I’m on Allison Baileys mailing list and I have received this email from her regarding her latest win against Garden Court. I’ll copy and paste it all as it is well worth a read. Congratulations to Allison and her tenacity in seeing this through. Allison had benefitted us all with this

Very pleasing!

Slothtoes · 07/11/2023 07:53

Keep going Allison!

EdithStourton · 07/11/2023 07:51

Allison has come out of this looking like an utter star.

Whereas GCC, on the other hand....

RayonSunrise · 07/11/2023 05:02

Wonderful news. Allison has been out through the wringer more than most on this, I'm glad she keeps winning and showing this hypocritical ideology for what it is.

murasaki · 06/11/2023 23:32

Yay for Alison.

Not to minimise how distressing this must have been for Bailey, this is hilarious. They sued her for a second time, for not accepting their settlement offer?! These people call themselves lawyers, how could they think this would be a good idea...!

I'm firmly of the opinion that they hoped to intimidate her and price her out of an inevitable win, as nothing else makes any sense to me.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/11/2023 23:16

They have shown themselves to be not only incompetent but vindictive which is not a good look!

Yes, WTAF did they think they were doing?

Boiledbeetle · 06/11/2023 23:11

Hands up anyone here who in need of legal advice/solicitor/barrister would even contemplate ringing Garden Court Chambers!

Don't worry I won't be waiting to count hands! I'll just assume there won't be any raised.

They have shown themselves to be not only incompetent but vindictive which is not a good look!

Consulted calendar. Shall be negotiating with colleagues to free up time and hoping desperately for decent online access and Open Justice.

SidewaysOtter · 06/11/2023 21:08

That’s brilliant news, congratulations Allison.

Astonishing poise and devastatingly effective statement.

Well done, Allison. How sad you had to write it all, though.

My appeal against them is to be heard on 13 and 14 May 2024 at the Employment Appeal Tribunal. Ben Cooper KC is again instructed,

Good news.

I'm sorry Alison is still going through the Stonewall one, but also hoping that will be remote access/live tweeted so we get another chance to see Ben Cooper in action against them.

SerpentEndBench · 06/11/2023 19:41

A very satisfying outcome.

Froodwithatowel · 06/11/2023 19:21

Great news Allison.

You're absolutely right: the time is here where organisations have to realise that slogans, flags and rainbows aren't a blank cheque to break the law or discriminate.

TeiTetua · 06/11/2023 19:09

One would think that Garden Court would have recognised that they were defeated, and got out of the case with as little money spent, and as much dignity saved, as they could. But no, they seem to have a policy of grudging non-cooperation, or even maybe a non-policy that keeps costing them money and making them look inept.

I wonder if this is "The subject that cannot be mentioned" in the chambers, and nobody there is willing to take responsibility for winding up the matter in a businesslike way. They could have made this go away much sooner if they'd just done a few simple things at the right time, but if the whole affair as seen as toxic, it sits around and festers.

Just got this email. So pleased for Allison. And looking forward to seeing Ben in action next year 👏

TheDogthatDug · 06/11/2023 18:47

Well done. BTW , I have a massive girl crush on you, you are fab.

Soontobe60 · 06/11/2023 18:42

Excellent news Allison. And 👏🏻to the unstoppable Ben Cooper. I can imagine eyes roll when litigants see his name on the side of defence!

popebishop · 06/11/2023 18:39

Wow! I'm kind of laughing but kind of tearing my hair out that so many supposedly educated people continue to act in this way. And people like Allison have to patiently and expensively deal with it for years of their time on Earth. Beggars belief.

In B4 "but on a deeply technical level, Allison lost because..."

🤣🤣 Quite!

Cancelledcurio · 06/11/2023 18:37

Fantastic news. So pleased for you Allison.

Wonderful news. Well done to Allison and the inestimable Ben (as well as stellar service from his support wren).

Am I the only person who is doubting GCC's collective legal nous? I'd certainly be reluctant to hire anyone from their chambers after this debacle

Not at all - I mean you wouldn’t touch them with the proverbial barge pole 🤪

still I will always thank them for all the unintentional “I drove into a bin” hilarity they provided us on here

IcakethereforeIam · 06/11/2023 18:30

I'm conflicted. It's a lovely surprise, another win for Allison. But Garden Court are such wankers. They have to make everything so difficult and it must have taken a toll on Allison. It's all so unnecessary.

Anyway, congratulations to Allison and confusion to Garden Court.
