published a strategy every three or four days. And there were 669 consultations last year"

https://www.scotsman.com/news/opinion/columnists/scottish-government-is-fostering-a-cult-of-gender-identity-ideology-that-is-destroying-lives-susan-dalgety-4413621#

I checked the consultation page yesterday. Last one was on regulation of water cremation. This does not seem a subject Keith down the pub is likely to have a useful opinion on.

UnremarkableBeasts · 18/11/2023 07:34

Yes. Strategies and plans are the main output of the Scottish government. They rarely deliver anything. But they’ll produce many documents outlining what they want to deliver.

JanesLittleGirl · 17/11/2023 22:22

TBF the SNP has lots of plans. A plan for independence; a plan to deliver effective healthcare for Scotland; a plan to reduce the academic attainment gap; a plan to reduce drug deaths.

How are these working out?

That might explain the appeal to the SNP

🎯🎯🎯

to be fair we have a health secretary who doesn't have the brains to use WiFi to watch the football so we can't go expecting tricky stuff now can we🙄

Surely of something only works with participation of unconsenting strangers then its all obviously extremely flawed. Nothing else requires this level of involvement with anyone.

It's the concept of "passing", which seems to be such a major part of being trans. The whole ideology is based on how other people see you. It's about pretending to be something you are not and convincing other people that you are what you are pretending to be. It's fundamentally dishonest.

That might explain the appeal to the SNP

If everyone declared themselves NB, maybe they’d fund the ferries?

The are throwing money at a couple of ferries like it’s going out of fashion. So maybe Sannox and ‘hull’ have been declared NB.

WickedSerious · 17/11/2023 19:30

OldCrone · 17/11/2023 16:56

They actually have a definition for "non-binary".

Scottish Trans define a non-binary person as “a person identifying as either having a gender which is in-between or beyond the two categories ‘man’ or ‘woman’, as fluctuating between ‘man’ and ‘woman’, or as having no gender, either permanently or some of the time.”

That makes me non-binary according to their definition since I don't believe I have a gender. I think there must be a lot more than 24,000 people in Scotland who are non-binary according to that definition.

And why does someone who identifies as having this in-between, fluctuating or non-existent gender need to be sterilised?

Edited

I like the idea of a gender 'beyond the two categories',it sounds so aspirational.

UnremarkableBeasts · 17/11/2023 19:17

The Scottish government would probably manage to prioritise ferries if they (the ferries) identified as nonbinary service hubs.

OldCrone · 17/11/2023 18:19

It would be good to know what reward people think they are going to get for playing along.

I don't think they think they're going to get any reward. They just don't want to be on the receiving end of the rape and death threats or being cancelled. They're being blackmailed, not bribed.

These "most oppressed" people seem to have an awful lot of power over governments. It would be good to see a government showing a bit of backbone and standing up to them for a change.

Whatwouldscullydo · 17/11/2023 18:18

Even the charities that are behind all this dont believe it. If they did they'd all be flying off to all the countries where wonen are treated like crap and telling everyone how to tell if they are actually throwing boys on the trash heaps to die, that that little girl about to be married off to a man in his 50s is actually a boy, etc funnily enough thats yet to happen when you could spend your time convincing privileged leaders of western countries and get paid for it instead.

Whatwouldscullydo · 17/11/2023 18:03

No one believes it. Not really. It's all just a competition to show how " nice" and how much better than everyone else you are. It all falls apart the second you ask any questions. It would be good to know what reward people think they are going to get for playing along.

OldCrone · 17/11/2023 17:56

And why does everyone have to know about it. Identities are only the interest of the person who has them. No one else gives a crap or needs to know. No.

HarpieDuJour · 17/11/2023 17:05

24000 is about the same as the population of the Western Isles, isn't it? I think you are right, OP, and we all need to get blue hair and pronouns if we ever want a safe, reliable ferry and a stable food supply!
