I've had a busy morning checking out my chin stubble, so just catching up.

@RethinkingLife You are thinking of Kirklands. Ranelagh Street turns into Hardman Street as you go up the hill coming out of town. I think the Greek restaurant was called Anthony's? Great food.
Catch up with your links there soonish, maybe?

@Ereshkigalangcleg A weekend in Croxteth is not something I'd usually consider for a short break, although for me, still marginally better than the suggested MN spa breaks.
My Grandad often frequented the little local police station, long gone. He liked it so much, he sometimes had a sleepover there, or so my Nan told me anyway.😁

I will try and stop poking the bear now.

I believe these were meant to be socks.

Well, since we are fessing up. Sitting here in men's trackies and with a borish username like I have - I too must be a man! And I don't profess to be fucking nice to anyone. Oh... and I fucking swear a lot which has been commented on so many fucking times that it is fucking ridiculous at this point.

And everyone knows I've identified as a boiled beetle since I was 4!

You know the older I get the more i realise that rather a lot of men are just Annoying Greedy Pricks who want things that aren't theirs to take.

BezMills · 10/11/2023 13:34

So, that KJK, hey? Great bunch of lads, so she is.

@Datun
I don't really get on with men. Women have always been nicer to me.

Men are afraid of men laughing at them.

Which is one of the reasons why the ones dressed as women don’t go into the correct toilets.

Datun · 10/11/2023 13:23

Men don't always get the birds eye view of the sort of grubby and manipulative sexism we see on here.

They're much more familiar with the ubiquitous building site cat-calling version.

The former is incredibly prevalent of course, but many men will often miss the 'tells' that women clock automatically.

Another reason why FWR is so useful.

Spending time here should really part of a GCSE.

The only thing that would put him off is being ignored. He's been all over MN trolling on different topics.

I know, I know. My manly guffaws at this thread are all guilty ones, honestly.

Essenceofpetunia · 10/11/2023 13:19

@AlphaTransWoman does it put you off chatting to us now that you know lots of us are men?

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 10/11/2023 13:19

I'm also a man. Look at my clothing label!

ArthurbellaScott · 10/11/2023 13:16

Yes, Alpha. At last you've twigged. All the users on FWR on Mumsnet are all in fact men. Just horrible, boring old men, clearly of no interest to you whatsoever.

Helleofabore · 10/11/2023 13:14

Hanlonsamazer · 10/11/2023 13:13

This is like watching a drunken old man in the pub have an imaginary conversation with himself.

Tell us @AlphaTransWoman are these men in the room with us now?

IcakethereforeIam · 10/11/2023 13:12

I'm a cake! ⬆️

AlphaTransWoman · 10/11/2023 13:08

Hmm. Men do tend to be a lot more judgmental than women. Especially towards those they perceive as other men. So I had wondered.

MavisMcMinty · 10/11/2023 13:07

ArthurbellaScott · 10/11/2023 13:05

Obviously I'm a man. Look at my username!

Ah, but look at my girly name, and I’m a big fat smelly bloke.

Lol, you have no idea how many men you've been speaking to on this thread alone.

Very useful for them all to see.

TinselAngel · 10/11/2023 12:53

Dogs are generally nice to me, it doesn't mean I am one.

Are you sure? Have you asked a vet?

Natural history of social and sexual behavior in fruit flies - a field study conducted in 2020

By far the most prevalent activity on fruits was males’ incessant pursuit of females (Fig. 3c), which almost always rebuffed them (Supplementary Video S1 4:00). On average, a female was pursued by a male once every 2 min. Often it was the same male approaching the female over and over in spite of the female’s obvious rejection signals. Females most frequently seemed to ignore pursuing males though it is possible that I did not perceive subtle or invisible responses. The most efficient way that females could avoid males was flying away. This had the obvious cost of leaving an attractive feeding and egg laying site. While females could land on another fruit, it is not clear whether it could improve their ability to evade males. Hiding away from fruit most likely consisted a secure setting for females and probably explained the lower number of females than of males at fruits

Natural history of social and sexual behavior in fruit flies - Scientific Reports

The past 2 decades have seen fruit flies being widely adopted for research on social behavior and aggression. This fruitful research, however, has not been well tied to fruit flies’ natural history. To address this knowledge gap, I conducted a fie...
