most police officers manage to not go viral at any point, or have any social media coverage. Yet this one has managed it twice in a few months! Not a good look.

Totally unrelated question - what effects does testosterone have on a female body?

Am I right in thinking that the girl who made the lesbian comment was 15 at the time ?

The trouble is , a hate crime on a criminal record will ruin her chances of lots of jobs

Was the police woman really that but hurt that a CHILD called her a lesbian?

I would suggest that if a grown adult in a job of great responsibility cannot handle a child making a few comments, she really shouldn’t be in the job. Seriously

SinnerBoy · 11/01/2024 04:15

Apparently, that whitewash is still awaiting release.

RhannionKPSS · 10/01/2024 23:06

Has anything come of the case of her intimating and threatening that young girl ? Totally OTT behavior towards that girl

SpiderMaam · 09/01/2024 14:56

Starting to think she’s the Chief Inspector’s granddaughter…

SinnerBoy · 09/01/2024 14:16

She's been cleared of any wrong doing, by a Police panel. Well, I'm amazed.

Police officer at centre of 'lesbian nana' row after arrest of girl, 16, is cleared of misconduct over pepper spray incident

A shocking clip widely shared online showed a short, blonde-haired female officer spray several people during a disturbance on a housing estate in the city. Critics branded her 'out of control' as she repeatedly shouted 'get back' at the crowd while standing alongside numerous other colleagues. West Yorkshire Police launched an investigation into possible misconduct after complaints about her behaviour. But they have now put her in the clear – though another inquiry is still ongoing into an earlier incident which gave rise to the 'lesbian nana' nickname being circulated.

I second that FFS. She's a disaster area. What her managers are thinking of I do not know. She has twice gone viral bringing the Force into disrepute

RhannionKPSS · 08/01/2024 15:52

FFS! 🤦‍♀️

slore · 08/01/2024 13:02

Absolutely vile decision. But of course they investigated their little woke diversity hire and found she did nothing wrong.

She approached innocent bystanders just for the purpose of pepper spraying them. She absolutely broke guidance in her use of a weapon.

Is there any way this decision can be challenged?

I suspect that PC Nana has claim to one of the letters in the LGBT+ (I'm going to guess she identifies as non binary as you can't just be a woman with short hair in these progressive times) and as WY Police is Stonewalled up to the eyeballs, her colleagues and superiors are probably terrified of giving her cause to complain about her. They. Whatever.

Dumbo12 · 26/10/2023 12:02

I do feel quite sorry for the woman police officer, in both these videos, as she has been hugely let down by the organisation she is employed by. At no point should she have been able to believe that her behaviour was proportionate or acceptable. She should have been stopped, possibly during her training and certainly during any probationary period. If she then continued, she should have been managed out, as would happen in many other organisations. Having said that, she should have sufficient self awareness to realise that she is not cut out for the role she is in, imo.

Abhannmor · 26/10/2023 11:36

My problem with public shaming is that is often used out of all proportion to the alleged offence. Or where no blame should be attached at all. Like being a gender critical person.

On the other hand perhaps it is our only sanction against people who clearly feel no private shame? Even now I expect Lesbian Nana thinks she was bullied by the autistic girl. And has been singled out unfairly after the latest loss of self control. It seems the relevant authorities have simply given up.

To be fair, when police from other forces were drafted in during the London riots, I've never forgotten an account of 5 officers from Strathclyde Police.

Faced with a group of @ 100, the 5 sized them up, based on their experience of managing crowds in Glasgow after an Old Firm match in Glasgow, and charged them in the authoritative way they'd manage Rangers and Celtic fans.

The group dispersed.

The Scots police were also noted for playing football with teenagers at the time and sitting down and having a natter and cup of tea with people.

sorry this had me laughing 😂

Me too, had me thinking of the beautician in the fast show.

TWETMIRF · 26/10/2023 10:01

It would be very unfeminist of us to say that as she's just a lowly woman, she is hampered by her ladybrain and therefore can't help her actions. Thinking is too hard for such creatures and should be left to the men...

Winnading · 26/10/2023 09:56

suggestionsplease1 · 26/10/2023 09:25

This.

It's the direction of travel on this board however.

There are millions of potential topics that should animate women and generate posts, but it is the 'lesbian nana' who is at the top of the FWR boards and is considered the most pressing consideration of the moment for many posters here.

Doesn't that tell you all you need to know about the core ethos of FWR.

It's still as yet a free country, no one makes you come to a board you appear to dislike intensely and post.

As for what should animate us, did you become the board police, here to approve of our choices in what to discuss?
If you think there is something better we should be animated about, you are welcome to start a thread on the subject.

NotTerfNorCis · 25/10/2023 19:50

She's not being shamed, she's (rightly) being held to account.

This is public shaming, and the punishment is too severe for the crime.

She is a public servant, if she never wants to be filmed doing her job (badly) then dont become a public servant.

What punishment? Having her antics as a serving officer put up on the interwebs? Theres a cure for that, dont do anything in public that could lead to it blowing up on you.

She needs sacking, that still wouldnt be punishment, but at least the general population of Leeds would be a bit safer.

AutumnCrow · 26/10/2023 09:32

It went to the top of the board when you posted on the thread, @suggestionsplease1.

That's how this site works.

If you post on another thread then that will go to the top of the board.

Women are perfectly entitled to discuss the police, given what they have put with from them over the years and to discuss whether that's getting worse or not. Women on this board have often warned that police are acting in a way that discriminates against women and girls with autism. In this case, there is film footage, and a further worrying filmed incident.

When I hit post, this thread will be at the top of the board again.

suggestionsplease1 · 26/10/2023 09:25

NotTerfNorCis · 25/10/2023 22:19

@NotTerfNorCis how would you feel if you were suddenly and without warning pepper sprayed in the face for no reason - making your eyes feel on fire for up to an hour?

I would take that any time over being a public target with all that entails. I don't think people realise the heavy cost this kind of social shaming involves. She's not going to be able to 'fade away'. She's almost certainly receiving threats now. If she loses this job she'll find it impossible to find another. It's a cruel thing to happen and although some people might deserve it, I don't think she does.

Also - I can't understand why she's been attacked from a feminist board. What's the reasoning?

PaterPower · 26/10/2023 09:14

I believe the police used to have to write a report every time they just drew their baton, justifying why they felt the need to.

Even if that’s no longer true (I don’t know) I’d hope that actually deploying a chemical irritant as a weapon would still require some sort of write up.

And I’d just love to see the work of fiction she came up with to back up her actions in Third Avenue. I mean, how does she explain emptying a whole canister of PAVA when (it appears) none of her colleagues felt the same threat?

I’m imagining something along the lines of “there were Zulus, Sah, thaaarsands of ‘em”

rational837 · 25/10/2023 23:12

She's running around like a lunatic, shouting and pointing something at people (tazer?) She then has a strop and storms off! That's what I saw.

The thing she was pointing, and spraying, at people wasnt a taser though, it was pepper spray.

I think what she deserved after the first filmed episode was support from her superiors to understand why her behaviour was inappropriate.

That's clearly not happened or been ineffective.

I genuinely hope she's not receiving personal threats and if she is I hope she is being supported.

However, we all need to take accountability for our own behaviour.

We now have two filmed incidents of this person behaving in a manner that was excessive (to say the least).

If she loses her job that's a direct result of her inability to act professionally as a member of the police force.

You don't seem to have taken on board the fact she was using a weapon (which pepper spray is) against people offering no threat to her or her colleagues.

That's cruel. Her actions were cruel - especially to a child in the LN video.

I feel your compassion towards a person who shows no compassion for others - especially vulnerable children is sorely misplaced.
